This is the most confusing game of Mafia I've ever played.

Anything major I could help clarify?

No, not yet. Just sifting through posts and getting a handle on everyone's style.

Sooh:

Her vote on Seph

Hey guys! I've been trying to catch up while you've all been running away from me

This is definitely a bigger game than I'm used to. I lean towards believing Yates for now though, so [unvote]

I did expect Seph to be much more involved in this game, so he's my biggest lead at the moment for where to find scum.

[v]seph[/v]

she doesn't say whether he plays more when he is town or when he is wolf? Sooh - Has he played less when he has been Scum?

she then goes a little further in her justification:

Why?

**snip**

Because I have played with him in every game he has played on the site, and he has always been super involved and done a bunch of work to solve the game. His less involved attitude makes me question him big time, so that's why I put my vote there.

Again doesn't mentioned when super involved whether he has always been town, both or Scum, so not too helpful.

now the question of whether Sili is voting...Darthe posted at 10:32pm (my time ) (her's is 10:35)

Oh mod with the mostest... is Sili voting or not?

she explains that Darthe had Sili voting and in the not voting pile...Darthe edited his vote count at 10:40pm (hers says 10:48pm)

Sooh I think you're seeing things.

No, he edited his post. He had Sili as both voting and not voting.

To be honest, I can't see the fuss over her mentioning the Sili count, If I had seen it I would have mentioned it. The only thing that brings it into question is the timing of the questioning. he replies that he is voting at 10:40 and then he says a "Scene is coming" at 10:43. If he had had something in his PM box before then he would have put the Scene thing up. So there is a very narrow window for the PM to have gone through.

The others around that I can tell are Tress, Lynne, Sili and EP. any could have looked at the Vote count and put it in then, if it had been before, Darthe was around to put the post for the scene up.

To sum, it was either crap timing or she has accidentally implicated herself. I didn't like her vote on Seth,  it was an he isn't around to as much so I will vote for him. Puts her higher on my wolfie radar.

@Talya - it doesn't have to be a PM.  Scum likely have a QT, and Darthe/Clov would be on it.  There are many ways they could be informed of a pending action.

Thanks I thought of that after I had written it. I still think it leaves very little time for the vote count to go up and then the scene coming on.

I know that too AJ, it's a way of starting to build a picture of things.

My opinion on it after reading from where I had to leave for work yesterday is that the thread flow seemed to be moving away from Yates.1 so scum essentially had to act quickly or else miss their chance at a claimed PR.

Hi Andrej. Maybe the role is more common where you play, but the "BP VIG is SK 9/10 times" is definitely one I've never heard of. I've only seen one place where someone that shoots at night is automatically protected, and that IS the SK role. Never seen it anywhere else though, so not sure why you'd be so sure that you wouldn't unvote.

So you've seen SKs with NK immunity before? That's what I'm talking about. A BP killer in a multiball game is much more likely to be scum than town imo. At least that's where my head was at. This is also in conjunction with a lot of other things, but overall to say the least I didn't believe him. And technically I wasn't wrong either in thinking it was a lie.

Hindsight.

FTR, I disagree with this......but I understand it is very subjective and I don't hold that against you.  I'm just saying this for posterity in case we have another reveal along these lines.

YOU never voted Seph and put your money where your mouth is. YOU trying to discredit me is not a good look for you.

Please read below:

I'm not lynching a claimed vig. If there are equally armed factions in this game, a town vig would be reasonable. Scum will resolve him, or a Cop can at some point. But he's off the table for today, at least.

Then who do you want to lynch?

Probably seph.

That first post by me is pretty clear on my final stance re: Yates.  Then you asked me who I'd vote, which makes me feel like you'd be looking for ideas.

I answer with PROBABLY seph.  Not sure why you and Sooh think it is reasonable to FoS me for saying "probably" and not actually placing a vote.

The more you guys try to pass the suspicion onto me, the more it is going to fuel your own lynches.

"Probably" is more along the lines of fence sitting and doesn't look good either.

Is this going to be your theme today?  Take small potshots at me to distance from being seen as tied to me and also see if anybody (other than Sooh) else will latch on?

I'm tempted to do something that I've never done before, and actually thunderdome you.

No, it's not going to be my theme.

It will be a waste of your time if you are town, but I can take you on if that is your desire.

I get that idea as well...I think before they thought they might get a clear vote on him, and then he claimed and I'm sure they would have discussed it in the QT before submitting it.

I've noted/been considering most of the same points WRT Yates. Subjectively though, neither of you are coming across as convincingly Town to me. This should be interesting to watch...

I may suggest you defer to your other head to get a better read on me then.

Where is he btw?

The bold is a little snarky and not really necessary if you're Town. Monstr and I play very differently, not sure there was any point other than snark to suggest that I defer. There were several things about both you and Yates 1.0 that were pinging me as off, reading interactions between the two of you was interesting - and I'm still not convinced that you aren't Scum.

Posted

I didn't mean to come across as snarky. That was a legit statement because I'm pretty sure I have more overall experience with Monstr and figured he would have a better idea on how to gauge me.

Have you guys been speaking at all? I'm noticing some disconnect in your guy's reads, it's almost like you're on two different pages of the same game in the same slot and that's weird to me.

The grove in which they camped at night was an old grove, detached from the regular forest and somehow separate in feeling from the evil of the rest.  The group's fire had been small last night, of habit more than necessity, but the crackling warmth it once provided dwindled to embers long before the sun rose.  It was the slow rising light of day that brought your camp back to life and brought terrors to light from the shadow before.  There, spread between two trees back in the darker parts of the grove, stretched the sticky cable-like tendrils of a web too large for any normal spider on Middle Earth.  It reached back into the trees and pulled branches together like fingers of evil trying to envelope the forest.  A few elven warriors gave cry and drew the camp near.  There, beneath layer upon layer of goop, were the vaguely charred and slightly melted remnants of a breastplate.  In another place a gauntleted glove was found.  Here a boot, part of a foot still attached.  A small multicolored spider crawled out of it and warranted a quick arrow.

It took far too long to figure out what had happened to Elu Thingol.  Finding him took nearly an hour in all, his head mostly blended into the web by the color of his white hair.

Zander - Elu Thingol, Town Mason has been eviscerated by spiders.

The group was so enamored by his revolting death that it took them a long while to realize that one of their party hadn't woken.  There Tulkas lay peacefully under the cover of an old gray elvish cloak, the blood from his slit throat mostly hidden by his beard.  What could have done this to one of the Valar?  When the cloak was removed his body faded in a white light and Tulkas was no more.

Tress - Tulkas, Town Vanilla has been found dead.

It is now Day two!  With 21 alive it takes 12 to lynch.

Any impressions? Even if they're general, I just want something to work with so I can try to figure out your view point this game.

My reads from before the Yates lynch:

AJ is anti-town.

Sili is villager

Sooh is a scum

EP is scum lean

I haven't seen too much to change my mind since then. I need to reread the pages leading up to the lynch, but I'm happy to run train on those three.

As far as general thoughts on the game thus far:

Not comfortable with getting off the fence regarding Verb and Leelou. If pushed I would probably fall off with Leelou scum and Verb town but atm it's pretty much a toss-up imo.

I'm alright with Pizza for the moment.

I like Cass as town.
