Want to vote Celeste but hesitating hard.

Why? Is it because I randomly voted Cass? Or something else.

It's in one of the posts I just made in the past few minutes.

I would want to vote inside my nulls just by process of sorting anyway, but I had minor issues with your opener.

Shad, please attempt to describe your take on Lenlo's meta.

First ya Id like to hear your thoughts on Len's Meta.....and mine as well!!!!!!

Summarize everything I think I know about how Lenlo thinks and behaves as town vs as scum?

That's a long exercise, and one I find borderline counterproductive at this stage, and I don't really think of people as a list of dos and don'ts in the first place. The whole value of a meta read is that it allows you to catch people being dishonest in subtle ways that are not objectively alignment indicative.

I'll call what I see when I see it.

I like Penny for Town here. Will be interested to see Pizza's response.

More, gotta have more.

I'm hungry and these reads on folks I have null are helpful when they are supported by something.

commit to commitment. You can change later with reasons, just want something.

I have a question for all of you

You are on the side of a road walking down the sidewalk.

You have a gun with 1 bullet in it.

Two people are walking towards you.

The one on your left has a baseball bat the other is wearing a cowboy hat.

Who do you shoot?

When in doubt, shoot Nolder

You're going to be an interesting one to figure out.

You are demonstrating analysis but seem to be considering events on a somewhat superficial level. Do you think that Lenlo and I consider each other lock town? Do you think that scum would be instinctively inclined to describe themselves a a minority in the village?

Shad, relating to Cass:

I'm not looking at whether her methods are accurate or useful. I think some of the methods used so far have low utility, in my experience. But a roll of the dice will be right sometimes. Is Cass a villager? That's a far more important question.

I think she's demonstrated that she is. If you need more time to figure it out, I can respect that, but I wouldn't pick on her methods that much. That distracts from the alignment hunt itself. example Zander has different methods from me, I think some of them won't work, some of them will work a lot especially if used on scums, but I'm more concerned about is Zander town than how Zander towns.

One thing you'll learn about me in time is that my questions rarely serve their most obvious face value purpose. We are probably looking at the same thing in Cass, but I require further data to draw conclusions.

Trust is earned. ;)

Go ahead and back up your Celeste town read. Cite the posts you're looking at and the reasons you're using. Use examples (plural) of her acting that way as town and contrast with a scum game of hers.

You want to persuade me she's town you have to work at it.

I agreed with this. Liking Pizza's tone.

Why Lenlo over Shad? Shad can play a good wolf game and Lenlo is pretty null so far.

The being cute joke comment was saying that they're being really chummy. It wasn't meant to indicate alignments of either, but it is good to note for later in case one of them flips.

Red -- Based on our opening exchange, what would me flipping scum tell you about Lenlo, or vice versa?

I already asked that question

Oops. Forgot to go back and get Lenlo-Shad posts.

Shad Obv Town, 11 more to go.

Ok so Lenlo's lock town ldo.

Freaky double timing and calling each other Town. Insta-paranoia says they could have planned it if they are wolves (let's have each other lock-Town! Wolves never do that!), attempt at rational/occam's brain says it is actually unlikely for W-W to interact so much and then blatantly call each other Town so early in the game.

I'm trying to go with rational where I can, or you're all going to be scum in my brain for the rest of the game.

haha

I almost want to legit town read you for saying that when I did.

Lets take this game by storm, me and you against the world.

This was the one that stood out most and made me go back and re-read.

Basically, Shad sounded more carefree, Lenlo more controlled. I can't read Lenlo's bold but thoughts were if not sarcastic or good friends/frequently play together this 'against the world' (when Town is the majority) seems wolfy. Not pushing anything further, just an observation.

You're going to be an interesting one to figure out.

You are demonstrating analysis but seem to be considering events on a somewhat superficial level(1).  Do you think that Lenlo and I consider each other lock town?(2)  Do you think that scum would be instinctively inclined to describe themselves a a minority in the village?(3)

1. What's superficial? I'll tie things together if I feel I get a good handle on someone, if that's what you're looking for. (The posts your up to there are just a scatter approach: read, see what stands out, question looking for elaboration on motives, decide how the response feels/how much I believe, talk about what's in my head).

2. I don't know, I couldn't tell - that's why I asked Lenlo's opinion/meta of you and why I'm interested in your response to the questions on your opinion/meta on him.

3. Is that a convoluted way of asking 'Would scum call each other scum?' ? Possibly in RVS, but probably not both of them that early in seriousness, IMO. What do you get out of this question?

Going to brunch bbl.

MAKE SURE TO ANSWER MY QUESTION IF YOU HAVENT ALREADY!!

I don't like questions like that! I'm much more interested in what you think you're going to get out of them/how you use what ever you find/don't find. I'm not answering :P

For Cass Eyes Only

There FTFY. Let our current love shine to the whole game! Nothing seems different to your early SnakeTown game so far.

[v]unvote[/v]

Cos I forgot I'd voted you in the first place lol.

@ Pizza:  Please correct me if Im wrong but didnt you mention that lazy reads were a tell of some sort......

Mild reads which are easy to reverse. More of a tell later on when I've got enough to work with where I should have a solid read.

How much is 2000 words.... google says 4 pages. Spread that over many posts.

Give me 2000 words of game-related stuff that is mostly content, and I should be able to read someone. Give me fewer words, fewer posts, fewer content-related words and ideas, and my accuracy rating dips considerably. It needs to be a lucky "tell" kind of post, like with Dice in previous games. Or Shad's D1 kind of stuff.

The more open the player, the better this is. The more closed the player, I can be puzzled for a long while.

Cass has been a much easier read, one I feel I can make more accurately, given the type of posts she's done and the volume of them.

If I can't give you a read with that much content then I'm wolfing.

Want to vote Celeste but hesitating hard.

Why and why havent you?

I need more data on Celeste from observation. Like NotBob a couple games ago. My instinct says vote there but it's got nothing else behind it.

Hello, We've played together, I'm excited to be back. That's Celeste.

That's not enough to get a read off of and it feels very closed. And then there's a vote on Cass, which is null, but I don't agree with it.

Celeste is Penny elsewhere and I don't remember if I've ever played with Penny, I'm almost certain I have not.

Mainly that's a few posts and no read, and several people town-telling, and a generic opening and a closed player makes me want to vote there.

But more time will give me a bigger picture of the players I'm null on and Celeste herself. Gun to my head I'd vote there to lynch day one, but I bet I find something more solid, either on celeste, or on someone else.

Unlike the past several games, no one has made moves I saw scummy yet. That *does* happen. I had more pages to work with in other games when I began hunting.

But yes, if that's what my suspect list looks like, plus like a name or two in orange, by the end of day one, I'm usually scum.

Especially if the reasons are timid and not fully fleshed out, and the leans on many players feel reversible.

FWIW I've played with Penny more than I've played with anyone else (twice). I'll let her play a bit and when I think I've got a better handle/she's settled properly into a groove I'll compare her play more thoroughly with what I've seen. She was fairly closed but straight-shooting in the last game. Gut says she's probably pushing you for reactions, using the joke vote on me to test. I don't have a problem with that vote.

With the bold:

1. Why don't you agree with the vote?

2. Are you against joke-votes in general?

3. What are your own philosophies/tendencies wrt voting, when you're Town?

I can potentially understand the reserve, but I want explanations in your words. It stands out to me because so far I haven't seen experienced players hold back early votes as Town if they think the player deserves some actual pressure?

I can potentially understand the reserve, but I want explanations in your words. It stands out to me because so far I haven't seen experienced players hold back early votes as Town if they think the player deserves some actual pressure?

1. The target is my current easiest-read villager. That's unrelated to when the vote was cast, or even if it was before you started looking townie to me. I feel scums are going to vote for villagers more today than each other. When your vote is on someone I think is town-telling I don't care when you cast it, it still concerns me and I want to know more. Example Turin's vote on Shad.

2. No, but I hadn't any inkling it was intended as a joke. Missed the humor there if it was. Joking is part of the game but I do have issues when I can't see the humor in something and I generally read it scummy.

3. In general just to avoid voting for people I think are town, until it's a question of being required to make a choice between them.

Further, voting for someone I find scummy, or just to get the discussion going, or someone I have as null if I don't have any scummy people, or my scummy person is already getting multiple votes and I want to gain more data than just wagoning one person.

Why I'd hold back on voting someone is sometimes I'd rather draw them out more, whereas voting sometimes provokes a defensive / shutting down reaction. Example, I felt like I'd be able to read NotBob better a couple games back by not voting him, than by voting him. Plus I had a more scummy target for most of the game.

I had early suspicion of NotBob and Nolder in one game and I voted Nolder, and pushed on NotBob, and then I had early suspicion of Lenlo and tried to resolve it through pressure, and then when I got enough from him that caused me to see it was outside of a typical scum behavior, I dropped it and went after a different suspect. I thought that was much more useful in solving Lenlo than not engaging him because he's already an open player and drawn out. Nolder I had also pegged as someone who was a more open townie than not, but NotBob I felt was a closed player.

Closed players have a very different style from me, and pressuring them doesn't get a reaction. I vote them to lynch them, not pressure them.

I try to solve the open players with pressure votes more. Gets their attention, gets their reactions better.

But that's one reason in a stew of reasons why I'd vote a certain way. Sometimes that gets overridden by other concerns, so I wouldn't say I have a definite pattern here. Just some principles that shine through to the surface more than others, at certain times.

I think that's a comprehensive answer but let me know.

Sorry, lovelies. I forgot about this game while trying to fill in signups for my own game.

Anyway, I'm about to leave in a few hours.

First things first, I haven't played very frequently with many people.

I'd like to say from initial post reads, my two solid town reads are Cass and Celeste.

Enthusiasm and involvement looking good from Cass.

Celeste is town because of her tone. You'll have to trust me on this. Played with her a lot.

With that said, bye. *poofs*

Another tell for Celeste being town is her scum reading me. That's something I expect, because she's a lot more uncertain of herself as town and also absolutely can't read me. ;)

Who... are you? Have we met?

I like the vote of confidence (  ) but how am I a solid Town read? Seems odd, but I'll wait for your identity and answer before I comment on my lean.

WHO LET CSARMI IN HERE???!!!!!

loloololololol

Sorry, that was me

2.The being cute joke comment was saying that they're being really chummy. It wasn't meant to indicate alignments of either, but it is good to note for later in case one of them flips.

1. Explained this thought process somewhere earlier (after your post), lmk if something stands out.

2. Can you elaborate on what conclusions you would draw based on each flip?

It was the fact you commented an observation without giving indication of why it was important that stood out. If it's good to note for later, why? If you're Town, why not explain that's what you're thinking? Felt like commenting just to comment because it was the most interesting thing in the thread, but it didn't give us anything to work off - wrt to you, or either of them.

Yo! Cass, calm yourself. I'm not a wolf. Why are you wary of me?

I can't calm! I'm #CASSUNLEASHED!

And I won't believe you're just a wolf because you say so :P

Question: Why are you so serious here? I mentioned wary - not gunning for your lynch!

yet :P

For better or worse, I was wary because feels on the 'looking forward to some content' part of your first post; the Shad/Lenlo observation that tells us nothing; and you keep mentioning when you'll be back etc.

I'm going to reserve my actual read on you until I re-read our joint game (won't be reading it tonight).

FWIW I found this post very fair:

The one(?) time I played with Cass we were mafia together and she was extremely paranoid, but as far as I know her rampant paranoia is not alignment indicative. She is very analytical though, Turin's right

Slight points for not trying to use my paranoia against me. More points for arguing that it's null. <3 because <3. And lol for analytical.

I would actually say Lenlo (I originally just wrote Lenlove? wtf) a little more likely to be town than Shad, due to his willingness to give Shad a town lean like that.

For now..LenloShad

Is this a meta thing you have on Lenlo? (Can you explain?)

I don't understand how one can be more Town to you when they both committed the same action (calling each other Town).

I like posts like this from Cass. Makes me feel good about her.

Her last comment here for Alanna I'll touch on. I can't speak for Laine but I myself felt it could come from town Len. It's meta reasons for me. I haven't seen enough from either Shad or Len to have a read on them, but Lenlo I know better than Shad.

I will be in catch up mode for awhile since this is apprently a very active game. Will post more as I'm able to catch up.

Kaylee!

I like the feel of your posts. You don't seem to be reserved as you do when scum. I've been scum with you and as scum you tend to come across as being careful. This game you seem to be trying to figure things out. Basically saying things \pointing them out as you see them. You're thinking things through but don't seem to care as much how you're coming across... More focused on the game and less on yourself I guess is what I'm saying.

On Leno: As town he's more likely to say whatever pops in his head, less filtered. As scum he's very careful what and how he says things. As I said it's early yet but leaning town.

Shad/Lenlo being cute

Current thoughts on these two are that there's ?probably too much interaction and Town-Town calling there for them to be W-W. Lenlo possibly a more likely candidate for non-Town (but this with full disclosure that I'm reading Lenlo much the same as everything I read of his in the Diablo game and he flipped Town).

@Laine, can you explain 'being cute' and why it was important to you? Ie - what's your assessment of the cuteness in relation to initial reads?

sRpwCas.jpg

I'm slightly wary of Alanna right now...

Lainey, you a wolf?

Why Alanna? What did she do? Its page 3 woman!

I would actually say Lenlo (I originally just wrote Lenlove? wtf) a little more likely to be town than Shad, due to his willingness to give Shad a town lean like that.

For now..

Lenlo

Shad

Why me over Shad? We posted almost at the exact same time, so what makes me more likely to be town than him?

Really???!!!!

I dont think that is in anyway shape or form alignment indicative my dear.  Why do you do???

Agreed. Do people think that was a serious read? We were joking about cats and ice trays!

@ Cass, I would say that Lenlo posting in that manner is completely null for him (1). Also too early for it to mean anything about Shad as they were basically the only two in thread at that time (2).

Ty! (*Numbers added to points for reference)

1) What differences would you expect from Lenlo as either alignment?

2) Do you have a read on either?

I can believe Lenlo's tone is null, given my complete and utter misread of him in Diabolo. But still, this post stood out:

Shad, please attempt to describe your take on Lenlo's meta.

Also, Cass, who is Penny?

I like the first question here.

Penny is Celeste (and a million other names :P Penn :P ). I've played with her/both of us as Town twice, for a total of 2 in-game days.

Once on PersC where I advocated her mislynch cos she didn't make sense and recently at theOrg where she got taken out by Scum n1. She's a good player.

How is this question good? Its just asking who someone is, I dont see how this could be alignment indicative at all.

Also, which post stood out? I do like the question to Turin though, I would also like to see what differences he expected from me for either alignment

First part: Or its not alignment indicative at all and we were joking because we are friends? Or atleast I hope were friends. Shad, are we friends?

Second: The last line, bolded, stood out to me. Why mention this?

Prefix numbers with: and/or suffix with: ". "

Gives you one of these: Instant per-post notes.

And for you even lazier peoples, large spoiler containing blankness.

PS I will not be impressed by your fake notes scums, so don't try to copy me or Nikon from the last game. If it's useful to townies then it's useful, otherwise I'm going to give you this look when you're like "look at all the fake work I did."

Yeah.... No. Im not doin your notes. YOU CANT MAKE ME PLAY YOUR GAME.

@Cass, I would prefer to wait for Shad to answer before I respond there. I have no real read on either yer but am very interested in hearing what Shad has to say about Len.

I'm fine with this. I liked your question and want to see the answer too.

Taking it a step further.

@Lenlo:

1. Can you please explain why Shad is Town to you at that point?

Hes not? It was a joke. About cats, ice trays and breadboxes. Its not a legit read.

This is to clarify my town read on Celeste.

Don't call me crazy. This is a combo of tone and meta.

Hello

You might be thinking that I'm making a mountain of a molehill, but this is simple and no frills. That's towny coming from her.

Well, unfamiliar relatively speaking.  I think I've played with all of you at least once except Cass.

I think we played together twice if you were in raganorak.

Just a simple statement of fact. Not very jokey, which is what she uses more as scum.

Anyways I am simply excited to be back

Also before I head to bed [v]Cass[/v]

She's honest and to the point as town. Even if she joke votes, it's not done with a certain flippant attitude that I see when she's scum. More sass would be scummy, and usually she's super calm as well.
