Actually, From here (initially), I’ve decided that my vote has not yet changed. My main Scum read is still DPR and, until I find something that indicates otherwise, my plain is: Watch DPR like a hawk, (and the way other people are weighing in on him to boot), and try and figure out if Sili's lynch has any clues to any others who might be scum.

 

OK. *takes a deep and nervous breath* And also, while I have the chance/before the game goes too much further, I have something very important to Town - but not important to current play to share - and, in the interests of being upfront with Town, I want to get it out of the way as soon as possible. Please take a seat (spoilered below for irrelevance to current play).

 

I feel I should give everyone fair warning, this is probably gonna be a long and overly noobie Cass-type explanation, and you should still probably all go ahead and take a seat. I learnt a lot this past 'day'. Including the fact that if this game goes on for any great length of time participating the way I have to here is not going to be sustainable or healthy for me at all. For reals. *laughs*

 

I already warned you that I work 12-14hr shifts Mon-Wed and will obviously be quiet on those days due to the fact I rarely, if ever, get breaks. What I didn't tell you (cos I actually didn't realise it would be THAT relevant until I actually experienced/found out  a) just how long some of these games take;  b) just how much I got insta-addicted and suckered in by the strategy of this game *rolls eyes*; and c) just how much it sucks staying up all night to deal with the real-time chat-in-a-different-timezone thing and still trying to maintain a real life ) is that my hubby just found out he scored a new job interstate and our moving date is Dec 29.

 

Obviously, that means that I've got a lot of RL organising to do in very little time. Since I can't change the date we move, and I shouldn't be so crazy-ass about a ‘game’ that it has such negative effect on RL, it will probably/most likely be inevitable that I do not play as crazy-noob (as often) from here. THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT I AM SCUM. I promise.

It just means that I have evaluated everything and made a decision, and then (miraculously, given my strong personality flaws in this area) have somehow managed to force myself to play to that decision and not almost kill myself (or others) because I'm stupid/already hooked enough to try to do it all.

 

YES, I know the practicalities of this look shady. I know this explanation is wordy and probably over the top. I've told you before - I hate being misread/misunderstood. This is me trying to make myself very very clear. I will probably – and SHOULD definitely- get quieter as the game goes on. And I will STILL be Vanilla Town. OK?

 

Also, while we're at it, those that kept looking out for my health and sanity and encouraging me to go to bed in the previous day – (Dice, Thane, Kiv.?). Feel free to go right ahead and keep on doing that WINK. It helps, somewhat, with reigning me in .... unless you're scum, and you're doing it for your own advantage… Then it kinda sucks and you probably should stop. :P

Also I think Wombat looks legitimately wolfy for his posturing near EOD yesterday.

 

He acts like it was a "near-CFD" he led, but SILI WAS THE LEAD WAGON THE WHOLE TIME. Furthermore the "results" of his reaction test looked entirely sided towards assuming Sili would flip town (also his thing about me looking worse with a Sili townflip was absolute dogshit), he even said at the end "hope Sili flips SK" which smacks of TMI

 

I think Wombat saw himself getting town read yesterday, and his whole demeanor changed. Started posturing a lot more, acting generally obnoxious like a wolf grinning to himself about being miscleared. I think he felt he would be able to fairly easily "lead" a lynch on Sili and keep DPR from being CFD'ed upon

 

This is actually not a bad point.  I saw that too - but I have a different read on why, and I think your tunnel on Wes is not helping you think this through, since you're viewing everything through that prism.  IIRC, Wombat's play changed just about right after I pointed out to Cass that a SK wants to be in the muddled middle, because looking too townie will get them night killed.  Prior to that comment, he was playing about as strongly "straight up town" a game as I could ask for.  After it, he started playing differently.  Not necessarily overtly scummy ... but there was a large shift in his game play.

 

So, question/challenge for the group: Go review Wombat's play before and after this post on page 44

Are you insane?  You do understand that if you are hard claiming seer - which is what your last posts look like - you are dead tonight since with the JK dead there's no townie role that can stop a kill, right?  I was trying to give you some cover, you goof, but you've blown that pretty hard core.  The other options are you are really committed to seer cover and willing to die for it as a vanilla townie - which would be very odd given that only 2 other claimants are out there so odds are good that (if it ain't you) the Seer did the smart thing and never claimed at all - or you are scum and will be left alive.  If you're still breathing Day 3, we can consider that option, but my best evaluation is you won't be.

Town leader basically means he's taking the lead and directing the game, not that he's actually town. I'm calling it to attention because if he's leading the town as scum we're going down hard, but if he is town then we're doing well. It isn't something that can be ignored.

Can't remember anything else off the top of my head that I wanted to respond to that is still relevant - yesterday at work I was wanting to quote Wombat's previous reads list and ask why I was as high up as I was, but then I saw the Rags had already done it, and I wanted to see if there was anything further before I responded myself (which there was by the time I got there).

 

Have about 10 minutes before I need to run get ready for work, this afternoon is my inaugural training session and I need to do some prep work before my shift starts.

 

Reads list with a few random notes:

 

Fairly comfortable town reads:

 

DesLami - Firmly telling myself not to tinfoil right now.  Des is reading like Town!Des to me, and the tunnel on DPR is reminiscent of many other Town!Des tunnels. And since most of his points make a lot of sense (I did catch the sarcasm in DPR's "really really town" post, FWIW), I'm giving this one credit.  I disagree with some of the other reads, but overall I think we're seeing things pretty similarly.

 

Kivam - I'll admit I haven't read the catchup posts carefully or gone back to check context as recommended, but since the conclusions he's reached have made sense to me and many of them resonated with what I've been thinking, I'm putting him in my town pile for the moment.

 

Wombat - More gut feeling than anything.  May be subject to tinfoil later.

 

Nyn - I don't remember what the discussion was that gave me this impression, but it gave me a pretty strong "yeah, this looks like town!Nyn" vibe that's stuck with me.

 

 

Townish vibe:

 

Yates - I will always tinfoil on Yates, but unless we have a Yates/Des scum team I think I'm more comfortable calling him town. 

 

Rags - Gave him town points for mindmeld when he asked Wombat about why he was so high in the greens on his reads list yesterday.

This has been pivotal for me for ages now, for obvious reasons, and I still can't figure it out. 

 

Theoretically, if DPR AND KIV are Scum we need them voted out ASAP. But.....
