Because he was in my scum pile and his last posts were scummy. I honestly thought he would flip scum.

There was still plenty of time though to use in this phase.

Scum never self vote like that. Well, hardly ever. And I would not attribute that kind of play to Thane.

I've done it as scum when I knew I was caught. As for Thane not doing it I don't remember him ever doing it as town before either.

For the record - I also think that was scummy of Thane. I couldn´t see the point with his selfvote if he was town. I thought it was a bluff.

What I'm having trouble with is 1) that you joined the Thane wagon over voting one of your other suspects and 2) the people you have listed as scum reads in the first post. Why Tina and Red? and 3) that you seem to be the only player with Leelou as a town read. TMI?

Status report: read up to page 63. So I´m almost there. Now the skiing begins and that goes before mafia. :)

 

I´ll post my notes later (probably when my daughter has gone to bed). I´ve collected the notes a little different than I use to. In short: I have listed all the suspicouns of Leelou, Kay and Crusher and then I´m going to compare them to the notes I had before on Hallia.

Night 3 is over. Write-up incoming...

Verbal32 was having great difficulty trying to sleep. Probably because of that moron.

 

"Try your luck on the Wheel of Chance! Only three dollars, win great prizes. Come try the Wheel of Chance!"

 

A barker in the game corner just wouldn't shut up. His microphone must have been linked to the Carnival's PA system, as he could hear the man anywhere in he moved in the entertainment district. He didn't want to leave this section; it had the best lighting and was central to most of the attractions, so if his friends would find him anywhere, it would be here.

 

But it had to be past midnight considering how long ago the sun went down; and this man would just not shut up.

 

Verbal32 closed his eyes.

 

"One spin on the Wheel of Chance, friend! All your dreams could come true! Yes, you, Verbal32! Try the Wheel of Chance!"

 

So much for sleeping. He jostled up, mood mixed between confusion and morbid curiosity, he scanned the game corner of the park.
 

One man, only a little far off into the distance. Verbal32 headed in that direction hastily. The man was still blabbering into his microphone as he approached.

 

"Hey, how did you know my name?"

 

The barker grinned at him, teeth missing from his smile, his eyes cavernous black circles. "I know a lot of things. I know that you'd like for me to quiet down, too. But you see, I have a job, friend. All you have to do is take a spin on the Wheel of Chance and I'll have done my job. Understand? It's three dollars, just three dollars."

 

Verbal32 rolled his eyes. "Whatever you say," he mumbled, pulling out his wallet.

 

The display had plenty of prize lined up on the top walls; mostly stuffed animals, but this was apparently a "big prize" game, as he saw a couple of cased tourist trap prizes; a boxed iPhone, an mp3 player - you get the gist.

 

The wheel itself was unimpressive. It had a small metal podium and a couple of rungs; maybe 50 different covered tabs that concealed the prizes. A sign under the wheel said "win a prize every other spin!" - Verbal32 was somewhat dubious of that claim but handed the barker his fee.

 

"Well, what are you waiting for? Let's see what you win!"

 

Verbal32, barely concealing his annoyance, stepped on the podium and looked at the wheel. He placed a hand on the main rung and give it a hard push. The barker walked in close, watching the wheel spin in delight.

 

"I have a good feeling about this one, friend! A very, very good feeling!"

The wheel started to slow. 

Click, click, click.

 

It stopped over an orange tab after a few more clicks.

 

"Well, let's see what you've won on the Wheel of Chance today, friend!"

 

The barker greedily removed the orange tab to reveal the prize. But all that was under the cover were two words:

 

NO CHANCE.

 

"Oh, I'm sorry! It looks like we have a loser here, today!"

 

Verbal32 shot a dirty look at the barker, but the man was already fumbling back toward his station. There was a small lever under his booth. A sticker on the bottom read "NO CHANCE". What was going on?

 

The barker pulled the level and the metal grating above where he was standing suddenly gave out. "Down he goes!" the barker cried with glee.

 

Verbal32 has met an... "unfortunate" end.

You hide out from a sudden downpour of rain in a small stable near an abandoned farmhouse. Throughout the night you are startled awake by the a flurry of strange noise coming from the empty pens.

 

BUC-KUK! BUC-KUK!

 

When you head out in the morning, you pass the empty pan and inspect closer. Absolutely nothing; you are starting to worry that you are sanity is slipping you by. You shake your head and head back towards the Carnival. Hopefully you can find Brad soon and get out of here.
