Don't have time to edit the quotes properly, but in response to the first part, I would rephrase it. The two outcomes of lynching Zev today woudl be:

1) yay! wolf is dead

or

2) townie is dead, but at least we don't have to worry about an unknown quantity on D2 and we can narrow our POE.

Mislynching active town might give us more information, but it also deprives us of an active townie that could be helping us on D2.

As for the part about Calder, I have yet to see anyone offer any reason for NOT lynching him. Why keep him if you don't have a better lynch prospect? Or do you have a better lynch prospect?

If the choice were between him or Zev, who would you choose?

This is untrue. I think multiple people have given stronger candidates - your case on him is that you've heard he's a strong player and he hasn't lived up to your expectations.  He's basically an inactivity lynch that's playing for you.  I don't really fault you for taking that stance, because like I said...you don't know him.  But you can't possibly expect those of us who are familiar with him to be gung ho about lynching him just off that when we have people that we actually think ARE mafia, over a lack of town read.

Beyond that, I think some of the things he's brought up are decent points.  Not saying he can't make them as mafia, as well, but his point about Penny's irritation very easily comes from a townie mindset.  I would expect you, of all people, to give him some credit for that one.  He explained why he was voting Seph with no major issues.  The only real knock I have against Calder is that he's pretty much where he started the game at - Seph - without significant progress made there.

It probably doesn't help your case for me that an inactive player and my top candidate are voting him.

And I see I'm talking to myself

anyway, I have to go back to work but I would looooove for people to answer my questions.

Oh, and Clov - how are you feeling about Seph now? Is your vote still on him? are you comfortable with that?

Celeste - where are you? What are your thoughts?

Calder, how do you feel about my answers to you and with continuing to leave my vote lying there on ya? And are you still okay with lynching Seph?

And I've asked this before but it hasn't been answered: Hallia, Sili, and Thane (and anyone else who cares to answer) - if it comes down to Calder vs. zev who would you rather lynch? And if neither, who would you lynch in their place?

Okay...Liz out!

Yeah.  He's done nothing to alleviate my concerns, and I can't shake the feeling he was trying to find posts to twist into explanations, rather than sincerely clarifying what he meant.  Failing him, my list would probably be Celeste -> Inactive, third from left.

I have one potential deepwolf candidate (not really that deep, tbh), and I can't for the life of me figure out why I have concerns.

What's really bugging me right now is that a bunch of circular talks are happening with nothing being gained in my opinion.

.....I realize that some players haven't been particularly loud this game, in terms of impact, but I have a hard time thinking you mean this.

Editorial rant: there are many things that I hate about posting at PerC and many things that I appreciate about the post system at DM, but GOD I HATE THE MULTIQUOTE SYSTEM AT DM! >:(

Sorry...had to get that out of my system...

To the first part: I haven't been asking people to change their minds on Calder. I'd like them to, sure. I still think he's the best lynch for the day. (him or Zev) because almost everyone else is null for me except for a couple of town reads (although I'd like to see more from Celeste so it doesn't start to feel like she's resting on the assurances of people looking elsewhere >.>)

When I say: give me a better candidate, I'm saying: give me a convincing argument for why I should jump off of Calder onto your candidate if you think that my reasons for lynching Calder are so weak. Yes, I know that you want to vote Seph. Maybe I've missed it, but I haven't seen really convincing arguments for why. Calder has given some, and I'll go back and review (if i can figure out how to iso properly...the last time I just got quotes with the person's name in it rather than the person's posts). But point by point if you can convince me that your arguments for Seph are stronger than my arguments for Calder, then I consider jumping.

There's probably at least 5 different opinions on who should be lynched today (if that many) and I have yet to convinced that any one else's reasons are better than mine. And other than Zev, the other people being considered are people I'm reading as town.

As to the second part: Is seph your deep wolf candidate? I'm confused...

And I thought you were null/town leaning on Celeste. What's changed?

@ calder.

you want to build a shrine for me? I would be honored.

Want to explain your shift from serious early D1 to these past few posts?

Bc from my end it feels like I reiterated my suspicion about you seeming to overreact and now it feels like forced nonchalance

suspicion? I thought you where trying to pull a rabit out of a hat.

I am not sure why you want anything from me, I am actually pretty terrible at this game.

I am kind of confused with where your trying to go here. Not critiquing you. Just think your mafia.

So who do you think are his scumbuddies then?

...Okay, that was a big unfair.  Basically, yeah, he can come into the thread and be one of those scum that basically buddies people and tries to win them over with emotion/charm, rather than gameplay.  But it's not like he's a raging tool when he's town.  He's just generally not an abrasive player (read: asshole).

@ clov. I am twisting narrative? you are literally picking apart everything I say to fit your narrative, your only viewing it from your perspective. and I just don't really care anymore.

also this is the last thing I am going to say involving calder.

1. I like the guy, he seems pretty cool.

2. I absolutely Hate his mafia play style. It is honestly gotten better this game, but he seems like a anti town player from what clov and others have said. So basically he plays like this, claims mafia as town to benefit himself when he is mafia. All it does is hurt the town.

two was a bit of speculation, because I obviously don't know the guy and his play this game has gotten better since I dropped off.

His last few game related posts have felt more town orientated, though the ones about the scum leader, or being one of the main voices is null.

[unvote]

So who are you going to vote for now? (sorry if you already have)

Dude, really?

Come on man are you lolcatting here?

Give us something to work with.

How about a reads list?

I gave a reads list, not much has changed, except I would move calder up a bit. I had a good feeling about you at one point, but would need to reread if I ever got around to it.

What's happened since then to make Calder move up in your opinion?

I try not to be at least. I am one of those people that feels insanely guilty if I wrong someone. Now my definition of "wrong" might be liberal, but whatever. I think I only crossed the line once on here and I apologized to Darthe about that. Will prob decide I have to apologize to Liz at some point when I am done feuding with her.

I know what you mean - my point is, that's not my job.  I'm not going to sit here and cheerlead a lynch until everybody follows me.  I read people, I explain why I read people the way I do, and I point out what issues I have with other people's arguments.  I don't care enough to beg, guilt trip, manipulate, threaten, strong arm, or do any other gimmick to get votes.  If you don't want to move, that's on you.

Any argument you can make about Calder pretty much applies to Seph, except Seph has actually done substantially less towards the game as a whole.  I actually have no idea who Seph wants to lynch at this point, I'm not sure why it's not Calder, and I think Seph's supposed town!thought process doesn't fit with how he's played this game at all thus far (thought I'm not sure if you've gotten there yet).

Why would Seph be my deepwolf candidate?  I've said multiple times I think he's the best bet for scum, and I don't think he's really pulling the wool over anybody's eyes if I'm right.

I don't think I've ever said anything about Celeste to suggest that.  I said I was feeling a bit better about her, but her pop ins to point out how she has no real reads isn't a good look, and even at the time I made that post, the best thing she had going for her was frustration.  That could come from a town POV, sure.  But I made a very clear case as to why she'd be frustrated as mafia.

Having trouble with that. Sili has oddly ignored acknowledging the discussion in real time. That unsettled me and has no stance on it after I asked. That feels really off. But, I don't have a raging feel for Sili so that is connection based.

I have a deep seeded fear (he isn't going to like this) that Clov is a dark horse teammate. Sure he is the only other voter with me, but he seems to have more doubts as the case grew stronger imo. I don't view this seriously, but it does unnerve me. The real answer is prob what Clov gave, combined with me pushing it.

I have to read back on if Laine addressed Seph. Bc my nerves are tingling there, but I havn't checked her posts.

I'm apparently going furniture shopping.  Yay.

If anybody has any pressing questions, let me know.  I'll try to check up on my phone while fighting the urge to claw my eyes out.

Dark horse candidate.

...I'm basically championing his lynch, have pointed out the inconsistency between how he thinks and what he does, and he is (or at least was) suggesting he doesn't want to play anymore because I'm pushing him.

Goddamn, I love being me.

zev is a new player. Dont want to lynch him therefore. His alignment shouldnt matter.

Anyway zander is offbase there.

Oh. My. God.

But I can tell there's no point in arguing this with you *sigh*

*goes back to making notes in QT...*

Yeah, there's no point. I am pretty set where my ethics are concerned.

I said it was unlikely. But, we all suffer from our reputations......

If your scum Celeste, my entire vision falls apart. Me and you have to both be town for my scenario to be even remotely close. I think you are though. Because me, you, and Zev are the top 3 possibilities in the current game state (which scum would not want to evolve).

And the wording of this statement...does not..sit...right...with....me....

Both have to be town. As in it can't just be me or none of that is right.

But you're talking about your alignment as though it's a hypothetical. You know your alignment. So why would the need for you and Celeste both being town have any influence on your scenario.

Maybe I'm just misunderstanding your process, so explain it to me please.

what's the point of calder v. seph again?

calder is hard to read. Seph is acting weird. what information is there there? i don't even know enough to say it can't be w/w.
