Blech. Wretched night. Finally finished audit, and I'm trying to get out of zombie mode. Here goes (half of this was done before audit, so some of my thoughts might be disjointed, sorry) -

And you could pretty much say I always overexplain. I'm just not a very concise person.

 

As for Pral, first off I never insinuated that Pral wasn't intelligent, and he is def a very fast learner and seems to have a lot of potential as a newer mafia player. But he still isn't going to know all the lingo and expressions, so my only purpose in clearing up the "open setup" thing was to let him know what most people thought that referred to. Second, you say I should recognize his posts for what they really are, yadda yadda yadda. This makes it seem like you KNOW he isn't scum. How do you know his posts aren't those of a scummie trying to manipulate town?

 

And finally the trap thing. Yes, it was a trap. Incidentally, there's a reason I seldom use traps, and essentially this is why. People often take trap claims with a skeptical eye, understandably. However, the one thing I like pulling a trap with is this specific type thing: By setting up a setup talk trap, you go into it with the knowledge that scum that fall for the trap will prob try and deceive town into thinking something erroneous about the setup. Therefore, if you catch scum with the trap, you might additionally gain info as well, knowing what they were saying was likely a lie of some kind. I find it to be a pretty effective strategy when it works, since you can potentially bag a scum as well as find out more about the setup.

Ithi is def mafia. I wouldn't be grtting this sort of heat for saying it otherwise, she wouldnf have needed to claim (which btw means nothing), and town Ithi would habe immediately responded to my accusation.

 

Darthe slips in a fairly obvious AtE here with the EP thing. Trying to get me riled up by making the comparison to EP.

 

Still don't see scum Ithi revealing as a God right after I mentioned that they would be mafia and that anyone trying to convince town some gods are good would prob be scum.

You mean, by doing something incredibly scummy, and then when people saw how scummy it was, backtracking and making up a line of bull about it being a trap? Yeah, I think he did.

 

 

Interesting that Basel follows Darthe's AtE, buddies up to him by doing so, and then Darthe doesn't call him out for it. Obvious teammates much, guys?

 

 

I'm going to like this game. Being a god is going to be so much fun :) Anywho, I'm all caught up, and the people I'm somewhat familiar playing with seem to be up to their typical day one shenanigans  while those who I am not familiar with are of course not as easy to read. Nothing sticking out to me as of yet, but we're only on page 5.

Wow. Just wow. Within less than a day, we got 2 God reveals and a Titan one as well. Now, Ithi's claim was deliberate, so altho she might be pulling some kind of stunt, for now I feel it less likely she's scum. And after all, we know of at least one god that is town, so there's def the possibility of more gods flipping town.

 

But MCS's reveal didn't seem deliberate at all, it seemed like it slipped out as if he wasn't even aware of the discussion about gods and how they'd be aligned. It could have been designed to look that way, but either way I'm highly suspect of him now. Either it was an accidental slip, and he's a god but prob not town, or it was deliberate, and he's a scummy divinity that was emboldened by Ithi's reveal.

 

As for Darthe, there's just no way I see a Titan being town (with one small exception). Some of the Gods were described with fairly pleasant personalities, and granted favors and boons to their worshippers. No titans were described this way however, they were instead described as pretty monstrous, and power hungry and devious and crap. Not exactly the qualities of one who would work in unison with mortals. Their is one figure however, that is technically a titan, but he's not usually regarded as such, and that is Prometheus.

 

Now obviously, since we can't character claim, even if Darthe was Prometheus and was town he couldn't tell us. That being said, ignoring all the theme talk, his gameplay itself has seemed questionable to me to say the least this game, so I shall Unvote, Vote Darthe. I think there's a good chance him and Basel are teammates, and I could also easily vote MCS for his bizarro reveal. Still wary of Pral, but I haven't really seen anything else questionable since the setup talk, and he is new after all so might be unaware of the taboo associated with early setup talk.

This was to Ithi´s suggestion that we should lynch one of each, I believe. I don´t like this suggestion. We don´t know how our mod has designed this game. Eventually the coroners report will give us clues.

@ Des - I have rarely seen "traps" work and most of the times it looks like something made up afterwards.

@Dice: To whom might you be referring? If it is who I think it is (Atlas), then no, I don't think he would be town either. He was a titan, and he did do the world a lot of good by holding its weight upon his shoulders, but he didn't do that out of his own good will. He was being. punished, and when he got the opportunity he tried pawning off his task to Hercules. Or were you thinking of someone else?

 

@Tina: I think it depends on who is laying the trap.

 

And AtE = Appeal to Emotion. As in, they're trying to appeal to someone's emotions instead of using reason or logic to defend themselves. Most of the time its used to appeal to other's pity, when someone plays the victim, but it can also be used if someone is trying to purposefully rile someone up or appeal to someones ego

Like Tina already mentioned Basel changing his vote from Pral to Des while talking about the setup is pinging.

 

I'm hesitant about believing Des saying it was just a trap because I tend to read him as town, but after reading back the last part about there being good gods does seem like a trap to me. Both him and Pral were talking about the theme of the game (although I find Des mentioning that Demeter must be in the game because Persephone is, far fetched), but between them two I find Pral's posts pingier because he went further than Despo by saying that Prometheus would be third party (why third party and not mafia?). His explanation though that there is a difference between calling a character third party, and a player third party makes sense to me and it is different from the thing Maw did in Despo's game for example. Either way I think we should just stop talking about the theme of the game and all the characters because we can't character claim anyway and it will only lead to more confusion. I think we should just focus on actual play instead.

 

I'm feeling better about Despo being a human though because I'm also human and I'm town. Hallia being a  god, and several others just claiming to be a god and Darthe claiming a titan puts me off though and it makes me believe that RTE has just mixed everything up so that fake claiming would be very difficult. MCS trying to be subtle about claiming a god is the pingiest reveal so far imo.

Perhaps our brave little humans are the Mafia Team seeking to overthrow our rightful place in the cosmos.

We often get so caught up in bad and good that we forget that actually it's us vs them.

This post is just bad. You seem to want to prove to everyone that you are town by saying that Hallia was also a god, and she is a confirmed townie. And then you say that because Des isn't a god he must be mafia. What would that make Darthe? Or me and Berf who are both human?

Ithi seems less sure about her previous post where she just explained why she must be town and Des mafia, and now purposes to just kill multiple players to try and figure something out that might not even be there because RTE could have mixed everything up. This is very pinging.
