Im gonna ISO or atleast look back at Wish/Celeste and try and gather some thoughts on them later today.

Looking back (I'm on page 13), I feel more confident in John Snow as town. He votes for Sili based on knowing Sili's style (saying he's off), which Dice tries to shoot down by saying he can't know what Sili's style is. JS then goes for Sooh in a back and forth which demonstrates he does know something about her style, and then he unvotes her.

It looks to me like provoking two people he feels he can read well, and trying to rule them out, which would be good town solving.

What do you have so say about JS's vote on me later on? Still provoking people or what? Curious what you think.

Certainly could be provoking. I didn't think his was a good reason for voting for you (bc you were being helpful and posting post counts), so it could have been done just to see your response. You then gave a good response, and he subsequently cleared you on that basis (I presume, as he didn't quote you, he just said

Feeling better about Lenlo too. Not cleared by any stretch, but I'm going to [unvote].

Not actually a whole lot of substance to go on, but I don't see it as being wolfy yet.

Bolded blue - Not fully understand this, how does it explain things can you (Mish) please expand on that.

All of Len's actions that I reacted to made way more sense when I saw him explaining him trying to change his playstyle. I liked the way he responded to me originally, but I was struggling to put that together with the part that made me uncomfortable. Did that make more sense? I cannot words today.

Mish, do you have any further reads from your last one (nearly two days ago).

I think I like Eld so far. Also Tab.

Do you still feel the same for those you thought town?

Yes

Who do you have now in your scum pile?

None atm.

Bold is me. No brain capacity to split up the quote all nice.

PS the 85-player Mafia Universe launch game starts later today so hopefully I'll rand villager and then get fear dayvigged in the first ~hour by the wolfteam so I can keep my focus 100% on this game.

Launched the notepad back up, through #500 right now.

John Snow

Sili
Songstress

Sooh

Mish

Lenlo

Feel more comfortable with this list as a place to start working from for me.

Mish I remember one post that I really thought was villagery from Eldrick and it actually wasn't a great post just something I thought he wouldn't think as a wolf (lol)

Is this what you have in your head? I haven't reached it on notepad yet but I remember it distinctly

Pretty much, it just means "random", IE the random distribution of roles at the beginning of the game.

So someone being > rand wolf means "They are more likely than to be a wolf than the random probability they would be randomly assigned it by the moderator" and the same for > rand villager.

But yes for the most part of I say someone is "= rand" that's pretty equivalent of null; they are still at the same inherent probability of being Mafia (in this game around 30%) than they were at the beginning of the game.

Cory only:

I remember you scum reading me day 1 and 2 and almost lynching me day 1 when I was a seer. You also scum read me several games prior to that when I was town which made me sad. You tend to scum read me very early always.

You know that's not how I work D1 hon. Tone and feel are more important to me that specifics until I have some flips to judge interactions.

I specifically referenced that game in my last quote. I did not scum read you day 2, I townread you as soon as Yakmelk flipped at the end of d1. Seers are wolfy, LDO.

That's literally the only game I misread you past d1 afaict. Sometimes it's not immediate, but you can't blame me for not immediately knowing. I'm only psychic sometimes

I have literally no idea how to read Eldrick on tone or feel because he thinks in a heteroclitic manner and always just seems weird to me, so I guess we just will be seeing different things.

I'll have faith you know what you're doing

I have no idea what I'm doing, but my stomach tells me things, so I listen

Seriously, does anyone else ever feel like they have those days where you just can't form proper coherent sentences? It feels like my brain is only functioning at 50% today.

For Talya's eyes only, if you are legitimately curious about Sili, here's what I have in my notes through ~page 7:

Sili

Votes John Snow (#6)

- Votes Lenlo (#10) - is Sili being this reactionary a good sign? He seems to overplaying his meta; he’s self-aware that he forgets to vote a lot of as a wolf, so him making a concentrated effort to vote early and often feels more like he’s trying to play to what people expect of him as a villager and not actually genuinely browsing the thread and poking his head out.

“Bored of Lenlo” (#14), switches to Sooh.

- “I am hurt Tina” (#14), dismissive and trying to not look concerned. Not really buying this from Sili.

#20 Meh, not sure if this is villagery or wolfy from Sili.

+ Probing Sooh on vote on Tayla (#22)

This isn’t a terrible post (#27)

- Takes shot at easy target Ocicat (#71) - wolfy even if he’s right, huehuehuehue

“Most of the thread is town except Cory” (#114)

#22 is sort of interesting. Sili and I have played together a lot to the point where he knows what I expect of him in both roles and could figuratively think of some game plan in which he could try to potentially fool me because he knows I am always going to be looking hard at him.

If you want meta on him, his ranges are pretty balanced. Rather than give him a road map to any newer tells I've picked up I'll just be loud and annoying if he hits on anything I've marked down in my brain.

Right now, my level of confidence in my read (if I had to sort the 4-5 players I have reads on, he'd be one of the lower ones, but that's not worth much so early into a game). Some of his posts are okay, and I might just be going insane and overthinking things, but I think I should have a decent read on that slot by EOD.

When Leelou and I were mafia together a while back, I absolutely used the "roadmap" angle to not want to talk more about her on thread.  Just humorous that you used the exact same term in the exact same way that I did as scum.  Just sayin'.

:-)

a weird idea. cory and i aren't close like that plus when is the last time leelou and you were mafia together?

Posted

Interesting. Cory hinting at mafia having had the opportunity to talk before the game started, and then Talya immediately suggesting that Sili and I have staged our conversation. That's convenient.

Mhm

yeah. it was very much in the open too. o.O

I have heard someone say in the last game about him not voting enough for his town meta, so interesting that you brought that up.

Thanks for that.

@ Leelou, if he was Mafia, why bring it up. Not that I think it makes him either alignment on that. I don't think Kiv would let them talk in their thread, but 4 days to think through you strategy with or without your team is something to bear in mind.

If he would be trying to use it as a way to incriminate someone, then why not?

Would it not have been better to see what he did from there, now he is unlikely to. So the point is lost.

??

If he's town, then he wouldn't want to bring it up so that it would be more effective to catch scum.

If he's scum, he would and should bring it up to gain town cred for the 'thought process'.

So you agree with leelou I take it?

Fwiw, I think Cory is pretty spontaneous so he might mention an idea for reactions rather than a long term plan. Pretty much null for him imo.

Posted

@ Leelou, it's not bugging me, but I think your reason for voting is nullified, so it makes it interesting

So you baited Cory, but it doesn't bug you that Leelou ruined your reaction test?

I take you point. But also bringing it up also makes others aware of it to look out for, as I said before. At the moment it is a null tell for me.

So I've defended Leelou's point and you've defended Cory's.  As the proper 'seconds' in this mafia duel, let's dance!

/pewpewpew

Yet I'm not seeing Verbal talk with Lee. Uhm, talya, verbal, lee = 1 - 3 scum.
