what!!! this is simply  fan favoritism .... :/.but the win of lan against fain can also be put to that.

it was really based on a few factors...
1) does mats medallion block the TP
2) how long would it take for moridin to think a way around it

it came down to a 50:50 for me... and well... we know who wins coin tosses...

Why only once a year?  

i second that, why only once a year. should take a week off and start another ladder, there are plenty of characters in the wheel of time for these to fill in the year till release. and it'd be fun.

@mark.the foxhead does not affect actions of power which are not aimed directly
at the bearer,e.g.you can throw a stone using the power and it will strike normally.
so what stopping moridin from dropping 1000 rocks on mat's hat???actually nothing!!!!
i read your posts all the time and i know that you are very knowledgeable about
the wheel of time world,so you probably know about the foxhead limitations.
as anudeep said,its all about favortisim,we want our beloved characters to win
its simple as that.

@jack i wont say favoritism didnt play a role... but, most other fighters have had a moments hesitation/shock when first encountering the effects of the medallion, the question is... if mat would have been able to kill moridin in the time it takes for him to get over that shock and get a weapon, or think a way around the medallion...

and no, im not saying mat or moridin should have won... but i can see that fight going badly either way... its one of those fights that would last about 5 seconds... first blow wins...

@testy i say, we open a third category, or TAR controllers... very different realm of combat than the other two :)

Suvudu is about to start their Cagematch and we don't want to compete against that. Also, this actually took quite a bit if time behind the scenes to put together. The volunteers involved need a break. We're glad you guys enjoyed it this much. We had fun too.

thank you jack of shadows.mark,as jack said,moridin can indirectly affect mat using TP so i don't think there is any chance of mat winning even with his awesome luck.
this event was great hopefully there will be more like this

I took a scientific approach to see who would win.

I figured that it all really came down to whether the Foxhead medallion block TP. So I made it a equation:

Winner= whether medallion blocks TP

Then I figured that since we have no true way of knowing whether the medallion blocks TP its really just up to chance. So you could also see it as:

Whether medallion blocks TP = Chance

Of course chance is ruled by luck so

Chance = luck

And Mat is the Lord of Luck (I don't think he is ever actually called that but still, it sounds cool) so

Luck= Mat

And if Medallion blocks TP=Chance=luck=Mat that means they are all exchangeable which means:

Winner= Mat

Or if you want it written out you get:
Who would win would be decided by chance which is governed by luck which will always side with Mat.

Oh and I was very disappointed that not once was Avendesora or lightning bolts listed as one of Mat's weaknesses. That would have been hilarious...

Lord of Luck, huh? I kinda like the sound of that. Sounds like something Mat would run away from but wouldn't mind having.

next time, let's do a cage match of more obscure characters, like Sorilea, Boundless, etc...

i thought the title lord of luck is already given to mat in towers of midnight( the chapter in which mat goes into a tavern and gambles with some one incognito,someone mentions that there is  someone called mat cauthon who is lord of luck outside city gates)

I thought it was really fun, so yes!

This was good fun! Thanks for doing it - it seems like it was a lot of work. Great fun though.
