I don't need to look at the wiki because I know how the role works and I know what you claim the mod told you. Based on how the role works AND what YOU claim the mod told you, you are still wrong about your claimed power. Plus, as others have pointed out, it just doesn't make sense in a game with this flavor. That's why you just scum claimed.

Addendum to the above - a gunsmith would also provide for a false-negative. That's how that role is balanced. So if Des were Ultron, for example, of course he would have no gun and return a result of "no gun." That wouldn't make him clear, it would just mean he doesn't have a gun.

 

Bottom line; this is a really bad fake claim - essentially a scum claim, tbh.

Notably, Serial Killers and Doctors do not have guns.

Using these guidelines, Gunsmiths are considered Normal on mafiascum.net.

Gunsmiths are usually, but not necessarily, pro-Town. They are considered somewhat weaker than standard Cops and are usually included in setups where they can get positive results on players who are not Mafia-aligned.

And while this is still conjecture, if I was on a scumteam with someone who needed to survive until D4 or thereabouts, I would just stay low and scummy but not quite scummy enough to get lynched. Like a Vos, or an AJ, or a Krak. That type of behavior.

Let me make an analogy that should demonstrate why I'm so crystal clear on the subject:

 

I'm saying that an M-16 fires 5.56 mm ammunition.  

You are saying that you found a line in a wiki article that states that you don't HAVE to fire 5.56 mm ammunition if your M-16 is equipped with an M203 grenade launcher.

But you are saying this after stating that you don't have an M203 grenade launcher.

 

Look at your wiki article then look at what your role PM says.  Your wiki article gives you general information about how the role COULD BE set up.  Your role PM states how your role IS set up.  You claim your role PM states "You will receive a report whether that player has a gun in flavor."  That means that a player's flavor text would need to indicate that they have a gun.  That is very different from stating that any non-hero would be treated as though they have a gun because that is not at all what your role pm says thus your argument is not valid.  You have no grenade launcher so your M16 fires 5.56 mm rounds.  Case closed.
