Come to the north of Wales sometime! It's much prettier (Edinburgh's all right I guess). Whereabouts in Norway are you from? one of the trips I want to do sometime is kayaking up one of the fjords :) plus visiting Svalbard, partly because of the name, partly because of the bears <3

Yeah I'd love to see more of Wales. It looks magical in pictures :)

I'm from about an hour north of Oslo, so inland. No *real* fjords here, though they do call a couple of lakes fjords as well.

Oslo's fun. Unfortunately my fail safe method of navigation failed there :/ heading downhill took me to a fountain somewhere in town instead of the ship :/

It also rained  a lot!

It's been a LONG time since I've been that way though, I think it was when Deathly Hallows was coming out

lmao, you didn't have to change it. I agreed with your original assessment. I'm not a city girl at all and Edinburgh's too busy, too dirty and too touristy for my taste. That's not to say it isn't worth a visit. The castle and Arthur's Seat are amazing and there are some incredible museums and galleries but, yeah, I'd rather head north which is what I did with Myst. Away up the west coast to Fort William so she could gawp at the Hogwarts Express viaduct lol.

Some really cool fossils around Arthur's Seat *nods

I haven't really spent much time in Scotland, just the ports on the eastern coast; Aberdeen, Montrose, Peterhead, Lerwick (way way way up north ), Edinburgh was more a sanity saving exercise when we'd have week after week stuck in port without a lot to do in the middle of Winter (good train connection along that coast)

Very jealous of the Potter stuff!

I like it up there. I'm from Fife (St Andrews area), but my Dad lived in Aberdeen and later further north when I was growing up which meant my school hols were spent there. Not as far north as Lerwick obviously lol. Then I went to uni in Dundee so yeah, I'm very much an east coast girl. Why ports? Oil industry?

Well let me know if you ever head back over....

And yes, Oslo is too flat for the *go downhill to the sea*-trick. It's a shame it rained so much.. Usually we give the title "Rainy city" to Bergen...

Sooh just a warning to ya, Bandy tastes like socks,  Flaming shots ehh I suppose they can be alright, but Guiny is awesome!

And... does this impression of the drinks vary in accordance with regiment?

Lol, I totally heard this joke about Bergen once...

So Bill Bryson had spent a week in Bergen and it had rained every day so he was a bit depressed and asked a passerby if it ever stopped raining? The boy looked up at him and said 'how would I know, I'm only 6'

No, bandy does taste like socks, it's a key ingredient in the brew making process  Flaming shots are the best, but I'm not much of an ale drinker :)

I do love a good Bergen joke.. LOL

Somehow I am not fond of drinking socks... I think I'll stick to the shots myself....

Bandy does NOT taste like socks! *glares* don't let them fool you. Just cause they burned off their tastebuds doesn't mean they should pick on other regimental beverages. ;op

Wait a minute! Drink of the mighty and best regiment?  Oh I know!

*takes the bandy from Sooh and replaces it with a nice cold Guiny*

Okay now you can enjoy!

Now horse riding can be fun when they are not stepping on your foot most of the time, but fighting on horseback?  Such a pain!  All that running around for only a chance to get a hit or two before turning around and running again.

Archers....well that isn't even fighting!  All they do is shoot a bunch of arrows into the sky making things hard to see.  At least it gives the real and best fighters some shade.

Now what to do with this bandy?

*runs off looking for Dice's horse*
