This is the only one I've been able to find so far on this board and it was from a game several pages back so maybe a bit outdated. TG was town here though and I actually was mafia which makes it funny. It's not recent evidence so perhaps a bit ~null but it still proves that even TG has 'justified' his joke votes.

 

Will continue looking through some games on the others boards as well but for now I think I would very much enjoy seeing TG take the drop this game. I'm just really not buying that he sees any real value in over analyzing RVS votes and I dislike how he focused on semantics and immediately turned aggro towards me when responded to about it. Like I'm still baffled he handled my singular statement in the way he did.

 

AJ, you get some townie points for doing stuff like this.  But don't act like you can't figure out what was behind my early "case" on Lenlo followed by my quick flip for the first person to jump.  If I was on somebody else doing it you'd get it, I think you're being blinded by the fact that it's you.  Or your scum and doing it purposely.  Jury's still out.

Nobody think you're a piece of human garbage.  The issue is this, when you self-vote like you did it's basically a pity-play that appeals to our emotions.  In mafia it is very difficult to discern real emotion from fake, but scum tend to be more sensitive to getting lynched and respond emotionally whereas town tend to want to fight it harder for the good of the team.

AtE = appeal to emotion. It's when people go all emo to try to garner sympathy. "You all hate me!! -> self vote" is a classic.

@Aj - it looks town to me because I can't see scum bringing it up out of the gate and sticking to it like a dog to a bone. I feel like Scum!TG would acquiesce instead of being so stubborn on you for it.

 

That being said, I know TG has been active elsewhere today after being absent from this thread for awhile and that makes me slightly suspicious. Especially since he was engaging you so hard.

 

I don't really agree here. For instance - look how he continued to tunnel Despot in the Woodstock game after he had more or less become a consesus clear for most of the village. This allows him to look busy (he's more than capable of appearing active as Mafia, which I think that game proves as well) and it keeps him from really having to take stances on other issues as they develop.

 

Bottom line is I really don't understand how he came to the conclusion he did on me after my single post where I said literally "I don't see any justification there" irt to Len's vote on Arsis to start the game. His play since was also bad imo where he wasn't really applying 'justification' in context and instead pushed the angle that since Len made any kind of commentary on the vote that it suggested something bad. It doesn't.

 

Normally people who push null indicators as something scummy are scum.

I had this same reaction to Len when I read that particular post, but I'm not sure I want to invest a ton of value in it. RVS is typically a term that is used on other sites (like Mafia Scum). I think on DM it's generally just referred to as joke voting.

That may have been a little overboard, sure. I think he's taking the self-deprecation to an extent that isn't necessary though. I've already stated my thoughts here. Either way, Arsis is playing terribly for either alignment but I'm afraid he'll actually flip town and will be a hard wagon to analyze because of his play. Makes him an easy target - and with this set-up we can really only afford 2 mislynches before hitting Lylo on D3.

I've posted multiple times that my early case was a reach.  I even responded directly to Lenlo to say it was.  And I took your reaction and ran with the vote to pressure you.  IMO you didn't hold up well be conflating skimming with over justifying, which I viewed as a bit fence-sitty.  Moreover, it bothered me that you waited on Yates to take action before jumping since Yates vote was clearly a trap vote.
