Corvhins Bonfire! (Out of the Dorms)

Recommended Posts

Hello All!  I have been given the great honor to Invite all of you Novices included! To my Bonfire!  There will be festivities of all sorts, There are four wheelers for everyone, a huge mud pit to ride around in, sparring competitions for those of you needing to hone up on skills or just want to have some old fashioned boxing matches.  The grills are lit, plenty of steaks, burgers, pork chops, ka-bobs of all types, even shrimp ka bobs wrapped in bacon and cheese, for those of you who enjoy a few hard drinks plenty to go around, (even moonshine for those country folk) For the novices, who I assume are not to consume alcohol we have Ice Cream punch that is especially good and refreshing in the heat of the night. Plenty of music and other festivites.  Feel free to join in.  I have been informed that many members cannot attend the bonfire in the Dorms, so I am making a second one here for everyone.  So come on in and Lets have fun

Now your goal is to bring me pain with this sword. I want to hurt. *bows formally* it is good form to bow to your opponent in a sparring bout. Your mission is to deflect my advances and keep me from striking you, when your blows hit me I want all your effort and might put into it. Does a few practice flurries with you, until you've been suffiently warmed up, then advances into the attack striking you on your left rib cage, guard yourself and be mindful of leaving yourself open

First of all, Blom. First of all, don't hold your sword like a baseball bat. One hand grips beneath the quillons (the pokey bits that guard the hilt) while the other grips just above the pommel.

Secondly, there is a defensive gesture known as the True Cross. Maintain your blade so that, if it were an infinite line, yours and his would intersect in an X or cross. If he maintains a stance from the right side of his body, hold yours from the left side of yours. This creates a barrier.

Also, maintain the tip of your blade so that you look right over it as it appears to be level with his eyes.

Now, proceed.

*channels Air into soothing drum rhythms*
