Oh. 0% chance loki is cult leader. Wincon doesn't fit.

True. But I'm paranoid by nature, so it'll still be a possibility in my mind. But it's excedingly small possibility.

I'm not allowed to mention the names of the players I got a result on.

I'm a little worried at the fact you don't know this...

He said he didn't get any results back, so he wouldn't have gotten the speech about what was allowed to say or not either.

I have no chains! I am free!

Celeste and I targeted John Snow but we received no result from Kivam.

Also, I wasn't trying to put the blame on Cory, Mish. I think you're misinterpreting me. :/

I'm increasingly convinced that Pral may actually be town, after ISOing Mish and Talya (partially).

I don't want to quote your whole ISO, but thank you for that!

You're welcome :)

Interesting. Cory hinting at mafia having had the opportunity to talk before the game started, and then Talya immediately suggesting that Sili and I have staged our conversation. That's convenient.

I didn't pay too much attention to this the first time around, but it caught my eye this time.

What WIFOM are you pulling here? Are you guys actually scum together? I could see this going either way, so I'm just gonna note it for now.

Oooh.

Talya. :333

GAH DM dropped this from my quotes.

What a very convenient time to come to this conclusion, after he's already been lynched.

Rude. I was not looking at the thread while posting. I was attempting to finish up my ISO on you two.

Also, please note that I don't entirely agree with Celeste's way of doing things. She placed the vote on Pralaya, when I would have liked for it to be on one of my stronger scum reads. But I hedged because everyone seemed to want Pralaya gone, and I found him scummy, so why not.

i just had a fun little exercise making a color coded chart of people's reads lists (and/or compiling what reads they have given, if they didn't do a full list).

Very interesting.

It also served as a quick mini-ISO for those who didn't actually do a full list.  This is going to help me quite a bit, I think.

Will you share? Would be interesting to see.

I tried my best to use the most current reads list and interpret colors to mean approximately the same thing... i.e. if someone clearly intended null, I used gray... null to town was a very pale green, slight town was slightly darker... I only used blue for those who actually specifically color coded them as blue... yellow I used as kind of an FOS/something doesn't sit right with me when nothing else was specified for that player... if someone didn't color code their reads I only used red for those they voted or stated they were willing to vote, varying shades of orange for scum reads.   Hydras I listed separately on the left column because they gave separate reads lists, but together on the top row, because they were counted together in the reads.

Not everything is going to be a perfect representation of D1 reads, but I did the best I could late last night.

Spoilered for big.

I did this because, based on my character, I thought there was a fair chance that I might be vig (Thor was the other character that I thought fit better, depending on what roles Kivam decided to use), and if I was....well, I despise being vig, and I wanted to pick someone to target that half the game wouldn't yell at me for assuming - I knew who the people were that I felt least comfortable with, but I used this as kind of a measure of thread consensus.

I was also amused by the fact that this is probably the first time Lenlo has been read as town by so many people

I believe I will do it again for D2, because it helped me see the big picture, and trolling through people's posts for individual reads if they didn't do a full reads list forced me to take note of their content and helped me form more solid opinions.

I'll sit down and go through thoughts in more detail after work tonight, I have less than an hour and I won't have to finish and post.  But I have a 4 day weekend, so yay for that.  I will probably be lazy as heck at least one day, but I'll try not to procrastinate as badly as I did last weekend.

Fyi, just a note:

@Kivam and the rest of ya noobs <3

Celeste will be gone starting tomorrow because she's going to be in New Orleans.

I'll be in and out because two of my friends are flying to my college city to visit me for Labor Day weekend.

It's gorgeous, Tress. Thanks. This is really helpful. I'm going to use it. <3

Well until we see if those of us who got a response back get the same type of response D3, it's hard to say if it's just our targets that's getting messed with, or roles.

Scenario A, targets, means:

I am a follower (this is hypothetical, I can't confirm exactly what kind of result I got, Kiv's order), I target player 1, but get randomly redirected to player 5 and get results about them instead. When Loki dies, I will get the results of the player I target.

Scenario B, roles, means:

I am a follower and I target player 1. But as long as Loki is alive, roles and results gets messed up. So we say player 2 is a vig and target player 3. Then after all NA's are in, they are put into random.org and changed around. So mine and player 2's roles get switched around. That means that technically I targeted player 3 with a vig kill, and player 2 targeted player 1 with an follower action, and get the result from that.

Did that make sense?

I see both as just as likely scenarioes. Ragnarok means complete chaos, after all. And consider the OP of the sign up thread where one of the JN players who played in this said Kiv had a "sick, sick mind to think up a game as this", we can't see anything as too unlikely.

I think so. In Scenario B, when you switch with player 2, you keep player 2's role until the next round?

Posted

I think that it's entirely possible that there are roles that don't return results.

The OP says:

If your role is one which would normally return a result (Player X is town, Player X visited Player Y, Player X was visited by Player Y, Player X and Player Y are having a torrid affair ... whatever), you will receive that result as usual at the start of the next day, unless another player's action interferes with that.  You will not receive any other notification (no "action failed" or "no effect" etc.).

That means the following options are viable for the people who didn't return results:

1. Their actions failed.

2. Their roles don't return results. (This is what I think my role is)

3. They don't have a power? (can @Kivam answer this question? Is this even a possibility?)

There is no guarantee from the mod that every player has a role.  That may be the case, or there may be vanilla town and scum goons in play as well.  PAFO

As for a redirect ability, I think that it would have to be a role that didn't return results. And since none of us know our roles, and we only could submit one name to target with our NA, it is probably a random redirect ability.

Either player chooses a target and any actions that the target takes are randomly redirected,

Any actions that target the target are randomly redirected,

Just a nexus who doesn't even have a choice either way,

Or a random action is redirected to the target selected.

Those are the possibilities I can think of.

Okay, I got it. Thanks.

PAFO is a DM-specific acronym... Robert Jordan used to answer spoilery reader questions with RAFO, meaning Read and Find Out... so we DM mods have modified it to Play and Find Out.

Ooooo

 I like the direction where this is going.
