This morning,
Brandon Sanderson reported on Twitter and Facebook:
Quote
Ladies and gentlemen, A Memory of Light--the final book in The Wheel of Time--has been finished.
As for when the book will come out, Tor should do an announcement soon. Revisions will take a good six months. So fall, I expect.
Another common question: How many revisions will I do? The last two took about a dozen. (On no-wot books, I do about seven or eight.)
Sanderson's estimate of a fall release date is consistent with earlier statements he made on Twitter, comments made by
Justin Golenbock, his publicist at Tor, and hints dropped by Orbit UK that we reported on earlier. As soon as we have an official release date from the publishers, we'll be sure to update our
A Memory of Light info page to reflect that.
While writing the final scene, Sanderson linked
to this song on Youtube for inspiration. We've linked to it, in case anyone would consider it a spoiler.

Hoping the success of the final 3 books will push TOR to have Brandon write the other prequels at minimum and maybe a follow-up or two. Then let the RJ masterpiece rest.
Until a good movie or tv series at least!

I see how Brandon was elected "the chosen one" from this story.

As far as linking to songs for inspiration ... at some point, I don't know... maybe a climatic Last Battle type scene perhaps he could have used this for inspiration, Last Battle song link, I know it will be on my playlist when reading the book.

I have been reading the series since around 1994 when only the first four books had been released. I have since read them so many times I can't count anymore. The only problem I have with this series is that it has kept me from reading so many other novels due to my constant re-reads. I have most recently went through them all in audio book format. Two thumbs up to Michael Kramer and Kate Reading, you guys ROCKED the audio version. I implore anyone who has only read the books to try the audio version as well, I believe that you will be very impressed. Mr. Brandon Sanderson, I cannot express how pleased I have been at the job you have done with insanely difficult challenge. Robert Jordan, if you are listening up there, I simply say Thank You Very Much.
Looking forward to another re-read, or re-listen, very soon.
PS: Harriet you ROCK as well. Thanks for all your wonderful editing and support in continuing Mr. Jordan's legacy.
