Yates when did I fool you?

I was only in the one game with the two of you. Don't remember which one it was.

The Red Wedding?

I was town cop.

If you want to have a constructive discussion, can you point to a game in particular where Krak was scum and was solid?

Not insulting Krak's scum game, just can't remember any games he was really active as scum for in my time here and you got here after I did.

Was it TOMMY that was scum? I've had it backwards in my head this whole time. lol

To your point, though, my vig gambit was pretty good in that game. AND I made myself obv Town prior to that. So, contrary to what I think are your beliefs, I can actually do both.

I'd have to dig. I'm usually in a couple of games at a time and never really remember. No idea how you guys remember games from the summer never mind last year.

Also, I said he was active as TOWN. May have been Avengers? Either that or Woodstock. Krak would remember which game he was scum and when he put in effort.

Yes, it was Tommy was scum in that game. You are like the eightieth person to attribute a Tommy game to me despite that fact that I am the villager version of Tommy and Tommy is the wolf version of me.

You were one of the most obvious villagers in the Doctor Who game, but you decided you were defacto leader because Meri didn't have enough experience to outvocalize you and you berated her consistently for pushing Key (who was Mafia) while you pushed Hallia (who I read ~pretty well and I was pretty convinced she was a villager)

Which was sort of frustrating for me considering I couldn't technically get involved

But yes, you are typically quite good at presenting yourself as a villager - never really seen your scum game so don't know if it works both ways - and yes, I complimented you several times on drawing the kill in that game. If you want direct honesty I don't think you toneread particularly well and you get caught up in non-alignment related logical loops too often when neither of those are reliable for hunting scum on a individual level.

I lol'd at the "contrary to what I think are your beliefs". Cute.  :myrddraal:

Yates, please don't take this the wrong way, because I actually am enjoying this chat:

It's not really confidence-building when you reference other-game meta for why you feel certain way about players and are unable to remember the games that gave you that impression, especially when you've used it once in a game and turned out to have misremembered.

I am not saying to abandoned meta; it's a super useful tool. I am not saying you need to remember past games; that's an unreal expectations. But generally if you get that strong urge that someone is acting in a way that reminds you of their scum meta, go back and make sure it really happened before pushing it as a reason to have a lean on a player ITT.

Yeah, Krak had a high volume in Woodstock.

Unfortunately for your meta argument he was also town.

You are Pandit Ravi Shankar

You are an Indian sitar player. You are not a rock performer but in the wake of spiritualism and the search for new influences your music became very popular. It starts raining but you are prepared to play through the rain

Role: You are vanilla town

I co-modded that game

Fair point with the tone read. I actually *have* said as much [i think after that first sweep]. But I've been working on it. I'll be able to expand on that in another day or so.

So since you brought up tone reading, how are you tone reading Tina as Town? I'm not seeing it. At all.

What?

Krak has a solid scum game so it's way too early to have him above a null -> Town track. The two things to his benefit are 1. the only game I recall him being this active in early on he was Town and 2. I liked his response to my inquiry and follow through questioning of Leelou in post 143.

As far as meta goes? I typically remember players and plays and conversations. I just don't remember the games. IRL I can remember faces like a boss and entire conversations but don't ask me the name of someone I just met like an hour later...

Honestly I just doubt she pokes @ me like that as a wolf. Her meta on me is slightly outdated, but when I decided to have a quiet opening and let people get the chats out first when of the first things I thought to myself is that "Tina will probably her do her mental loop of 'Cory believes villagers should be obvious and he's not being obvious so he's not a villager' if she's town" as she's done it with me before as a villager.

I don't think she's the kind of player that would make an exaggerated point to abuse her meta that way, and she followed up in general but continued to contribute despite having her vote set.

She can be sort of hard to read, but I've played with her many times and I think I'm typically pretty decent at reading her.

Misread IRT why you were pointing out Woodstock

My original question of "Why did you decide to say 'Krak has a solid scum game'" is still in the air however unless you were just tinfoiling for the fun of playing with tinfoil

Yeah. So your whole read is basically meta based on how the two of you have interacted in the past and not tone, then. Ie - a "soul read." You can't expect anyone else to read those posts and come to the same conclusion. I read it as a forced vote [not knowing this history] and saw her "questions" more as "needles." Take a look in ISO and I think you'll see what I mean. Likewise, I'll take your "soul read" under advisement.

You say "tinfoil," I say "respect." But yeah. That. Krak can tell you the last time he was scum and jog my memory. But when he does you'll be able to look at the game and see that while he wasn't obv Town by any means he had like zero suspicion. Like I said, I may not remember the game but I remember the situation/circumstances. And that's what's important.

it's hard to accurately describe the expression of an item of luggage, even if this one can move itself about, especially absent it's lolling tongue. However this Luggage seems to be staring pensively out to sea, watching the ships come sailing in.

Two things.

1. I don't really like Cory setting up as town leader but it's usually inevitable that someone does. I feel like there's always one person being sensible while everyone else derps around so they're forced to try to lead the herd whether they want to or not. I'm going to cautiously accept it for now.

2. Hallia you're losing it. Need a post ASAP and not just a short oh sorry vote blahblah because I agree with blah. Give thoughtful detailed post that shows you're following along and have a real assessment of the game please.

I'm reading Verb as town at the moment, same with Yates and Cory. Still not liking Krak. Tina I went back and looked after the discussion on this page, might be something there, but not enough that I'm confident going after it at this point. Also gotta keep a closer eye on LouNy, since I can hardly remember the content fromt heir posts, and checking the posts counts, they have the most posts of the gsme together.

I pretty much agree with this, with the exception that I don't feel one way or the other about Cory setting himself up as the leader. He's done the same in previous games. At least in his town games. I don't think I've ever seen him play as scum. Got any links to some of your scum games, Cory?

Also as a general FYI. It's Sukot right now (Jewish holiday) and my family is coming to visit till Saturday, so my activity might be reduced a bit for a couple of days.
