it's always nauseating because there's always that seed of doubt, no matter how sure you are

i mean i deal with doubt, considering i generally am the person "leading lynches" which puts a lot of responsibility on my shoulders

 

but it's exhausting being alive this long

Haku had always been Yubaba's right hand man. He had forgotten long ago where he came from, and what his real name was. His existence prior to when Yubaba took his name was all but vanished, except for a brief deja vu every now and then. 
 

 
Haku knew magic, and Yubaba had therefore been especially happy with having him as her servant. He had always been useful to her, both in human form, and as a dragon.
 

 
Despite being Yubaba's errand boy, and having to perform tasks that were less than friendly part of the time, Haku was a protective soul.
 

 
When he saw someone in need he always lent a helping hand. 
 
This time, however, it was his service at Yubaba's side that was going to be his doom. The remaining guests and workers at the bathhouse all pointed fingers at him, saying that since he was forced to perform such ugly duties he was bound to be against the bathhouse and its guests now. 
 
Haku wasn't ready to listen to their accusations anymore, so he transformed into his dragon form and attempted to flee.
 

 
The remaining magical beings combined their efforts and sent a host of paper birds to attack him. 
 

 
He fell to the earth and died.
 

 

 
 

 
Wildfire Sedai was lynched. She was Haku, Vanilla Town.

Chihiro was the most recent member of staff at the bathhouse. She was a human child who had been hired when her parents couldn't resist temptation and greedily helped themselves to the spirits' food. 

 

 

Yubaba of course didn't approve of this display of blatant greed and turned them into pigs.

 

 

Haku had taken her under his wing and helped her through the first difficult days in the bathhouse, and believe me, Chihiro needed the help. One of the adjectives most often used about Chihiro would be clumsy.

 

 

 

So when she found herself, in the middle of the sleeping hours during the day, chased by someone or something, and set off down the cliffside on rickety stairs and old, loose pipes, it went as you think it would.

 

 

 

 

She eventually ended up falling.
