@Eldrick - that's true enough in a nut shell but I don't think he's been wolfy. I can see how some might find his vote badly timed or whatever, but he's caught a lot of heat on it and I would think a newer player like him probably wouldn't double down and tell people to stuff it.

Why do you think this?  Would it surprise you/change your opinion if I told you I know for a fact that Eldrick is NOT new to mafia?

I wasn't particularly fond of the way he reacted to Sooh voting him earlier.

Too bad so sad, imo.

The way he postured around Seph and the EP wagons made me uncomfortable then and still does now in light of EP's soft balling and Seph's later profession.

You say "posturing," I say "resolving." *shrug*

He hedged on his read of Zander saying he liked the post but also leaves himself open to possibly move there later.

You say "hedging," I say "RESOLVING." *shrug again*

I also think he went over the top complimenting Tina on her posts and I'm curious as to his focus regarding me and my read of her. He also made a comment towards her early on that basically soft balled a town read on her slot. I haven't really decided how I feel about the entire interaction completely but I could see scum!Yates doing this as a pocketing attempt on a town!Tina

Of all the people in this game to pocket, you think I'd pick *TINA?* Does she strike you as someone I could easily pocket given our game history and her style of play? That strikes me a bit like you accusing me of trying to pocket a honey badger. The fact of the matter is that Tina's post was EXACTLY what I needed to see from her to get a good read on her. And she hit that thing out of the park. I have precisely TWO strong Town reads at this moment - Tina and Sili - and I think I made those reads pretty clear.

TBH - I would have expected someone to accuse me of buddying Pizza [hi, Sooh/Corn!] given the childish man-crush posts I've lobbed in that direction. And that would have required some explaining but Tina? I think that's a fairly clear READ.

Oh, and the throw away vote on Alot that I forgot to mention.

Oh. I'm sorry. Is Alot not on your team? I don't have mod provided knowledge on alignments so for me that isn't a "throw away" vote.

He's done a lot of posturing around some players that were being discussed at the time but I don't get the impression he's really pushing in any direction.

I feel like I had to make this argument to Seph wrt Sili. Not sure why I have to ask YOU the difference between Yates "posturing" and Yates solving the game but help a brother out?

For instance he talks about having Seph and EP wagons being a good thing but never really drives either of them.

Was I in a position to drive either of those wagons? Pretty sure I was commuting home/making dinner while that drama played out.

For him later to throw a vote on Alot seems too easy and doesn't come with a lot of accountability.

I'm the ONLY person voting for Alot. Pretty sure that's why you are trying to characterize it as a throw away vote. How am I NOT accountable for the only vote on someone? A "no accountability" vote is sheeping onto a big wagon and saying "yeah - I agree with everyone else on this wagon" not being the only person on one. Step it up, son.

Hi Yates.

Just found out AJ is trying to build a wagon on me. LOL That's fun.

It will be interesting to see how people react. I noticed EP join in, I think, but I'm not read up to there yet...

I plan on reading your posts and AJ's posts in detail today. It'll just be in chunks.

All of this communication was based on my feeling on Zander. Yet By Yates' own words he likes Tina's case on Zander. If you're under the assumption I were hinting Mason as you say you are, why are trusting a case on the only person I defended?

Oh I'm sorry, did you hard claim something somewhere that I missed? No? Okay then, I'm just going to go ahead and read Zander independent of your possibly maybe but could be not sort of soft claim. I can like Tina's RATIONAL independent of the accuracy of the read. You understand this, yes? Short of you hard claiming or somehow confirming your role? I think Zander is objectively *looking* scummy.

well without directly answering my question you did answer my question.

Does anyone have any specific questions for me before I log off for the night?

Sure. Why do I feel you could be scum this game?
Probably because you aren't Town. That's my hunch, anyway.

Ha. I can't say I didn't expect this sort of response.

Let's dance then, Dusty.

I'm curious now about your statement earlier when I initially had my reaction to her post. What were your thoughts?

I think you summed up my thoughts nicely here:

I think the point was valid and with the whole misquote thing I may have reacted in a knee-jerk fashion. Still seems weird to me but maybe she just wasn't paying attention. To quote Leelou I probably jumped the gun there.

I don't see why you would think a misquote was at all alignment indicative. It was quite clear to me, even at the time, that she quoted the wrong posts. I had a note to ask her wtf then saw that she had rectified the situation. That flow did not come across as even remotely suspicious.

It struck me as careless and kind of sloppy. Like I said, if she was going to use someone else's words to +1 and then vote, I would think she would've chosen the right ones. She basically HAD to correct herself in that situation so I don't think that point really stands. Not all scum are going to be super clean and sharp, and to me my initial reaction was that she legit bumbled trying to jump on an easy wagon. The fact that I had for some reason imagined more votes being on Zander due to the amount he'd been mentioned didn't help.

Sooh (2/13): Hallia, Zander

Seph (1/13): Leelou

Yates (3/13): Sooh, AJ, EP

With 24 alive, it's 13 to lynch!  Deadline is 12:15 AM EST on Wednesday, the 13th.

Why are you telling Seph to refer to a player who has exactly one game's worth of experience with you to judge your playstyle?

I decided to check and see what the terms were for deadline in this game, since it's coming up soon. I can't find any. Darthe, is this a hammer game, or hybrid hammer, or what. If we don't have enough votes, what happens?

Let's dance then, Dusty.

Okay but I should warn you; I've seen "Breakin 2: Electric Bugaloo" at least once.

It struck me as careless and kind of sloppy. Like I said, if she was going to use someone else's words to +1 and then vote, I would think she would've chosen the right ones. She basically HAD to correct herself in that situation so I don't think that point really stands. The fact that I had for some reason imagined more votes being on Zander due to the amount he'd been mentioned didn't help.

So paint me a picture. If Tina Scum is hopping on a wagon for bad reasons, why does she HAVE to correct herself? Look at the timing, if nothing else:

She makes her post an vote at 05:15 here.

If you look at that post you will see that she says she likes a post and agrees with a post that makes no sense in context. And that's in a multiquote post. I think the fact this was a multiquote post is why I'm more inclined to believe it was a quote fail/copypasta error than not.

She looks at her post after hitting submit. See's the fail. And less than 2 minutes later says "oops, quoted the wrong Sili post."

And two minutes later she posts her corrected post at 05:20 here.

So some items of note:

1. *IT'S 05:20 IN THE AM!* Who would even be awake at that time as a potential scum partner to tell Tina she messed up? [as it turns out - only Sili and maybe Eldrick]

2. There were ZERO POSTS between her vote post, her oops post, and her correction post. Those three posts were consecutive. It's not like someone responded in thread to apply pressure or direct attention to her weak quote. She quite OBVIOUSLY recognized it on her own.

Could Tina be scum? I guess. But it wont be because she fumbled a Sili quote. And at least you know she wouldn't be with Zander or - likely - Sili.

I think the better indicator for me is post 550. Even if she's ultimately wrong about Zander, that is such a villagery process that I don't know she duplicates that as scum. The only fly in the ointment, here, is something I alluded to earlier. In multiball scum ALSO have to find scum. So I *guess* this could be scum team A Tina following a village process to try to find scum team B Zander - but I don't *think* it is. I just don't.

@ Yates you hurt my feeling when I asked you something and you didn't respond.  You did kinda in answering another post.

That was my first question, actually. Was if you thought I answered your question in my previous post because it appeared you did.

Second: pretend that Tina isn't voting for "Zander." Pretend Tina is voting for "Pander" and all those posts she's quoting and referring to are about a player named "Pander" of unknown alignment. Do you think her case makes sense and follows a village process? Or do you think she's making stuff up and stretching the truth in places?

Posted

Well I think she made a good job of explaining A thought process though said process was based off of a complete stretch read.

It's 1AM and I've taken my melatonin and am ready to turn off the brain.   Sili always baffles me, as you may recall from previous games I am not good at reading him and generally dislike the process of trying to figure him out.

As for Yates I'll try to look at him tomorrow since I never trust him and don't know what to do with him so far.

AJ was a gut read, like Tina, off the cuff, based on my recall of skimming a lot of the game.  I really don't have the energy or desire to re-read and ISO people to form solid reads just now due to the size of the game and the wordiness of quite a few of the players.

Ta, look forward to it, sleep sweet :)

I was going from what I remember.  I didn't play the Labyrinth game, and have very little memory of reading through it since the theme was unfamiliar and I wasn't particularly invested in it.

Regardless, the point I was making was regarding how you play as town, and unless you'd like to claim this matches with your meta as scum, I'd think you'd rather leave it be.

I was just listing out a bunch of games where I was at the peak of my play. I was trying to remember which games were my best on town side and the only one that really comes to mind was the Psyduckery. However I had a few other decent ones.

Cass was specifically asking me to explain my wording with regard to my read on you. I explained.  Your thoughts on which games were the best examples of you play are kind of irrelevant to my point.

he was specifically asking for my style on both sides. So I filled in with more acurate information

SHE.  And SHE was asking me to explain MY perception.

FWIW, tired snarky Tress is right and seems closer to her Town meta here for me, for now.
