As I am waiting to see the "secret" forums, I thought I might introduce myself a little here first.

 

I am Ahmyra (Ah-meer-ah) or Myra if you are so inclined.  I am from the Great White North aka Canada.  I am currently reading Knife of Dreams in my first read through of the series... 

I think that Matt is my favorite character followed closely by Lan and Tuon currently. 

 

Not sure what else you all might want to know so feel free to ask me any questions you might have.

Canada eh? You're in my backyard! lol Sunny Buffalo, NY here. You completely new to the site as well as the series or have you kinda floated about, lookin in on things? Glad you stopped in the White Tower. Mat is pretty awesome. My favorite has to go to Bayle and Egeanin. and Hurin!! There was not enough of the sniffer in the series IMO. Thom too, awesome.

I pretty much exclusively read Fantasy. Have read a lot of Jeannine Frost, Jacqueline Carey, Tamora Pierce, Kim Harrison, Terry Spear, Kelley Armstrong to name just a few....

I am working full time and taking distance ed classes. I also cater to 3 horses, a dog and a cat. I am a youth leader for my church and a few other things besides....

I'm just reading Jacqueline Carey now! Finished with the third one yesterday, and got the next books all lined up and ready. She's very different from anything other I've read, and it took a while getting used to, but now I'm in love.

Yeah her style is a tad different but once you get used to it she is pretty wonderful! I read the first 2 trilogies and haven't gotten the third one yet :(

Welcome, Ahmyra!  We met on the Intro board. I'm glad you made it over here to the WT. 

 

I'm Daruya and my job here is to keep Elgee in line Keeper of the Chronicles. I was raised from the Blue Ajah, where I served as First Selector, and still serve in that role until it's announced and filled.

 

We've already talked horses a bit. 

 

It's awesome that you are youth leader at your church. I used to be on the worship arts team at my church (background vocalist; loved it and miss it terribly) but quit in 2010 when I was hospitalized for pneumonia. I was supposed to sing the weekend I was admitted to the hospital.  After being on a vent for over a week, it took a long time for my voice to get back to even close to normal and I still have issues hitting some notes.    I have 2 teenage boys but we haven't made it to their youth group for awhile now; it's on Wednesday evenings and by the time I get home from work at 5:30, there's no way we can get to the church by 6:00. 

 

In real life, I'm a mechanical engineer married to a retired Navy diver who is now a home health care Physical Therapist (Physiotherapist) Assistant and who specializes in lymphedema therapy.  Our oldest is a junior in high school, is in the band and is trumpet section leader.  Our youngest is in Civil Air Patrol and is the highest ranking cadet in his squadron (he's one of only 2 truly motivated individuals in his squadron). He's next eligible to advance in November (he's been advancing roughly every 57-60 days).

 

We have 3 dogs (all rescues), 2 horses, 10 chickes and 16 chicks (about 3-4 days old) that we just had shipped from a hatchery to replace the 8 adult chickens that were taken from the pen by a predator (had some repair work to do the pen as a result).  Our rooster was one of those 8 chickens.    The chicks are cute, though! 

 

As for seeing all the boards here in the WT, you should be getting that access soon.  It takes a few days for admin to get the requests processed.  Until then, just hang out with us here in the WT.  I promise we don't bite!  Well, some of us do but the Red Ajah's snugglebites are not in the least unpleasant!
