Do you have any strong town/scum reads as of yet?

Dice is my strongest town read right now. Lenlo and Laine are weaker town reads. No mafia reads, far too many nulls

Pg1: null single post.

Pg2, 3, 4: nada

pg5: 92 is a multiquote talking mostly to nonplayers, takes no risks. 93 is not game related, 96 is not substantial. Basically, Thane hasn't engaged with the game yet. No judgments made there, just saying.

Pg6: Calls me a wolf for saying Nolder is a wolf. I'm not, and he makes no attempt to understand my vote, he's not even curious. That's bad villaging at the very least.

115 he redirects my attention to his calling me a wolf, which is worse, because it's as if he expects me to be impressed or scared that he called me a wolf incorrectly for zero reasons. I don't recognize this as a solving process. 120 his response to me doesn't even really indicate that he thinks I'm a wolf. So he's fishing somewhat impotently for reactions, or is a wolf.

Pg7: 125 Game has started but Thane is posting like he's still waiting for it to start, which isn't a good look after he called me wolfy, and expected me to react and hasn't followed up on that.

126 I still don't believe he thinks I'm a wolf here. Not sure what the wolfie comment was supposed to accomplish?

133 he's generically cautious about me. That's nothing I haven't heard a half dozen times this game alone, so it's nothing that goes outside of any boxes or takes any risks or really accomplishes much. I'm very critical of any kind of play that is expected, boring, and generic. Still talking about previous games, not engaging with this one. That's a behavior I am also critical of. 136 see previous comment.

Pg8 onward- nada.

 

That's what I get from Thane. A slow, riskless start which is generic and uninspired. No offense Thane. I just can't find reasons why this isn't your scum game so far. What's townie about it? What's solving about it?

 

You're either rand or scum, I can't find anything here which puts you at greater than random to be a townie.

 

It's early, that's the only reason why you're not a darker shade of red on my list. That's what I got. Want to reverse it, do something townie.

 

 

When you replied to Thane you sounded like you already had him as scummish prior to the wolfy comment, yet there's nothing in your notes prior to that to indicate that you think he's mafia.

 

On a side note this is going to be a fun game :)

What do you mean by awkward? I scratched off a Snow/Lenlo team because of this, I don't think mafia would 'distance/joke vote' then vote together straight away like that.

I haven't seen NotBob as scum except once or twice, and the most recent one I didn't even realize it was him until it was pretty much over with (on JetsNation).

 

As a villager though, I think he's fairly easy to spot. He's low-volume as either alignment from what I can tell, so I wouldn't say that's much of an indicator but the way he conveys his thoughts/reads is hard to miss.

 

We'll see how he progresses from here and I don't wanna write his defense for him, but as Pizza pointed out if Nolder or NotBob is scum then the hesitant read doesn't look so good for the other.

hello all. I've been reading the entire game through mailnotifications. Honestly, that stinks. You can't tell who quoted what and it's hella confusing.

 

My employer has decided to block DM, so I am unable to login apart from the little time i spend at home. That having been said, I'll still try to pitch in where needed and get this victory for town. I wanna go out with a blast, after all. 

 

What I've been seeing from Pizza a lot, no hard feelings, feels quite provocative. I don't know if that's your regular playstyle or not, but i wonder what you hope to achieve with it. In the end, town victory, i hope. You're the easiest player to read at this point, because you post... well... a lot. I have you as a slight town lean, and we'll see how that will progress throughout the game.

 

For the rest of you lot: I'll get a better read on you D2.... i know you better and i'll start connecting dots then *nods* I don't have an overly scummy feeling on anybody, nor a cleared town read. So, I guess we'll see

Can you put this into an actual case rather than this bulleted list sort of thing? I can sort of see what your getting at with Nolder but before I do anything on the matter I want you to spell it out for me. This way I can understand more where your coming from and get you locked down into a case on Nolder so you cant shift the goal posts/do scum things about it later on.

 

Basically I would like you to clarify this if you dont mind.

Fence sitting? Did you even read the rest of the post? I was asking him to put his case on you in less, more concrete words. The "I can sort of see" language was because the dude posts a small essay every time he cases someone. I was helping YOU by making him do a clearer writeup.

Honestly, Zander is bugging me. Theres not enough lols and I get the feeling he is trying to look helpful but got into to quickly because the thread got more serious than he could to quickly.Im keeping an eye on him and dont mind where my vote currently is, even though it was originally there for a joke.

I'm very skeptical that Nolder means nothing to you. I feel that you're aware of Nolder's alignment, and don't want to reveal how you became aware of it.

Underwhelmed by NotBob and Nolder's reactions to my cases on them, pretty sure there's at least one wolf contained within. Very satisfied with my D1 so far.

 

In other news, I'd cut Zander a break for a little bit. I know he's out of sorts but I don't think it's alignment indicative at present. I would wager we'll see old Zander back within a few days.

I already commented that Nomi wasn't allowing for a third option with regards to Notbob, the option where he just didn't have a read on me, and it started a big argument.

 

To be honest if someone were to ask Notbob now he'd probably have more of an opinion since I finally got around to posting but ya'll are too busy arguing about a null read from like page 5 or something.

I see you've mentioned you're very reliant on meta. Is your read on Dice meta?

It's not as useful, I want to know from people who read someone townie a lot that they're reading someone differently, and why.

 

It doesn't count if you guess they're always scum. That's the least useful guess to me because it's going to be wrong about 75% of the time, I might as well rand my vote.

You guess someone is always townie and you'll be right most of the time. I know we're hunting wolves, but town does better with leaps of faith and finding each other correctly, then the wolves can't hide even if they're not even behaving like scum, they've just been POE'd.

Response on what? If you mean why I had you as scum, I couldn't find anything. The closest thing was kind of a stretch. Blame it on finals delirium. 

 

I dunno, like, I sometimes worry that he is hiding something behind all those words. I know its stupid, which is why I havnt even tried to build a case or anything off of it, but its in the back of my mind every time I read him.

 

Pretty sure WoT used to be a scum strategy here and (are? were?) a scum practice on another site that some DMers play at. Can't remember more than that about it, but it's a thing. Not getting that vibe from pizza though.

Thank you both for noting that but I want to be evaluated on in game merits and nothing else.  I'm doing everything I can to summon my WIM cause I actually randed Town this time and trying to get into the game full swing.  

 

I will be away some of tonight and tomorrow so I'll do as much as I can in between but after that I'll really try and focus everything into the game.

 

 

Every time you say this, it pings me. This is the second or third time this game alone. It sounds hollow and like you're compensating. You would say that if you were a wolf too (or, at least, you should if you're playing to your WC).

Up until my most recent catch-up, I'm pretty sure the primary argument against Nol was meta. I don't put much basis in meta, it's way too easy to manipulate. I'm liking the current case on him, but I'm going to reread some stuff in a bit. 

 

I never said I found Dice scummy. I just wasn't getting the clear town vibes that other people were from him.
