I already talked about how lily and thane are probably not teammates. But this is actually making me think she's town. I can't see a reason for scum to do this.

My initial reasoning for why I suspected Eldrick

I agree with your comment about Thane re: "This reads like you know Z isn't a wolf" - but I also wonder when people who have experience post things like "So that means there's 2 baddies, right?" Your vote seems reasonable, given the little amount of material to go on.

 

Sooh is null from what seems like a joke vote.

 

Likewise I can see where Eld is coming from (again, given so little material to work with), but I don't think there's any honest risk right now of a real train happening, it seemed like a bit of an overreaction? Would scum jump to push on a train so soon? 

I like Tab's logical sounding posts this game.

 

I like Turin forcing reactions out of people early. I think his quick switch from Thane to Eldrick comes from a townie state of mind more often than not. It was page 2 in the game; I doubt scum!Turin would go "oh no, Eldrick's on to me!" and respond with an OMGUS pushback.  Especially considering how calm town!Turin can be under pressure.  Switching targets fast like that could draw negative attention as scum, and I think it's more likely to come from town actually looking for early warnings and drawing attention to them.

 

Thane's reactions to Turin were entirely null imo.  He has a relaxed game that he can replicate well, and I don't think the 'understanding' approach is alignment indicative for him.  Thane's biggest struggle as scum is how he progresses his reads, and that's no secret.

 

Eldrick already feels fishy.  I'm not entirely sure what the key to distinguishing GnD D0 Eldrick from Supernatural Eldrick is, but I'm curious how he responds to me.

He seems odd, i guess.  The OMGUS vote was bad imo.  He voted Thane again to start off this game as well as the the last game so kinda null.  But i dont like the reasoning for the switch and I kinda disagree that dropping a 2nd vote someone isnt a big deal in a 9 player game.

 

 

Eh, it didn't feel like something I would call 'omgus', probably because I was leery of Eldrick when I read it.  I disagree with red, quite a bit actually.  When scum smell an easy lynch and piggyback a poorly developed train, they get outed for it more often than not.  When scum acquire a small train early, they're prone to make goofy/unnatural reactions.  Two early votes on a player is never an inherently bad thing.  Make what you will of his reason for dropping the vote.  I"m not bothered by it.

 

Even more so.

 

When you are sure he's scum. I know youre a good player but thats a pretty quick solid read that early imo. Wait till theres more to go on.

Really? So the bar is "sure they are mafia" before a second vote can be made? I don't see how the game will ever progress to a productive day in that case.

Up to here, I would have Turin, Tab, Shad, and Sooh surprisingly on my town list.  Sooh didn't get quoted, but the back and forth between her and Eld feels very towny.

Scum!Zander of late has been pretty over-the-top in his accusations--he tends to raise points that don't make coherent sense when you plug them all together, and ask questions without a clear purpose.  Not getting that impression at all here, and I generally feel like I understand where his head is at.  I don't know what Turin's scum game looks like, but I've felt pretty good about him all game.  Tab was completely lost in her first scum game, and granted I read her wrong there I feel like she's already shown more interest and independent thought here, and she's already matched her post count from three phases in that game.  Unless she plays on other sites (I get the impression she doesn't) I don't think there would be a noticeable improvement in her scum game without a mentor.  I think I read Sooh better than most, and I'm picking up on her town tone so far.  Haven't seen her scum in ages, but I'm not worried about her slot at this point.
 
Thane's 'slip' at the start doesn't bother me.  I'm a little surprised by his Tab read--he played in NBC too--and I don't think he's done anything outside of his scum range, but the issues people are taking with him are pretty null to my understanding of Thane.  I think if he's scum it will show in time.  Might do me some good to give his Supernatural game an ISO but I'm not going to get to that before this phase ends.  Hallia not doing that thing she did in Belichick and GnD to be really obvious town makes me exactly null on her on reread.  It's easy to forget that she frequently fails to explain herself much as town too after a solid performance like her last game.

I'm pretty meh on Lily in reread.  I can't say I wouldn't have voted her in Supernatural and I don't have any other experience to go on.  Part of me likes that she appears to be looking into people and not just stating reads, part of me feels like it's a bit opportunistic and slimy.  Eldrick I really struggle to swallow as anything but scum.  The AtE did feel sincere to me.  That just means he's frustrated, not that he's frustrated town.  He's set off my scumdar a dozen times in this game, in a way that's different from D0 GnD.

I could lynch Eldrick or Lily at this point.  Would rather give Thane and Hallia more time.

A couple of reasons I'm not voting Eldrick:
1) Like I said before, every vote is a big deal in a game this small. We have time. That's why I asked about a deadline. 
2) He can't always be scum, and I'm trying to give him the benefit of the doubt until I can't anymore. He'll get there soon enough if he's scum.

I forgot to answer this. I still will for the sake of general concept, even though my reads have changed.

 

My reasoning was they were the very first votes in the game. Very early in the game with basically no content. It would be an incredibly ballsy move for both scum members to start off the game voting the same person, and incredibly unlikely imo.

 

That's why I said they are probably not on a scum team together.

I'm not sure where you're getting 'hypothetical'. Can you elaborate? Do you disagree with what I said?

 

I neither agree nor disagree with that part. I was just having a problem finding out if what you were saying pointed to anyone in this game in particular being scummy for their actions or if you were just illustrating your point. (hypothetical in this case meaning you were illustrating). Sure it's done a lot, but discussing what scum and town would/wouldn't do is rather wifom IMO.

 

 

 

I think you're missing the context here? Zander said an action was anti-town. I said no, towns often benefit from this. It's not inherently scummy. It's a bad reason to suss someone.

Do you think her three minute progression on Eldrick is something she would do if she was concerned about how things look? Or even this progression where her reads change so frequently? To me that's not the actions of someone concerned about the looks of things. Doesn't mean that you're wrong about her being scum, but I'm not sure I would use "conscious about how she's being viewed" as a reason to call her scummy if she flip flops on her views like that several times.

Btw, I know I'm town so I can safely say that the chance of Eldrick being mafia by your estimate is actually 50%.

That's ok though. I didn't like Hally's play concerning her vote on lily, her reason that didn't match her actions, her general lack of activity this game, and the fact that she's ignoring my questions. I'm good leaving it there tonight, even if I don't have time to move it.

@Sooh: observing and not engaging? nice... I feel that I've been more active this D1 than last game, where I didn't need to solve a single thing. There was the weekend, but I'm hardly ever on during the weekends. By that reasoning, Tab and Hallia are valid targets too. Just saying. Do you have an updated reads list somewhere? 

 

here's more: I think it was Eldrick wondering why i have no nulls. Small game, content to work with (for as far as D1 goes) and mainly gut feeling. There's too much around by the players to have them null at this point. Not engaging? Could be a tell, really. At least i try to answer and comment, where as other players don't bother to do so. If you miss questions directed at you, you're not reading the game, but skimming, which is bad.
