What is the difference between Zander catching up as town or mafia?

@BFG idk It's more something that had been rattling around in my head about Zander but I haven't actually gone back and looked at proof. It's more a theory than an actual thing, him being less likely to pay attention to current thread state while catching up as maf than town. Like he's losing himself in details rather than looking at the big picture, which could explain all these small arguments which are so distracting and don't move the game forward.

 

Ok, the thing is that you talked about GB and the little I remember from that game Zander avoided thread interaction with you because he was delving into ISOs. This game he seems to be catching up as normal and then spending time in thread. I think I recall a couple of places where his catch up was interrupted.

 

I guess I have a vague question about how likely Zander is to multitab while catching up, but mostly I just remember x number of Sooh's posts while she's 'waiting for real time Zander'

I properly read up to p20 ish, skimmed up to p40, and then saw the msg to sub so I've still a bit to read through. I'll only properly quote and such from here, everyone.

So up to the p40ish skim+read, my feels have been the following:

Towny:

Sili

Wish

Hallia

Not town:

Zander

Scummy:

BFG

And neutral-ish on the rest. I'll stay caught up with the newer posts (from here), and I'll try to read the ones I missed (p40ish to p90ish) somewhere today.

Trying to think back where page 40 was. I feel like it was Monday night? If that's the case, I'm not sure what you saw that made you think BFG or Seph were particularly scummy.

 

I'm "okay" at reading her and thought she was incredibly more likely to be town at that point. Her activity and interest alone should have been enough for that, and I had no problems with her content. Her back and forth fighting with Zander isn't really something I've seen from her really, but I know she dislikes randing mafia and have a hard time picturing her deliberately picking a fight she knows she's going to have a hard time pushing AND is going to basically always result in 'retaliation'. She's told me before that she would have a hard time pushing Cory or me because it takes a lot of time. I very rarely get as invested as Zander, so I would assume the same caveat applies.

 

Still not seeing it with Seph, either, but he makes more sense at that point (and probably most of the game, tbh) tham she does. I think the best argument for him being mafia this game is, ironically, the 'contradiction' Zander posted. I still think a lot of townies could make that post, and I'm not sure thats in the pages you've skimmed anyway.

I want to just start by saying that my notes are not in depth for the game up to now at all.

 

With seph there are many things that seem atypical to me; I'll try to name as many as possible.

 

It didn't feel like he was going at this game the same way he did as the games I played with him, where he was town. 

One example is one I jokingly said once - and it was made really serious directly afterwards: the fact that he likes to concentrate on people that are not active. This time, he hasn't really bothered looking at them at all. It just seems strange to me. ... His WIM just feels low.

 

Many of his replies just didn't sit right with me. Like #525 - in which case he implied that she was trying to get him mod-killed, when I can think of at least 3 other ways in which they communicate without being modkilled (maf-chat, thing with 2 peeps together [i forgot the word], or after the game [duh?]). And #517 which feels like a "oh i forgot our scum plan oops let me add it" - my thoughts, not his. Not placing words in his mouth. That was just the image that formed in my mind. Especially since I've been attacked with adding extra info in the follow up posts every. single. time.

Sili made a point that I can't refute a little bit ago about people buddying their stronger town reads versus their weaker ones, but I'm trying to make sense of scum!him deciding particularly early on than buddy Hallia over half a dozen other players in the game.

This is an incredibly good looking exchange for her. Not sure what game Zander is referring to, but I hate this reply either way. If she was town that game, he's basically suggesting she isn't allowed to be wrong. If she was mafia, his post basically implies she's mafia here...and I'm not sure he's said anything all game to suggest this would be the case (though I'll concede I have low certainty in that statent)

 

Regardless of what she was before, her actually willing to be against him is a positive. Basically echoing what Darthe said.

@Clov: Zander was referring to quite a few games ago when we were v/v and I lynched him d1 because we disagreed and I took that to mean that he was scum. I followed up in the NEXT game where we were v/v by defending him but I'm pretty sure he got lynched anyways or something. So he's basically holding it over my head that I can be wrong about him if he feels off despite the fact that when he's felt "off" I've been right more often than wrong.

Niniel: didn't like her "sheeping BFG" post, it just felt odd to me. Disagreed with her scum reading both Katiora and Sili, Kat for excuses or something and Sili for god knows what reasons. (I have a very strong town read of Sili rn) Otherwise I don't remember what she's posted besides that initial reads list.

One of the most Zander things I can think of, as any alignment, is that he pretty much aggros anybody who insinuates he's not town. When Zander is town, he thinks he's the most obvious person ever, even though he's not. As mafia, he either thinks hes still the most obvious person ever, or he does an exceptionally good job faking it.

 

That's beem pretty much consistent throughout this game, except I've made it very clear I haven't trusted him throughout this game and he never got that way with me. Other than maybe Cory, I'm struggling to come up with another time this happened.

 

That's why I asked him earlier what his read of me is. He answered me, but it was a very uncharacteristically cautious answer. I have a hard time thinking he'd be afraid to go toe to toe with me if he's town, and honestly, I think he'd try as mafia. So I really have no idea what to feel about it.

Found it, Bolshevik mafia. He had a spat with Darthe and I based my read on his behavior. He ended up challenging me because I was calling him scum but wasn't committing to the vote. Our back and forth starts here and is just a few pages until end of day. Like you would expect, he thought both Darthe and I were scum because we were the main two pushing him.

One thing thats unsettling tho is your and BFG's interactions.  Cant quite put my finger on it tho. And the only other suspicion is youre seemingly to me at least trying to MAKE things fit, like forcing them as opposed to doing it naturally if that makes sense.
