AMOL Prologue now available!

Jason Denzel

"By Grace and Banners Fallen", the prologue to A Memory of Light, is now available! Due to some unforeseen mix-ups with other vendors, Tor decided to release the eBook prologue several weeks in advance of the original October 2nd release date.

“By Grace and Banners Fallen” is available now for $2.99 as either an ebook or audio download. The DRM-free eBook version is directly available on our website. If you already pre-ordered the book, make sure you are logged into our website and go to this link to download the prologue.

A man who loves the hunt begins a new pursuit, red veils appear, and one of the Forsaken stands newly revealed. The forces of the Shadow swell in triumph as the world unravels. By grace and banners fallen, the Last Battle has come.

The full prologue is a lengthy, action-packed chapter that has intense scenes and some great surprises. "By Grace and Banners Fallen" is the final Wheel of Time prologue. There's no doubt that Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson left some great surprises for us.

If you intend to buy the eBook prologue, please consider doing so from our website. You'll get DRM-Free versions for both the Kindle and ePub. You'll also be helping to support this website.

It has been a tradition of the series since Winter's Heart (released in 2000) where the prologue was released as an eBook several months in advance of the actual novel. The prologues tend to be about 40,000 words; or the length of a short novel. For many fans, paying $2.99 is worth getting that much content, especially when it is released 3 months before the full book. We certainly think so, especially when "...one of the Forsaken stands newly revealed!"

Isn't today also the anniversary of the publication of "The Hobbit?" Coincidence, or just luck? Light, it has to be luck. I believe the appropriate saying is, "Yahtzee."

That was a great prologue. It feels like 100% Jordan magic.

And Casco. Anyone can buy it. Just put in a US billing address, it's not like they need to physically send it out to you :)

I found a way of buying it from the UK, all legal, sort of. You can spoof the address and then use Paypal. I did and managed to get hold of it.

During checkout just provide some random US address then pay using paypal. Doesn't matter from which country paypal account is from. That's how i got anyways.

Sure, I was ordering a Kindle Paperwhite from an intermediary which gave me a US address. So used that, found the area phone code for the county made a phone number up. Entered it all, used Paypal not my credit card, as that would have shown a UK address, and got the book.

The other way to do it, is find say a office, or store in the US, use that as the address, and use Paypal. Using Paypal "hides" your real location.

To be fair this isn't really I suppose honest, but the fact that the rest of the world is "punished" for not being American or Canadian by Tor. If people can pay for it, and want it then Tor can do make it happen, despite them claiming they cannot. We want to be able to pay for it, the series has given many people pleasure, yet because you are not a US citizen you get blackballed. Fair? No.

If you are a none US resident, just plug in a US address in the ordering lines and use paypal. It's not really Tor's fault by the way; Dragonmount like most sites (inlcuding Tor) set up their own payment sites , because of legal issues "domestic" payment" sites are normally not built to handle foreign purchasers. SInce Tor sells its ofshore rights to publishers in those countries you might want to try your local publishers sites.

If you want it done perfectly legal you could always go to Amazon books, I believe they will be selling the prologue as long as the book (when it comes out) and they are set up to handle non-North American purchasers.

Am I the only one who thought the child that Isam saw ducking into an alley was actually Padan Fain? Just saying... it was the first thing to pop into my head as I was reading it.

No, Amazon does not let people outside the accepted regions buy it, I tried them, I tried Kobo, I tried every listed source, and some that where not, before I simply gave up and went with entering a US address. The problem is TOR cant sell it outside those countries because others publish there, for us its Orbit books we need to blame not TOR, well at least partly :P

I plug in a US address because I reside in the US in Utah actually, and it says I can't buy it. Trying to be patient but excitement is turning into anger.

I have purchased this two times and have tried to downloaded it. It has not done

it either time. Have tried to call the phone number from credit card for Dragonmount and all I have gotten is a leave message. I would not recommend getting this. Jason finally sent a email telling me to down load Calibre E-book reader. It did work after some doing.
