there's not much else to say, so i guess I like Hallia's content. I think it's because her reads feel very 'halliaish'.

Moving past that, Tina kind of had a cold opening was hoping for a bit more from her.

Verbal is on top of his game today imo gonna keep eyes on him.

I'm worried about Hallia this is the type of behavior she has when scum imo. A hit and run.

Crusher and Red both had typical posts but glad to see they aren't MIA.

 

Hmm after thinking about it only two people I'm worried about right now are Thane and Dice.

Thane I just haven't seen anything notable from whatsoever and Dice got kind of defensive over the "strong/weak" thing.

Which to be fair could have been just a natural reaction to being called weak.

 

I'm going to vote Thane for now and see where that goes.

my impression of dice is he thinks a lot without posting, and when he posts it's often angling something or being inflammatory. So far his tone is good, but I think people are right when they say we need actual reads from Dice.

 

The way people have explained Dice's wolf game is he's one of those slanking, and I assume self-conscious, players. I get the impression he emphasized his bluntness because he identifies that with his town game.

 

I gave you reads in my first post. And no i said im blunt because thats what i am. my best mates wife calls me "Bluntly honest" and its not always a compliment.  And im not slanking im working while you lot are lazing around posting.

 

Dice is firmly in the scumlean pile for me. That vote and invite came off as a distraction attempt.

 

Also the Dice/Sili stuff feels forced. I don't like it, it doesn't come off as townie or legit to me.

Your right it does. and thats because it IS forced. and thats cause its me forcing it. Sili backtracked on page one. It caught my attention and i immediately wanted to go at him for it. Problem is I did that last game and while he did end up scum he wasnt when he pulled that backtrack. I tend to go pretty hard after sili cause he does stuff i find scummy a lot but doesn't have the sort of tone i read someone like Thane with. And ive been wrong on him often. I also agreed with your post about an eerie feeling. but i am actively trying to NOT jump on sili for the same sort of stuff as i normally do. Keeping that in mind im actually leaning town on him. only leaning cause i am aware that my instinct wants to lynch him.

1. I'm not avoiding the thread. Had the game started Tuesday during the day, I would have been around more. I was completely stressed with an impossible deadline my boss gave me yesterday and a snowed in transit system. 

 

2. Red - I didn't even see Nyn's post when I was posting this: http://www.dragonmount.com/forums/topic/92636-escape-from-the-carnival-of-horrors-game-thread-day-1/?p=3416293, so in no way shape or form did I back away from saying I liked Nol's posts. I never said that I had him as town, just that I liked his posts. 

 

3. Nyn - I liked the fact that Nol wasn't being lazy in his posts and was addressing current events with a level head. I have no problem with him saying flavor would affect how he might decide to vote, I'd expect that from him as either alignment. 

 

I'm ISO'ing people as I'm in the middle of getting ready so I have some solid reads. Reads coming in a solid list in a few (3-4 depending on the train) hours. There are a few people I really want to focus on and dig through that have caught my attention on my initial read. (Dice, Crusher, AJ, Red, Thane)

I need you to voice your thoughts as they are, without using them to try to make yourself look better or put yourself in a better position. Because it comes off slimy. My beef with you isn't really bringing up the topic you did when the game started. We can agree to disagree on it. It's how you were conveniently using it to keep focus off of you. The game just started at that point.... you had no pressure on you whatsoever.... so when you feel the need to keep yourself out of the spot light it does quite the opposite. Your top priority should be scumhunting. Let the rest of us worry about reading you and where you might land in everyone's reads. After people dish out their reads list you can choose to comment on them. But preemptively talking yourself up is not a good look.

 

With that said I kinda liked your response. I think there's a good chance you're derping and being stubborn. I'm getting the feeling you're legit offended and I don't think it's something you'd be able to fake. Hence retracting my vote.

Not a fan of this post. First of all, I do think there were things to comment on by that stage. Which you kinda proved when you went ahead and talked about them.

 

You've noted impressions of Verbal and Tina. You expected more from her. Verb is at the top of his game but you're keeping an eye. What does this translate into? Are you leaning town on Verbal and scum on Tina? It's unclear. Then there's the comment about AJ going back to the null pile..... Who do you have in your null pile though? Scum pile? Town pile? I'd really like to see you making actual reads, because you seem to be dancing around it, Sure, you said you're mostly worried about Thane and dice. But then admittedly say that dice's reaction could be a natural reaction to being called a weak player. So which one is it? And you're worried about Thane cause he hasn't done anything notable? That's really vague. Not to mention that he's not the only one who hasn't done anything notable. Plus no offense to Thane.... but not doing anything notable at the beginning of a game is not really indicative IMO.

Halli is a low post count player, regardless of alignment. She posts in sporadic spurts. And you know it. Don't really like this push. Also I felt pretty okay about her recent posts.

You used it as a game starter, congrats. Its use is fulfilled, continuing to beat a dead horse now only comes off as scummy and a distraction.

I don't care what someone does in a different game. Meta only carries you so far in reads and relying on it like a crutch will bite you in the butt. My play style is specifically designed to make my meta 90% innacurate with reading me. Others use the same tactic BTW.

 

And its less of a derogatory comment as a backdoor way to discredit my reads. Its my interpretation of what you said *shrugs*

I've talked about a lot. I'm not focusing on mechanics at all. I don't understand how I'm beating a dead horse.

 

Tina isn't you, but that withstanding, at the least you would have acknowledged Tina was capable of making the same read as town because she's done it before. I don't know why you didn't bring it up if you knew Tina was in her town range.

 

I still don't understand how you came to that conclusion. Is go-getter a bad word in your experience?

2nd - with Dice its not the fact he was joke voting, its the timing of it that pings.  i made that clear when i pointed it out.

 

3rd - its the entire interaction between the two of you, starting with you linking both of you together as "not top scum picks".  its coming off gambity imo

 

4th - your continuing to draw people into a discussion about who the scum might or might not have recruited and base reads off that.  i call that beating a dead horse.
