In the process of making a film from a book, quite a lot of things get dropped out. We're all very well aware of the lack of Bombadil in LotR, or of Dobby's much smaller role in Harry Potter, and of clear age gaps between a character and his book counterpart. But just how petty are you? What about eye color? Horses? Amount of knives a certain character is carrying?

Below are a few lists of statements regarding LotR, HP and the Marvel Universe. Some are true just for the movies, some just for the books, and some- for both. Half will be posted now, and the rest on Monday. Don't post the answers here, PM them to Sooh.

Score will be seperated, so you can play even if you're only familiar with one of the franchises. There will be winners in each individual fandom as well as a "grand winner" for the person with the most answers right overall.

So, here are the questions!

Old Tom Bombadil is a merry fellow,
Bright blue his jacket is, and his boots are yellow.
None has ever caught him yet, for Tom, he is the master:
His songs are stronger songs, and his feet are faster.

Come on, how can you not just love this?

Diff'rent Strokes for Diff'rent Folks...

I read LotR every summer from 12 to 18 and most times I skipped from the Old Willow to the Barrow Downs. I just couldn't take him.

Two things from the LotR movies that irritated me to no end were the way that Faramir was depicted in regard to the ring and in the extended version how The Witch King was able to break Gandalf's staff.

I was still very young when Harry Potter became something large, and I was a typical teenage girl standing in the queues to buy them as Rowling finished them. Needless to say, I was disappointed out of my mind with the movies. Oh goodness.

I remember being the most annoyed with Hermiones hair.

What was so bad about them? I started watching them at about ~13 and I really enjoyed them. They managed to convey the atmosphere of the universe very well, in my opinion.

Mmm it's the small things they removed, Gayden. I think it was also the fact that (quite obviously) the picture that I had formed in my mind of the characters and places was not the same as shown in the movie.

Hogwarts was better though!

When filming books what a lot of fans are afraid of is that they'll ruin their favorite characters. What characters do you think changed the most from book to movie, and which characters annoyed you the most?

Well, I can safely say that the people who have done this game so far WILL end up in top 3 unless all of a sudden other people decide to participate.

And by that I mean, PLEASE PARTICIPATE!

If there are any questions as to how or what to do, just let me know and I'll explain!
