@Zander this is another reason i'm dropping it. I get called scum practically 3 posts in some of my home site games. It's annoying as hell and most of the time it's their paranoia of previous scum games of mine that get their.

So what is your overall thought process on her initial read on you and then her coming to her actual read on you?

Why didnt you question her motives for it at all?

What is your current read on Liz and why?

Dont give me the other game stuff please. Just a direct answer.

I don't have a read on you or Liz just general thoughts on other players. A read isn't incriminating a vote is. I've answered this.

So all this has told you you nothing? Liz seems to think you Town for it and me Scum. I find you Scummy and Liz Towny from it.

Ive explained my take on it, agree to disagree I guess.

So if just posted a reads list having not mentioned anything really for it and had you as Scum or even Town for that matter you wouldnt try to figure why?

Nope. And I'd like to figure them out. But I don't feel like I'm getting much help from anyone on that.

Hallia is moving towards getting off the list. You two possibly. But someone has to go on it.

I know reading in game is harder than reading from the graveyard, but I'm finding it very difficult to read people in this game. Part of it is I don't feel like people are that active. The other part of it is that I strongly suspect that mafia is composed of at least one very skilled player who knows how to blend in well and at least one lurker.

I'm also conscious of another factor that I'm trying to balance in my head before I figure out what to do about it...

I guess what Im trying to say is Id feel better about you making that comment if he had more content but based off of what he's said I dont think that means as much,

Its like saying you dont think a friend could lie to you about about say bluffing a hand of poker you guys are playing for the first time. But if you guys had played a bunch together he's prolly less likely to if you have more experience playing then him.

Does that make sense?

Liz makes a read on you, you ignore it.

Im saying if I made a reads list and had you as Town or Scum with no progression and little to no comments on you in the game you wouldnt question me as to why?

Like you wouldnt try to determine if my read was coming from a Town!Zander or Scum!Zander perspective?

I don't agree with all of his reads, but I think Sili is town, for what it's worth.

Celeste is almost definitely town for me. If she's scum then I won't be mad at her for fooling me this time (but I'll never trust her again :P)

everyone else is pretty much a big fat null :sad:

Oh wait...there was one other strong town read. I'm going to mull over that one for a bit though...

I know that's true for Hallia based on what I saw of her in Chris' last game (Chrono Trigger?)

But my memory says that Thane was a much more vigorous contributer as town in that game.

Why did I join a game with high volume posters and people who don't know how to limit nestled quotes??

I'm pretty sure that's where I was at. I'm going to go back and read the Celeste/Liz interaction first and pick up from there. I remember a conversation between Clov/Sili that should make more sense once I reread. Ugh 33 pages... kmn

#240 is where Liz calls Celeste scum off some reads that she tossed out in thread (Alanna town, Liz ??, Zander ??)

#247 I'm confused by this evasiveness that Liz is talking about irt Zander. She states he's being evasive about his read on Calder, but Calder isn't exactly an easy read. And if you're going on his ITT actions, he always comes off scummy. Additionally, I'm not sure Calder has put any kind of real work into the game yet besides some Seph reads, but it's also only page 13 and I think jokey phase stuff is still allowable.. meh. Not sure what to think about Liz pushing the issue though, she seems to want to push reads that may or may not be there which can be awkward for some people who need more time to develop reads like me.

#248 Celeste's response is reactive. She doesn't brush it off but immediately goes to "tunnel" which makes it feel like Liz has reason to tunnel her. I wouldn't mind her ignoring this or brushing it off, but her wording here is strange, imo

#254 feels like baiting from Liz, I can kind of see why Celeste is put on the defensive AFTER this, but not necessarily before (eg her reaction to the Scum!Lassie comment)

#282 Zander is right, about wanting to question the read that Liz is providing. This post Zander quotes and the next few posts on p15 makes me think that Celeste realized her reaction to Liz and is now trying to brush it off by saying that it happens all the time with "I'm not going through our rollercoaster of not understanding each other this game." At the same time Liz really could just be baiting her to get a reaction in order to gain a read, but I don't see a reason to create a blow up in the thread for ONE read, tbh... especially when you know it's going to throw the other player completely off kilter. Would probably (?) lean town Liz on this?

Does this look like it? We haven't played together since the hobbit and I have improved a lot. It seems like your judging too quickly.

This wording to "Are you town" is poor, at best.

I'm not sure if it's unfamiliarity with how Liz plays or if I'm just reading her tone strangely (female Zander is more aggressive imo), but Liz just comes off very accusatory and like she's baiting Celeste to me. I said that a little bit further up and pointed out some posts. I don't have any meta so I don't know about her style of play but it just doesn't sit right with me. At the same time, Celeste isn't doing herself any favors with her responses, but I've actually seen Celeste play before and she tends to shove her foot in her mouth, then build as the game moves on if she's still alive.
@Celeste what do you think about my opinions on Liz's playstyle? Can you give us some insights please? I just need to get a better handle here

I like Chris and Sili digging into the Celeste/Liz stuff. You comment that it only makes sense if they have "history" which I would assume reading their interaction and from what Celeste said that they often get into arguments in thread during games and Celeste was trying to head it off like she already expected it to go into an all out brawl. But her defensiveness to start and the wording of her phrases makes it seem like she has a reason to worry about being tunneled, if that makes sense...

anyway it does not change the fact that celeste was sensitive there, which is interesting on its own.

#357 Clov I think Celeste would be just as frustrated with the attention as mafia, she doesn't necessarily have to be faking it. I mean, it comes off REAL to me, like she legitimately irritated... I can easily see both sides of this right now. My Celeste read would benefit from watching Celeste interact with players outside of the pressure she's receiving.
