I've always been a proponent of do what you want and if people read it that's cool and if they don't oh well.

Like I don't read posts that nest responses inside quotes with colors anymore. They give me headaches and I just wont do it.

I don't care if people make them but they better not expect me to read it if they format it like that.

I don't either

Scandinavians refer to bell peppers as paprika, so it is the same thing as anyone in north america getting green pepper on their pizza.

Still considering how I feel about Verbal's thoughts.

Part 1.

LN parked a vote on Krak early, and never moved it until right before deadline.

Tina, you said Cory is the scummiest so far, but what do you think of Nolder's post/vote?

But even though they have their vote parked, they still push attention onto others, like L trying to direction attention to Nolder here, another person they were pushing hard.

Ok.

IMHO I think Krak did actually nail Verb out the gate.
I feel bad gunning for him in the first game he's played in months but that's how it goes I guess.

No reads on anyone else as of yet.

[v]Verbal[/v]

This was the only post by Nolder that I found. I don´t understand it because I don´t know how Krak nailed Verbal. But I´m keeping my eyes on Verbal. Always.

The only questionable post I saw by Tina, so it confirms my solid town read on her.

Ok so of the votes we have:

Krak - Voted as a joke vote by Verb, then by Leelou, I guess also as a joke vote?
Nolder - Voted by Krak and Yates for his verbal vote
Verbal - Voted by Nolder because ???
Cory - Voted by Tina for not answering Misheru's question (but not by Misheru who kept pushing him to answer)
Leelou - Voted by cory because... he's waxing poetic? I dunno.

Of above, I think Leelou's fast bandwagon onto Krak could be an early attempt to try and get a train going before there is any real information available, since at that point basically all posts were spam posts.

[v]Leelou/Nyn[/v]

Why I think Barm is solid town; his first vote and earliest attention is on LN. And his post is solid.

I also liked Barm's post 142. Seemed kind of game solvey.

I do NOT like removing Krak or Cory from the potential scum pool, yet.

Krak has a solid scum game so it's way too early to have him above a null -> Town track. The two things to his benefit are 1. the only game I recall him being this active in early on he was Town and 2. I liked his response to my inquiry and follow through questioning of Leelou in post 143.

Cory you fooled me once as scum. I don't like being fooled. I also don't like the "omg I'm lock clear Town guys" shtick starting with his first post. Meh - looking back to support this argument this was the only post that bothered me, really. Though I suppose the early attempted claim on the "Town Leader" mantle might also have me suspicious. IIRC, you were all "LOCK CLEAR" with Tommy in that game - until the game ended and you were scum.

Actually, now that I look at it, why are Tina and Wolfish off the table, iyo?

Tina's vote in post 106 came across as forced to me. And her questions are framed in such a way as to cast dispersion without actually coming out and saying "this is scummy because of x."

And Wolfish has 4 posts - 0 of which give me a strong Town vibe. And I just now realized he's the other half of Mish. Mish looks - okay, omgus vote aside.

This is one of the posts from Yates that makes me wary of him; because he competly not mentions LN. Like I said earlier they had no interaction at all early on, and felt like they were dancing around each other.

I have time for one quick post just to respond to 2 things. Reads and such coming after I finish a big chunk of work. Like Nyn mentioned, it's Sukot. I work for a Jewish Federation, so I'm off the next two days. But that means my day today is the suck with meetings and a huge proposal I have to get out by 3.

Ok so of the votes we have:

Krak - Voted as a joke vote by Verb, then by Leelou, I guess also as a joke vote?
Nolder - Voted by Krak and Yates for his verbal vote
Verbal - Voted by Nolder because ???

[v]Leelou/Nyn[/v]

It was yes. I'll get more in depth with my reads later, but I'm not liking the way Krak is coming off right now.

Evenin'

So...? I showed you mine... What do YOU think of that post?

I don't like the angle they're taking, defending Verb and prodding people about Nolder, but sitting with a vote on Verb.

Leelou, do you actually find Nolder's play to be wolfy?

Yes. His post and vote made no sense, even his explanation is pretty weak.

Just included to show how much heat was between LN and Krak/Nolder, wich makes it highly doubtful they are teammates.

Also gotta keep a closer eye on LouNy, since I can hardly remember the content fromt heir posts, and checking the posts counts, they have the most posts of the gsme together.

The bolded is surprising. I also don't remember much outside of some business with Nolder and Krak early on. Do you have a good feel for either of their scum games? I don't have a ton of meta experience on either. The only time I saw anti Town Nyn was as 3rd party in the Wizard game. I replaced in on N2, iirc, as a LD. I made a bunch of noise during the night and got recruited by Nyn the night I replaced in. I could look back at that. Time to ISO.

First mention Yates ever does about LN. However, I do think he'd ignored my post if they were teammates.

My only blue at this point is Mish.

This is why Verb was solid town from quite the beginning for me. Both me and Kronos are pretty easy targets on D1; we get easily flustered and cornered. Him putting me in blue this early (aka making effeciantly crossing me off his list off people he can go after D1) is a townie move from him.

I´m impressed that people can go through old games for meta reads. I had to re-read this game just to remember what happened yesterday. lol

[unvote]

I like Dice and Mish/Kronos. Cory is starting to get more townie.

I liked Barm´s post #142. Would like to see more from him.

I haven´t seen much from Nyn/Leelou so far. As Mish said, it´s weird since they have a lot of posts.

It´s a strange Krak - Nolder - Verb triangle. Nolder didn´t like Verbs answer on Krak´s joke vote and then Verb joke voted Krak but kept his vote since he didn´t like how Krak followed up. I have two posts by Nolder that I will try to find because they looked weird.

Verbal - what do you think about Nyn/Leelou?

Strong post from Tina, and also makes her have elsser chance of being teammates with LN, with her putting attention on them.

I used breakfast time to scan through the first few pages, up through page 7 I noted a couple of things.

You know what Dice?
You do you.

i do do i ??

ya know what? I do.

tosses the dice

eight

I think this is typical TownDice.  I know of course that the PR for something like that wasn't likely to be harmful to game, but I just don't think that ScumDice would do that.

How come... cory is posting in the signups thread, and not here, hmmm?

Townlean on Mish for that, while it may not be indicative of Cory's alignment, because my Cory could never be scum, but it shows she's paying attention

@Nol - here is the sequence you are referring to:

Sup. But now bed. Bye.

Tease.

Worth*

Fail of the game: Accomplished.

hahahaha

^

Scum Verb makes his appearance.

Just so you know - the above is what you're looking to hang your hat on.  Good luck with that.

This makes me feel good about Verb and Wolf being town, and gives me scumm vibes about Nol and Krak.

And it's Wednesday?

Vote: Nolder

Hallia enters the game, and completly ignores LN, does some buddying and puts on a safe vote.

Our reads so far (in no particular order).

Town Leans:
Tina
Verbal
Wolfish
Cory

Null:
Dice
Yates
Barm

Scum leans:
Hallia
Krak
Nolder

I don't think they'd put their teammate in the scum section, and anyway I know I'm town, Cory is dead town, and Tina and Verb is highly unlikely is town. Dice is clear town, so is Barm for me. They put Hallia, Krak and Nolder as scum leans. Krak and Nolder cannot be teammates with LN. So that leaves Hallia.

This reads list isn't sitting well with me.  I don't think there's any evidence to back up her town reads and it looks cobbled together.

@Leelou - do you agree with Nyn's reads?  Which would you change?

Well, gee, I wonder why it's not sitting well with you. So far you really have only pushed on Verbal and seemed to think Nolder is the only person that sees what you are saying. Sorry, but Nolder's post and vote might as well have been in another language. What you pointed out as scummy behavior from Verb, isn't. So far, he's shown more of a town attitude towards this game. I will be very shocked if he's scum.

Mostly included to show that the pokes at Krak continued the whole day.

LouNy

And Krak responds with a vote, starting the real train on LN.

I don't think you're town this game.

Instead of engaging you're simply content to snipe from the sidelines.

First off, Nolder is the only person that sees what I was saying and I understood what he was saying.  That doesn't make us right or wrong, but it does make sense.

Second, what Verb said wasn't scummy to you but that doesn't make it gospel.

Third, and mostly why I don't believe you, is because you had your mind made up before anything of note had happened.

Good, good post.

and yet that vote is still there Leelou. That seems to imply a serious vote.

and yet that vote is still there Leelou. That seems to imply a serious vote.

That's because my joke vote has turned serious. I told Barm that yesterday. Don't know why that is so hard to understand. Only other person I'd hands down vote right now is Nolder. And tbh, it really wouldn't matter who he was voting. He could have voted anyone after anyone in his first post if he posted like the way he did, I'd still be suspecting him like I am now. The only thing that I'm not liking about Hallia was how she threw in that she was voting Nolder for the Wednesday thing. Made it look a bit more opportunistic.

If Krak is their teammate, I'm officially retiring from mafia for good, because then I've lost all intincts. They cannot be teammates. Same with Nolder. The sentence on Hallia however, seems like she's just saying something to say something.

I'm not sure you guys are understanding where my concern is.
Take my Yates example. One of you thinks he's town, the other thinks he's scum.
How do you reconcile that? You just deferred to whoever you think can read him better?

Neither of us thought he's scummy. We have him as a high null.

That avoids his question though. Yates was his example, was there a player whose name actually fits his Yates example? Then answer his question with that player in mind.

Barm = town.

What exactly is the case on LouNy? I have a vague uneasy feeling on them, but I can't see anything to back it up, so I don't get why they're getting voted.

I don't see it either Mish.

For the record - I've played with town Mish and I've played with scum Mish. This in pretty positive is town Mish. I miss playing with you <3

I ask what's the case. An Hallia immediatly comes in like "i dunno?!!". And then she buddies me.

Looking at that I can see either no one agrees with me or they have other priorities so I'm gonna switch and put the pressure on.

[v]Leelou/Nyn[/v]

Balls in your court Verbal.

Nolder keeps the LN train building, instead of pushing in another direction, wich I'd expect at this point if they were teammates since it's DL day. Instead he keeps the momentum on the train going.

My leans, before Lee and I did the combined list.

Town Leans
Tina - Proactive, analytical, motivated. Most of her posts make sense to me. I'm not seeing the scummy laid back passive Tina here. So I'm getting a generally good feeling from her.
Wolfish - I like Kronos' posts and I think the way he carries himself says it all. He doesn't have much of a wolf range. Mish is being fierce and standing her ground. Both of them are giving me a townie vibe.
Cory - I raised my eyebrow a bit at the quiet Cory when the game started, but after observing he slid right into what I consider his townie play. Not ready to lockclear him yet, but he can be green for now.

Null Leans
Dice - Kinda unsure. He's usually a very scummy townie or a very scummy scummy. Right now he's kinda null to me.
Yates - Kinda bothered me when he went a couple of times all 'I can't believe you're reading me as null' both at us and someone else. And there was the little tif between him and Cory which I'm attributing to lingering issues from a different game. I kinda got a v/v feel from the exchange. But I need to see more before I'm comfortable enough to bump him to my town leans.
Barm - Never played with him before. He seems semi involved with the game but he hasn't really said anything to note, for better or worse. Would like to see more.
Verbal - I just can't tell lol But he hasn't done anything pingy that I've seen so there's that.

Scum leans
Nolder - For reasons stated in quite a few of my previous posts. He's not making sense to me at all.
Krak - I don't think I've ever seen Krak play this way. While I appreciate him posting more, I'm not a fan of the nature of his posts. There's a lot of directing other people and asking questions, while not sharing his thoughts. And generally trying to push weak FoSes.
Hallia - Mostly gutread. I get that she has RL issues, but even when she caught up it felt kinda without. I'm also not a fan of her bringing up the Wednsday joke as she was casting a vote on Nol. Kinda wondering if she was bussing.

The reasons for Hallia seem way weak for her to be on the scum list. Her reasons on Yates seem stronger. Again this feels liek camouflaging a teammate.

And I like that catch Mish. Just further firming that scum vibe from Krak.

I point out that I find Krak's attempt to start a train at Yates disturbing. And Hallia comes supporting me. At this point, she's still voting Nolder, however she moves her vote to Krak not long after.

So, to sum this up nicely:

I cannot see Dice, Verb, Barm or Tina as mafia at all. Krak and Nolder is spewed clear by the effort LN put into trying to get them to look bad. Yates and Hallia are the wild cards, but LN joining the votes for Yates EOD and Hallia subtly nudging in that direction makes Hallia the clearer candidate.

Posted

I agree with pretty much all of that.

Wondering if Kronos does as well? Honestly I can't remember him giving much input this game tbh.

Not that it really matters since you're the "same person" but just wondering what he thinks about all this.

Posted

He hasn't seen that post yet, but he hasn't voiced any disagreements so far. He's been very busy with work and has some new meds that make him loopy so he's leaving most of the talking to me so far.

Last time I saw Verb as scum he pulled the whole "lynch me tomorrow" angle and led a successful lynch on me the next day, completely ignoring his claim to self-vote and won the game for scum. It would be easy enough to do it this time with little suspicion since there was a decent amount of pressure on me yesterday.

I am not locked in on this, so feel free to dispute me and call me stupid.

Posted

I appreciate the effort, Mish. Proded me to ISO myself to see what you were seeing.

You seem to think my first reaction to LouNy was in response to your post. Actually, my first comment on LouNy was on page 7 in response to a question Krak asked. We had a whole exchange about it. You even quoted part of it in the "I showed you mine" quote.

Prior to that point; this is the complete list of people I mentioned or engaged: Cory, Dice, Verb, Nolder /list. The only person I really engaged was Verb. It is not a coincidence that I mentioned people I have a bit of meta knowledge of. I try to keep my focus narrow in my early game and get a read on one or two people that I think can help me win the game.

I think your larger point is that you are concerned that I mostly ignored that slot? You aren't wrong. I don't know how to read either of them and admitted as much. So I stayed out of their arguments with Krak and Cory to let them handle it. I also have a lot of trouble reading Hally. You will notice I didn't interact with her either. I don't really know you so I didn't interact with you. I certainly don't know WBK [despite being in a game together] so I didn't interact with him. Do you see the trend, here? Point being, it isn't scum behavior. It's just symptomatic of my focused early game. Look at any of my past games [i think I've only been scum once in the last year] and you will see this is just how I play.

I think the biggest point I wanted to address was how you felt I left out LouNy in my post you quoted that I think you were thinking was my reads list? It was actually a response to Cory's wolves list. Really, I was just responding with my disagreements. It isn't clear in ISO but in context the fact that I left LouNy out of that post actually means I didn't have a problem with her being in his suspect pool. I never mentioned Verb or Nolder or Hally either. Then I brought in people he left off the list that I felt like I needed a better read on.

Here, look at these posts one after the other and I think you'll see what I mean:

Wolves in:

3. Barm

4. Leelou/Nyn

5. Verb

7. Yates

9. Nolder

11. Hallia

imo

Find a villager in there and you'll be set

Barm had a post that I kind of liked IIRC

Where he did some early train analysis

Surely something possible to do as a wolf but it prompted a vote I approved it and I could follow

Anyway, I wanted to clear that up while it's still a misunderstanding as opposed to a misrep. I'm pretty beat after watching the ALCS game go into extra innings [plus it's 1:30 AM!] so I'm going to bed. I'll do more external review tomorrow.

Also, just a heads up, I'll be gone all of Sunday. Going to drive 4 hours to tailgate before watching the Broncos destroy the Jets in Metlife Stadium for my buddy's birthday [yes, he's a Jets fan and I'm still friends with him]. I guess there's a chance I'll get on Sunday night but don't hold me to it.

Somebody needs to move a vote.

What did you mean with this, Verbal?

I liked Mish´s post very much.

I´m going to be very vary of people that challenges the people that most have as town. Mafia needs to break into that group sooner or later to get the lynched.

I´m with my bf until tomorrow and the internet connection comes and goes. I know tha Nolder asked me a question that I tried to answer yesterday but now I can´t find it.

Also Yates, you spending a whole long posts defending yourself from me when I made it pretty clear you're my secondary suspect, doesn't make me happy.

Nobody gonna comment on the parts on Hallia? Really?

Speaking off, what happened to the post she promised us yesterday?

I said that I liked it. Right now I´m focusing on Yates though.

I get it. But I've recently discovered I'm an egocentric mafia player. I read people better based on how they interact with me. It's something that was pointed out to me at the end of one of my last games.

Pretend I'm talking about somebody else. Does the new information provided affect your read?

Yates...who do you think is scum?

Like I said earlier, I'm inclined to look at the people off the wagon. I'm removing Dice from that list, obviously. I'm also adding Verbal to the list since his vote technically didn't mean anything. I haven't actually gotten to dig in yet but my focus is on you, Hally, Nolder, and Verb.

Part of the reason I responded to Mish's summary is because I wanted to see her response to my defense. Have you read her summary and my clarification post? What do you think of that?

Posted

Yates, you're not my priority today. I said why I think you might be mafia, and why I think not. Hallia is my nr 1 suspect. I'll get back to that tomorrow if by some bizarre event Hallia isn't mafia.

Fair enough. I just wanted you to acknowledge that you were legitimately misreading/missing something pretty important to how you claim to be perceiving my slot.
