Believer raced through the rotting landscape, behind him he heard the baying of Darkhounds and the snarls of trollocs. He'd left the convoy behind him, racing for his life, arms clasping a loosely wrapped package. He didn't understand what was going on, just that he had to get the package to Lord Mat else the battle would be lost. So on he ran.

 

But it was no use, the snarls were growing louder and he was tiring quickly. In front of him there was a rocky outcrop, in he dove, cowering as far back as he could as meaty claws reached for him. Desperately he tried to hide the package as the wrapping fell off

He blew the horn, it was never going to work, but he wanted to hear something other than the snarls of the trollocs. A piercing note sounded, reminding him of the first time he met Lord Mat. But nothing happened, the note died, a claw found his leg and he was dragged out kicking and screaming
