Tor Books recently announced that the digital eBook edition of Towers of Midnight will be available on January 31. Here's what they wrote on their blog:

As with all our other digital editions of The Wheel of Time, Art Director Irene Gallo will be commissioning new cover art for the e-book. Please follow Tor.com for more details as the project develops.

Towers of Midnight by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson is the thirteenth book in Robert Jordan’s The Wheel of Time Series and a #1 NYT bestselling novel.

The eBook will be available from all the normal vendors including Amazon, BN.com, Borders, etc.

Not good news for UK readers according to Little Brown who publish/release the books in the UK they have the e-book as release in November 2011 according to the email I got from them this morning.

I second "A Making".

Yeah, it's available from other than amazon, but the other releases (B&N,
Borders) don't get any cover art. The new art is only going to kindle releases.

I got TGS from B&N for my Nook, and they told me the fact that I had no cover art was not an accident.

Come on, Tor! Get it together! We don't all use the kindle!

I just want Cover art; either artist is fine.

Any word on the cover art for the New Spring ebook that comes out on Tuesday? I figured Irene and them would have that covered as well.

@ Jillian, is that only for TGS? Because I've got Books 1-8 on my nook and they've got all the new cover art.

I've been able to load the previous books to the NookColor and get cover art to display. They are in the process of fixing the cover art issues for sideloaded content on the Nooks, but in the meantime you can use an app like Calibre to not only add the cover art, but also be able to edit the epub itself and change the fields to the correct names so the Nook will display the cover art.

Works fine.
