Sergeant Jeffrey Rabin wouldn't normally have come to the docks himself, but Agent Kujan's enthusiasm for this case had infected him, and he was determined to see it through.   The Department of Justice guy Kujan had called would be here any minute, and while he figured they would board the ship together, he should have a careful look around the perimeter to save them some time.

 

He literally stumbled over Dean Keaton's dead body.  Pausing to check for a pulse, he was too distracted to notice the figure to the left, aiming at his head.

 

Csarmi - Sgt Jeffrey Rabin, The Cops Mafia Goon - has been killed.

 

 

Daniel Metzheiser had responded to the call from Dave Kujan as fast as he could, but a flight from D.C. to Los Angeles wasn't exactly an instantaneous proposition, and then he'd had to suffer through the Hertz car rental business to get a compact car to take him to the docks.  How they expected a 6' 4" man to drive a compact car without sitting in the back seat was beyond him.  Metzheiser was cranky as hell and his joints were aching something fierce when he arrived.  

 

As he unfolded his frame from what had to be a clown car, he pulled out his cell phone to call Sergeant Rabin, who'd promised to meet him down here so they could inspect the ship together.  There was supposed to be some evidence on that boat they could use to shut down a dangerous foreign gang.  Leaning against the car, phone pressed to his ear, he was listening hard to the staticky ringing on the other end, which went quickly to voice mail.

 

Reception was terrible down here.  Raising his voice by instinct, he started to leave a message...  "RABIN, IT'S METZHEISER FROM DOJ.  WHERE ARE YOU?  I'M...."

 

He was shot twice in rapid succession.

Jake was smarter than Bruno, ten times out of ten.  He'd been nearby when the big dumb brute was shot, refusing to move from the spot Redfoot had stationed him.  Well, at least the big lug wouldn't have to suffer the wrath of Redfoot.  Jake and the rest would take the brunt of his fury when the fence realized he was down an employee.  Jake might just have to slip away and look for other employment - preferably in Mexico or someplace else Redfoot wouldn't think to look for him.

 

Jake was trying to recall snippets of his high school Spanish when he noticed the subtle flash of red light across his vision from the left.  Unfortunately, he didn't have a mirror handy, or he might have seen the faint dot of a laser sight on his forehead.  The second dot, sliding in from the right, stopped over his heart, and he looked down to see that one just as the dark figure with a third gun stepped from the shadows and fired.

 

Overkill might be a bit of an understatement.

 

Pralaya - Jake, Redfoot's Gang Mafia Goon - has been killed.

Mod note:  Please provide feedback on the day deadline - we were planning to do 48 hours, with extensions for weekends, but you guys have been hammering quickly the last couple of game days.  If you are OK with 24 hours or 36 hours in this case, please let us know.
