Dr. Kate Murry was worried. Her husband and the twins were sitting with Charles Wallace, keeping vigil over her small sleeping son.  His illness was acute, there was no denying.

 

She couldn't sit still, so she took the opportunity to slip into her lab and try one more experiment with the isolated farandolae, hoping against hope to find a cure in time to save her boy.

 

There was a chill in the room that went beyond the normal autumn bite in the air.  As she sat before the microscope, she was gripped by a crushing pain, immobilized, unable to call out.  Her vision dimmed, and she could almost hear a dark voice chuckling in her ear.

 

Despair washed over her, but in the last moment, her thoughts were of hope -- hope that somehow, Charles Wallace would be spared.  In hope and love, she gave herself over to the darkness.

I find most often that wolves tend to stop participating at the end of the game and just let villagers argue for a while.

 

So if people argue for a while they're probably villagers endgame.

Proginoskes had become very fond of these earthlings, even the boy Charles Wallace who had referred to him as dragons.  He was especially fond of Meg, who had worked with him through these tests, who had connected so deeply with him, whose earnest hope and love was so strong against the powers of darkness.

 

The Echthroi had attacked Meg hard, but Proginoskes gave of himself, helped fill the void the Echthroi was forming, and pushed away the blackness for a time.

 

This time the Echthroi came for him directly.  There was a great cry, and a tempest of wind.  Wings, stretched to their fullest span, and all his eyes, opening and closing and dimming.  The cherubim was pulled into the void in a flurry of wings and wind and fire, and the sound of all the hurricanes in the world howling.
