Case on Kay

tl;dr

- her vote on me is ubber opportunistic and establishes a scummy pattern

- she latches onto the Sili discussion as a legit scum hunting tactic and trys to keep it in focus

- labeling herself as a "weaker player" comes off as trying to appear un-assuming.

So the mafia recruits before the rand. Then the stronger the mafia player the more tempting the recruit is, so I think it's good to discern their allignments first. I think most people pick at least reasonably competent mafia players as their partners, so commonly held weaker players should get less attention today (i.e. me and dice) since our rand chance is 1 in 13.

I think this approach puts the most pressure on people like nyn, but I think that's for the best. We just need to be cognissant that individuals who are good at being scum are more likely to be scum in this set up. Though this isn't to say we don't take out scummy players if we spot any.

Makes sense to me.

all of her early D1 content is aimed at encouraging Sili's game starter. not for being a game starter but as a legit hunting strategy.

Feels good to be back in a Mafia game, I can feel the juices flowing already.

I'm with Nyn on this subject. Highly circumstantial and would vary person to person depending on how the randomization went. The part I don't like most specifically is suggesting the focus be on a certain group of players who are considered better than others while the remaining are theoretically given a pass.

I'm not caught up yet since I went to bed early but wanted to comment on this.

I personally have no plans to give anyone a pass. Sili's idea made sense to me in the fact that I always pay more attention to stronger players. As I said before they have the best chance at fooling me.

Secondly it made sense as it's something I'd do as a weaker player.

That said I basically don't trust anyone until I read them as town.

here she builds on the WIFOM and then theres the fact she calls herself a "weaker player". i dislike the "weaker player" brush she's tryign to paint herself with. coems off as her trying to seem unassuming.

No use talking about who we think is "strong" or "weak". All it will do is get people defensive for being picked as strong, or defensive for NOT being picked as strong.

Reading the first few pages, it is not easy to get initial reads. Based on Sili's opening posts, the responses by people like Nyn, AJ, and Nolder are very easily made by town or scum - therefore, I'm marking that entire discussion as null.

Until it was pointed out I didn't notice how he called himself weak, and then he says something about being able to make strong reads on people. That contradicts so I wanted to add a pressure vote. I was wanting to see how he responded. With his recent posts I think he's sounding better. More genuine.

Red: the fact that there's only 20 posts between a first and second list of suspects, i find that a very short time to change your mind or get better reads on people. It makes me suspicious, very suspicious. I think that one of those was just posted to put something out there.Your recent posts aren't too bad, but i'm going with my gut feeling that you're not trying to escape.

AJ: i don't know why, but yeah, there's something off this game. usually, we get to the point where we're happy town together, but i don't see it happening just yet. I can't remember his posts. And i don't know why. I can not clear him as town. Not yet. Perhaps later.

Leelou: imo, you can't from an opinion or a read on someone just from skimming the thread, which she appearantly did. Makes me wonder if she knows more or not.

Re: Nolder - I'm currently leaning town on him. As scum I don't believe he would have mentioned the "lulz vote" - too risky to get attention. That's a small detail, true, but he currently isn't on my list to keep an eye on.

Silli still seems to be caught in the "shiny object" syndrome. Introduced a topic and pretty much carried the early part of the game. not feeling him for scum. Just shiny

Verb: Playing almost too townie for my taste. Getting in and playing "Hall monitor". Commenting what and why people should be feeling about what people are saying but not really sticking his nose in yet. I could kill him for the thrill of it.

Nolder: did not read his long drown out response to Sill's pot. He is not soap boxing about what he does and doesn;t like the way he has as town last couple games we played. I could kill him too.

Leelou: playing reactively not really engaged yet. Kinda waiting for questions and answering. Not enough to comment. Not wann kill her cause boobs.

Nyn: Best for town. She is doing what she does as town. Providing her opinion , good content and prodding players. this is town nyn. Still cause boobs won't kill.

Dice: Not familiar with him. He seem to interested in defending his funny vote on me that really did not need to be defended. not familiar with him. I could kill him too.

Kaylee; reminds me of a bobber when I go fishing. Just bouncing around in the ripples of the game. Not really sure on her yet. Could kill but not that excited.

andrej: his last few post ring town. not familiar with him but the tone seems to fit the place the game is pretty well. Wont kill him. yet

Halia: tough one for Crushlove to read. Very tuff actually.

Tina post have been pretty solid this game. She is a good town read for me.

Also you didn't answer my question. What changed in that time to move Tina from suspicious to nothing scummy?

i had her as scummy cause clearing Sili in the way that she did raised the hair on my neck. it still does, enough for me not to move her above Null.

Thane's placating tone to Sili in his mini meltdown raised my hair as well, hence the start of my pressure on him.

unlike Thane though, Tina's had posts that came off as legit scum hunting, so she's back to Null until i get more info from her

I liked Crusher's read list. His explanation rings true. I also think Red touched some good points in her Kaylee ISO. Kaylee has been way too agreeable and following others. I haven't really seen her producing much of an original thought. Could vote there too.

Dice: prob won't vote him today - the insulted reaction he had to Sili's suggestion of weak sounded townie. I feel that scumDice would have accepted that as a way to fly under the radar.

Kay: could vote based on my prior suspicions, but she keeps bouncing between townie and scummy practically every other post, lol

Thane: I literally have no idea. His way to play is basically commentate on the game, but without casing or prodding for reactions. His style makes him impossible for me to read. I've sworn he was scum and helped mislynch him more than once.
