Cory, you were misreading my post, not me, in that you said I was looking to "support" you. As to why I'm rushing, there's been a deadlock string of single votes for a while, it's finally been broken, the phase does have a deadline planned for tomorrow, and I'll be busy and will almost certainly miss it, so I'm doing what I can to contribute now.

Kivam is setting a deadline tomorrow, the deadline is not tomorrow. Usually deadlines that are set are 3+ days from when they are set around here by DM "everything takes forever" standards.

And I wasn't saying I was looking for your support. I'm saying that if I decided it's time to make the tides move I'm going with or without you.

I'd love to see what you've concluded from the thread besides "x made a good case" or "why don't you make a case on x?"

Ok, understood.

And I'm saying that when you make the tides move, I might go with you, but not before. My point essentially was, if you're not ready to move on anything else, can you tell me why I really shouldn't have voted Talya, thinking that's what I had the time to do? And btw, even if the deadline tomorrow gives plenty of time, this phase is dragging on without showing much. The low-content players can come and talk whenever, but I think I see scum, and just as, if not more, importantly, I want the info that'll come out of acting on it. That way, I have more material to make more conclusions.

I'm fine with you voting Talya

I was not fine with the idea of "let's just consolidate on a wagon because I'm bored", but I sort of get enough of what you are getting at to let you do as you please for now

Also with what Mish pointed out with the Verbal/Tayla/Leelou chat it looks odd to be but I can't quite but my finger on it.

I cannot remember saying anything like that...

Maybe it was someone else and I forgot the name.

[v]Tayla[/v] It's a gut vibe mostly.

I'd like more of a reason than that tnx.

She just gives me a bad vibe with her posts. I can't really explain it well.

@Celeste/Wish - you said you were going to look at Lenlo - what did you find. What are your current reads?

^Talya

It looks like he or she is trying to get to the bottom of the things. I like the questions he or she brings up and the points brought up.

I agree with Sili's reasoning that she was halfhearted and contradictory in behavior. Additionally, she already has votes. If you're willing to vote and push your case against Verbal for poor content. And btw, going after those who have been absent and have said/done little is not the better course, as they can come in and do enough to look better, while Talya has been fairly active and yet has Sili's points against her. Going after people for bad content trumps going after those with little.

I don't think all of Talya's content is bad. Voting someone because they "already have votes" sounds ten times worse than voting someone who has "low content" and therefore can "come in and do enough to look better".

What posts of hers do you think are halfhearted and contradictory? AFAICT most of what she was talking about with Leelou was her wondering why Leelou was coming at me so aggressively. Not that scum wouldn't defend a villager in that situation, but I still don't get what's contradictory about it.

Yes. My point is, out of the people who I would vote now, she has votes, and is the most lynchable. I will be busy tomorrow, and don't think I have the time to start a wagon myself. So I'm joining one I don't mind that's already there, but if you start another one I like more, I'll join that.

& I love you and it's fun to meet players I haven't played with before and I don't mean this to be rude

But if I get serious about lynching someone I am going to get them lynched if I have your "support" or not

I'm not ready for action or a lynch yet. I'm all for letting the players with low or insufficient content post more, but I don't think we should limit our range of lynch to "active" players and let others ~coast on doing very little. Lack of engagement or desire to engage isn't always a wolf tell, but for the vast majority of players you see it again and again.

lol. You're misreading me, and if I may, being a little arrogant. This is not about supporting you. This is about that if you like other cases more than Talya's, make them and start the wagon if you want me or anyone else to join. Yes, we should wait for the low-content players to get into the game, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't lynch today. And here's someone with a fair amount of content that has been pointed out as bad. Why shouldn't I lynch her, and who instead? Answer that with a case and vote instead of being passive-aggressive.

im not so willing to give you time.

the red  I hate. You are leaning on sili's reasoning. Then you are talking like the fact that she has votes makes her scummy. Then  the second red sounds like "shes the easiest lynch so im down! i have no reasons but down!"

the blue   Again you language suggests you are waiting for other people to lead you so you can join. Why cant you start something?

If you are a villager one major suggestion I would make to how you approach reading players is not to get seduced by long posts. I especially see this at DM, where there will be heat on a player and they will post a big catch-up / summary post of thoughts and it will be long and people will skim over it, see that it talks about the game and players, and go "oh they made a big post, that's villagery".

I second this. There have been numerous games where as scum I would get away with doing absolutely nothing by just posting a massive catchup/summary post and people would clear me for like a day or two just on that. And I say just on that, because I really did jack all in a number of those games.

Or indeed liking something just because I agree with the points that are made in it, which I realise is what I've just done.

There's nothing wrong with liking something because you agree with the points. That's logical. Don't let it affect your view of the speaker's alignment by itself, though.

Tilts u 2 dice?

The machine just got knocked over

He seems to be that sort of player.

Fwiw it tilted me too and I had to take a second to get over it. It seems to me from what you bolded ocicat is being very direct about thinking about who he wants to lynch. It's very results oriented. Whether this means he is a wolf or loki is less clear, but it brings me back to his first game content post that I tore down. I can see a town result oriented player overreaching. I can't see a wolf result oriented player doing that as easily.

Oh hey eldrick.

I know you won't change your vote cause I tell you this, but it's still laughable. It makes me suspicious of you the longer you keep it on me because you got no good reason for it other than vote hopping which is what I do every game (just ask cory!) and I am not seeing much progress on your read either. You're in limbo, floating.

Eldrick does feel somewhat different this game. I can't point out anything specific as of right now since I'm at work, but the thought just struck me. I'll try to go back and look when I get home today.

Only for Town!Sooh [Eldrick, if you read this I will assume you are mafia and lynch you today]:

To be completely honest, although he might have some quirks, Eldrick's really improved if this is his scum game.

As far as I remember it has been a few games now since Eldrick was scum. When he got back from his hiatus he had several scum games in a row, so I imagine getting a few town games in there to kind of remind him of what that was like would improve his scum game.

I will go back and look later today though. It might just be that we're not agreeing on things, and not that he's necessarily scummy.

Mish I remember one post that I really thought was villagery from Eldrick and it actually wasn't a great post just something I thought he wouldn't think as a wolf (lol)

Is this what you have in your head? I haven't reached it on notepad yet but I remember it distinctly

I don't tend to have very many "good posts" so I'm glad you're figuring it out through other means.

Out of curiosity, which post was it? Just like to know how your brain works a little. What catches your attention.

For Talya's eyes only, if you are legitimately curious about Sili, here's what I have in my notes through ~page 7:

Sili

Votes John Snow (#6)

- Votes Lenlo (#10) - is Sili being this reactionary a good sign? He seems to overplaying his meta; he’s self-aware that he forgets to vote a lot of as a wolf, so him making a concentrated effort to vote early and often feels more like he’s trying to play to what people expect of him as a villager and not actually genuinely browsing the thread and poking his head out.

“Bored of Lenlo” (#14), switches to Sooh.

- “I am hurt Tina” (#14), dismissive and trying to not look concerned. Not really buying this from Sili.

#20 Meh, not sure if this is villagery or wolfy from Sili.

+ Probing Sooh on vote on Tayla (#22)

This isn’t a terrible post (#27)

- Takes shot at easy target Ocicat (#71) - wolfy even if he’s right, huehuehuehue

“Most of the thread is town except Cory” (#114)

#22 is sort of interesting. Sili and I have played together a lot to the point where he knows what I expect of him in both roles and could figuratively think of some game plan in which he could try to potentially fool me because he knows I am always going to be looking hard at him.

If you want meta on him, his ranges are pretty balanced. Rather than give him a road map to any newer tells I've picked up I'll just be loud and annoying if he hits on anything I've marked down in my brain.

Right now, my level of confidence in my read (if I had to sort the 4-5 players I have reads on, he'd be one of the lower ones, but that's not worth much so early into a game). Some of his posts are okay, and I might just be going insane and overthinking things, but I think I should have a decent read on that slot by EOD.

When Leelou and I were mafia together a while back, I absolutely used the "roadmap" angle to not want to talk more about her on thread.  Just humorous that you used the exact same term in the exact same way that I did as scum.  Just sayin'.

:-)

a weird idea. cory and i aren't close like that plus when is the last time leelou and you were mafia together?

IIRC they were mafia together in the SW game. Verb was the mafia hydra on the team with Leelou.

Ok, I see a decent case, and I'm getting bored. Vote: Talya, although anyone on Sili's list is fair game.

I'm having trouble with this post. Why is Sili's list fair game to you? Why are you justifying who to lynch by someone else's list?

Or indeed liking something just because I agree with the points that are made in it, which I realise is what I've just done

Are you saying I can't leave my vote on who I think is the best choice before I go to bed, and then to work?

My reason for voting you is a valid one. I have been treated as scum for the same reason I am treating you as scum. For changing my vote frequently. Is this not a valid reason?

FWIW Cat is now scummier than you are, so that's where I'm going. This doesn't clear you, and if you are town, you have some work to convince me.

[unvote]

[v]Cat[/v]

@ Ocicat Please let me know if Cat is an acceptable nickname for you. I feel it fits.

On a side note, I'm getting really annoyed by these "For X's eyes only" spoilers. Can we please stop?

To Lenlo:

I'm not gonna go back and MQ or get the post number. If you really care enough, you can ISO me. My comp is being really sluggish right now, so I'm going to recall from memory.

I made the comment about being disappointed about Kivam revealing Loki's wincon. I was expecting it to not be revealed, being he listed mafia and town, but not Loki's, in the signup thread.

You read what I said and took it as annoyance that Loki's wincon was public knowledge. The reason I am suspicious of you is because of your view of annoyance. I hadn't even considered Loki's POV in the matter. The fact that you did makes me question if you are Loki.

Posted

You better not have opened the spoiler...

I haven't opened most of the spoilers lol. Spoilers are annoying.

I took a stab at what you said by Sooh's response, though.

Posted

Yo eldrick hypothesizing about lokis pov when someone says something queer about lokis wincon isnt unusual. In fact loki isnt like to respond to a conversation so close to the heart without a plan although thats just a guess.

Eldrick. U r loki arent you? Which is why you are projecting and why your reads are floating. Does a town start planning to reaction test for loki days before game start when loki isnt the real opponent?

Doubt it.
