Am feeling pretty sick, and am in two other games, plus trying to fill signups for my own game. These are mere excuses for lack of content, but yeah, this game was not my priority yesterday.

 

I am going back and gonna do what I do best - initial reads.

Negative from where I'm up to, starting with that Umm (as nothing as that seems/could be). Last I saw she was in a huff about people questioning the timing of her unvote and congratulating them on picking her for a mislynch. I have played twice with TownPenny, pushed her ridiculously and voted her for what I thought was lock-scum contradictory logic and she never lost her cool.

This is somehow out of tone for me espec7ally given Zanny's earlier posts around here. Awkward switch of ... Approach.

Where I am currently...

 

1. Shad: I didn't like the meta incident. Further I really didn't like the way he tried to frame the argument that it was a stupid discussion. It felt like an attempt to nullify any resistance without having to actually back up his earlier statement.

2. Kaylee: I am concerned about two times that she basically asked a question but then gave an easy "okay" to the answer. If this is holding cards close then it might be acceptable but it felt like looking like trying to solve without actually trying to solve.

3. Zander: He seems to be asking the right questions and he did repeat some of the questions I was asking when he was catching up and posting. The shouting has come down some which makes him easier to physically read if not as obvious in his alignment. 

4. Turin: by Role PM 

5. Pizza: Unsure.. I didn't like the entire note taking thing that felt like something non-game related to post to be "helpful". Maybe I would care about it if I took notes. Active and doing things but nothing that makes him obvious town. also curious to see what his thoughts were about he changing read on me. I may be biased there however.

6. Csarmi: not much content. I read his OP as null. Value does not equal alignment. Need more from him.

7. Laine: Disagree with her point about me. Also didn't like the comment to Lenlo regarding her having him as top town read. Feels like pocket attempt. 

8. Leno: Nothing so far that is pinging to me. I know that he has improved his game all around but I will give credit for his willingness to question someone that was town reading him. 

9. Wish-tree: Trying to remember what she has said. Nothing coming to me ATM. 

10. Pralaya: Starting the pool for when he makes his first post. I got 04/01/2016 2230 GMT. That is January 4th for americans.

11. Celeste: Despite her attempt to claim otherwise some posts reading as AtE. Also never liked people coming in and saying they are playing at a higher level. This may be clouding my view a bit however. 

12. Nolder: not much so far from Nolder aside from his question and results. Seems like an easy thing to post in either alignment.

13. Cass (with Cory mentoring): Good questions. Solid so far.

@cass I attempt I lost it yesterday but it's because I want someone to at least recognize that I'm different from my two games on this site that I randed scum. I always get instant scum read when I'm playing town usually. It just doesn't help that people try and pressure me because I do lose my cool. Take that as you wish.

Penn, I can't really do anything with this other than take it with a grain of salt - I've never seen you scum and I've never seen you lose your cool. I have misread you insta-scum when you were Town. I don't want you out of the game early again for my own reasons and from where I'm up to you're in my PoE but you're not my top choice for lynch. See where we're at when I'm caught up. 

 

 

You are continuing to raise obscure points that seem borderline nuts to me. I like what you've done with them, all in all. I feel like you're putting in the work and have shown signs of looking deeper than your initial concerns at times. But really, is an "Umm" prefix the sort of thing you normally latch onto as an indicator? It seems so frivolous in the wake of quite a bit of content.

 

 

In all honesty, yes and no. I'm a big one for tone, and these things stand out as possibilities so I go for them. I don't actually put much weight to them unless the follow-up also bothers me. They quite potentially are borderline nuts, and like Pizza says, my approach garners a lot of false-positives for every catch, which is really frustrating for me when Town. And it also draws me a lot of heat which means I never really get to learn to Town more effectively (I have survived one game past N1 as Town since my first game - it was offsite and much slower/lower volume so I actually had spare time to think more broad - Penny can vouch). That's part of the reason why I have Cory as a mentor here. I appreciate you looking more at what I'm trying to do beyond that because that really is the point. 

 

Cory's plan for me so far was get me to voice my thoughts on everything and go from there.

I'm feeling comfortable with my read on her because that's usually how I play games when we're together. I read her as town almost with complete accuracy. You can ask Laine/Cass. 

 

If she turns out to be scum, all I can say is that I messed up. But atm, there's no reason why I should doubt my read on her.

What's your read on Pizza if you take out his distance from Zander? My take on it is he's giving Zander space to do his thing without tilting him into endless circles on D1, which is a good approach IMO.

I think Pizza has been pretty vocal about figuring out who he can trust as town.  He's been open in this regard and it comes off more towny than most players in this game.  I need to refresh my memory on what he's been doing on the other end of the spectrum, because I don't remember much scum hunting but until I ISO him later that's not really a fair statement.

 

I agree with the bold, but I was asking for your read/lean because I don't know whether any of it is alignment indicative when it comes to Pizza, I have a potential game-related scum bias against him and his null-posts freak me out lol I hadn't noticed anything either way about actual scum hunting. ISOs and previous game re-read required.

Alanna, I think that your description of Len's "old" game is not giving enough credit. Len was always a player that could come up with strokes of genius when motivated and engaged but frequently didn't really have the time to do so. (sort of like me for the past year or so). Regardless, I am aware that he has committed himself to improving his game in general. My point is that this is jokey interaction is NOT necessarily part of his game but is part of his personality. I don't think that has changed. 

 

I don't like your statement to him to basically just "shut up and accept your town read of him". It feels like you are saying "get back in my pocket".

I understand your point on the first part. As for the "get back in my pocket part" No. I'm not trying to pocket him. But I'm also not going to take back a town read just because the person I'm town reading doesn't like it very much. I don't really care if he trusts me or not yet, I care more that I have found a villager on my side.

 

#681 not a fan of turins reads list. Some of the reads seem very bland when he should have a lot more there. For example, he's got me as a low read because of something I said about him and because I'm trying to "pocket lenlo"? Putting Turin on ISO list for after work.

 

#704 I like cass' response to me here a lot better. @CASS I probably would have explained more on the cute comment if I was not at break and on short time. But it really wasn't meant to be any kind of read in the first place, so I don't really know what to tell you.

As for not knowing what I was asking you about, I need to go back and look because I think you mentioned an explanation that you had already given.

Additionally, I asked about your experience with Shad in relation to Shad/Lenlo at the start of the game. Mostly curiosity.

Pizza's certainly not an easy read for sure.  Actually there is things leading me to believe he's Town.  One being i do find he's playing similar to NBC for one. He's been sharp and making solid points.  It feels like he's trying to lead this village and thus far nothing feels forced or fake from him,  Were having some of the same reads which makes me feel better about him as well.  I know he's well capable of doing this as both alignments and theres a few things Im looking for they may make me rethink him but for now especially with a general lack of people really Town telling I feel pretty ok with this read.

 

Why Alanna and Len for you.  I dont disagree I just wanna hear your thoughts there.

 

Id also really like to see a reads lists with reasoning from you if you can, that also includes you Scum reads if you dont mind brother.
