Leelou, I was voting darthe to get a reaction out of him, plain and simple.

0% the soul read was simply for fun, ad i figured by placing a vote, referencing it people wouod realize it as a joke. Which most did mind you.

It's page 7...point me to somone who is actively scum hunting with only half the game checked in leelou.

The reactions I got towards the post however, will help towards hunting.

Red is reasonable. Green really isn't when you are someone who I know makes serious votes early in a game without much to back them. If you're town, try to keep in mind that it's ok to look derpy sometimes even if you really aren't. This reads to me like you're digging for an out rather than explaining your thought process.

I'm gonna try to not reinvent the wheel here or give seph an out. His actions were simply wolfy. the only reason to not vote there yet is that that read isn't locked.

Since when has that bothered you? Why were they wolfy?

BFG, no big thing. When i asked who hadn't checked in, I was trying to go back and forth cross referencing posts against the roster and couldn't keep track of who had posted and who hadn't, other than Tina.

With seph's post it struck me as odd because while i remembered darthe posting i didn't remember much about what he had said that would justify the read, so i went back looking specifically for his posts. That's how i missed that leelou and talya also hadn't posted by that point ... i wasn't looking for it because i had misremembered when their first appearance was

Maybe Darthe, but I'm not really sure why. He's not being as proactive(?) as I expect, a lot of his posts are to do with why he doesn't like a post, and not drawing alignments from them. Not sure how much to put down to his new job.

In general the thread feels full of small, bitty things that feel out of place, but I suspect in the grand scheme of things don't really matter.

Didn't have any read on them at all at that point, but thought they'd at least been posting.

Full disclosure, the idea of "tone reading" or "soul reading" jokey banter at the start of a game drives me completely up a wall. It's absurd, because anybody who's any good at this game will have fun when they are scum or town, will be jokey as scum or town, and will have plenty of WIM as scum or town. But I know that some people here swear by it, so when Seph busted out a "soul read" I wasn't going to get back into whether the entire concept is (a) crazy or (b) dangerously crazy; either way, if he's a townie, he believes it's effective (or potentially effective). But while I (wrongly, it turns out) remembered Talya and Leelou interacting a lot, which would give a "tone reader" at least something to work with, I didn't remember Darthe interacting much at all.

Hallia or Tina, for the same reason they're almost always my choice on D1 ... because they slide under the radar without contributing much, and if I don't have a better D1 scumread, my default is to take out the players who aren't contributing in hopes of nailing lurking scum - or at least avoiding an enigma that needs to be dealt with later in the game.

Can you explain your reads on Kivam and Seph up to this point?

Seph's attitude is very different here than in Star Wars. He's playing with confidence and swagger where I remember him as defensive and insecure. His more recent games should tell me if this is his new norm. Supposing for now that it is since no one has called him out for it, the big thing that bugs me is the explanation behind his Darthe vote. He contradicted himself explaining his thought process, as I see it, and I don't get how that happens if he was being honest. But he's putting on a show of trying to solve. Three votes and a lot of accusations didn't frazzle him much. It's not the Seph I towned with two months ago but that's not scummy in and of itself.

Kivam is interesting. I feel like he's all over the place. I want to interpret it as trying to shake things up and keep the game moving. He's having a go at people who haven't been sussed at all (Sooh, Tina, Hallia, me before I got into it with Seph). That's productive at this stage, if it creates some inconsistency. He got on Sooh for sussing me over the Seph vote. That felt weird, but I'm not seeing Sooh's scum game at all here and he might not know what to look for. I don't have a clue what is normal for him so meh. I want to like him.

No, you didn't "get on" me as much as you were discussing semantics. I was also not a huge fan of the language you used to describe my post. Saying that I'm "running away" from a description and pegging it as "not a good look". It sounds like you're having an agenda behind this post. Whether that is because you suspect me of something or because you are setting me up for things to come I don't know, but it's noted.

Blue - What's a good example of a game where Seph was wolf?

Red - I saw no profit before. Now I have more good Sooh vibes and a decent post by Darthe to work with. Kiv's reaction concerns me a little because I get the eerie feeling that he knows I'm town.

As for Seph, I don't know what to make of him. I expect him to do goofy things that look bad but his reactions to me are different from our last game together. I'll keep my vote where it's at for now and see how things progress.
