Ive noticed and she has like 11 posts, even Lily has more.

it's pretty simple why seph being extra friendly with hallia matters. it's because when you're buddy buddy with someone in mafia it usually means they're your town core. but do most players put their town core in a 'slight town' slot?

 

not in my experience anyway.

 

now as to seph's responses to darthe and i, it's pretty clear he is tackling it from the perspective of someone who's been buddying hallia for a while. i don't get the sense he is explaining what he was thinking at the time he made that post. therefore either he is pretending to not know what we're talking about, or he doesn't get it.

Initially I was trying not to let my own bias make me scumread.  Her finding me suspicious over the reasons she was listing made no sense to me, but I haven't played much with her, so I was trying to give the benefit of the doubt.  But this whole interchange with her and Zander makes her seem more scummy to me.

I've liked your game most times that we played together!  Think of how often I'm critical of people and their decisions, have you ever recieved that?  I nommed you for champs, I think highly of you.

 

I think the only game in at least the past year you've 'liked' my game is Pokemon, I've 'irritated' you in every other game I can think of (admittedly we haven't actually played that many) so colour me a little sceptical here

It's an early read from when he was posting stuff similar to what I was thinking at the same time I was posting it. I'm not sure how much longer it will hold up without something more concrete, but there are people I'm more interested in at this point

yea my intro post was all jokey except for the halli bit, I gave her a slight town read because she was posting comfortably.

I saw a couple of people post about my lainey/bfg comment and I could have sworn I played mafia against bfg, though I could definitely be remembering the Pokemon game, because I do remember her freaking me out when she subbed in calling me mafia lol.

 

I liked a few responses from lenlo these last few pages

alanna catch up was pretty spot on for town her, giving her a town read for it alone.

If I had to guess sili would be town more often than mafia with how he is playing so far, I am still a bit uneasy there though

 

 

My goal today is to actually reread and make some notes, because I am still unsure about zander.

I initially thought clov was framing sili in a good light until the started going back and fourth with each other. 

dice's reads concern me a bit. I doubt a town dice throws out a read of zander off of hardly nothing, I would expect him to be more cautious which I am not seeing at all here. This kinda goes back when he mentored me, and got onto m about town reading people early on without reason. I have been reading him extremely terrible but I definitely think his game is different than his last 2 town games.

I almost wanna call clov town, for his town read on me alone. I am going to read our last game on perc soon to see if he did this, but I don't think him as mafia would ever make me one of his strongest town reads. because I am not always clear and concise and I am easy to misinterpret/push when I am not.

I'm not responding to all this in between the quotes, I'll just do it here.  His catchup post was meh, had a lot of uneccesary chumminess in it and things I bolded like "my goal today" and "I definitely think" and etc, just things that are rhetoric intended to make it clear that hey guys look at me doing the work here.  There are a couple of things I thought were really not wolfy such as how he would talk about his own meta and reference his earlier thoughts but those are things I'd expect a conscientious wolf to do.

 

The big thing was he called hally "slightly town" and says he forgot her then calls her "my town buddy" with a little =).   It's a pocket attempt 100% of the time and going from slightly town to "my town buddy" is TMI.  

 

Right after I said woof he says "Sadly I'm not".  Again, an unnecessary descriptor.  Wolves like to get verbose like this, and really is it sad?  No, no it wouldn't be to a townie.  That's not an adequate description of why it's wrong but I'm having trouble explaining that atm.

 

The when sili calls him on it he makes clear that he doesn't understand why it was wrong to say.

 

Actually... Thank you for that BFG.  [v] seph [/v] and if he flips wolf which he likely will Sili and I are clear.

p32 Starting to think Zander just looks a little bad. The Seph (Sili's alignment) thing is strange because Zander made a conclusion, Clov corrected him, but Zander went back to the post saying it's contradictory. I think Seph's uncertainty about Sili is townie whereas Zander trying to paint it in a bad light is scummy.

 

@Niniel Why would you follow BFG if you can't be sure she's town? Additionally, what makes you think that BFG is town this game?

I'm going through the first 20ish pages aorn and I keep seeing you buddy certain people (Laine comes to mind), ping out certain posts way after they were made, an indication that you aren't caught up to or engaged in the current pace of the thread.

 

It reminds me so much of your play in the mash where you were behind all game and would respond to posts after they were no longer relevant. The delay time is a little better/less here, but there's still that noticeable gap. That's probably my biggest scum tell for you. The buddying + the delay.

 

 

I agree with this post and it's something about Zander's meta that I've been avoiding bringing up. In that one game that I don't like to talk about, (my last one), Zander was scum and instead of talking to me RT to "read me", he avoided me and kept going through old posts in my ISO. I thought it was so strange that he was burying himself in old posts like that, digging up dirt that I'd already cleared up. If he was also staying current with the thread, that would have been unnecessary, but his avoidance was intentional, obv.

@Laine I have the opposite problem, too many people I find 'off' at the moment :(

 

Fwiw I think Seph has randed town since he came back from his break, so the games you had were probably his most recent as mafia. I know before I subbed into Pokemon I had him as lock mafia, but can't remember if I mentioned it in the QT, so in your case even though you don't have much it's more than most. As for including us and not others, I don't know - I'm not a particularly scary player when town, nor do I do particularly well at leading lynches, would need a lot more info to hazard a guess

 

That explanation on Zander actually makes sense and I'll reread later with that in mind.

Yeah those are my only two.. Mass Effect created the Zander-Alanna magic that you see today, it was June of last year and British Monarchy was July. I haven't been in any recent games with wolf!Seph.

I liked Sili's opening but had issues with his responses to Seph's questions

I agree that neither Lenlo nor Zander are transparent, but Sili being less transparent isn't all that odd. Though I'm not sure transparent is the right word with him, more so that he's usually cryptic, whereas the other two are not, at least from my perspective. But Sili is clearly town this game, but perhaps not communicating well with players like Seph or Lenlo? I don't think that makes Seph or Sili any less town; Lenlo is scummy of his own merit. I think I remember Wish jumping in confused on that, but so did I and Zander before going back and reading in context.

@BFG idk It's more something that had been rattling around in my head about Zander but I haven't actually gone back and looked at proof. It's more a theory than an actual thing, him being less likely to pay attention to current thread state while catching up as maf than town. Like he's losing himself in details rather than looking at the big picture, which could explain all these small arguments which are so distracting and don't move the game forward.
