The Hobbit: Battle of the five armies

So the first teaser trailer for the last Hobbit film has come... And I had to watch it twice, cause the first time I was so mezmerised by the song; I love it so, so much (one of my favourite part of all the LOTR-movies, and it fit this trailer very well).

I haven't been thinking too much about the last movie, but now I'm excited again

This is pretty much how I feel about these movies

and he does one for the original Hobbit movie....also I think PJ is not even trying anymore. The movies are so messed up at least with LOTR he attempted to stay true to the books now he just basically wrote a fanfiction and filmed it. Thanks PJ for just wanting to show off your money fort. *eye roll* With the new one I still feel like he's not trying he needs to recycle Pippins song from LOTR? How does that have anything to do with what's going on now? *confused* Random she elf lives through battle of five armies which makes no sense..

Im really iffy on it to be frank. On one hand I love the Hobbit, its one of my favorite books ever and I think that the movie's themselves are great on their own. Separate I love them, probably more than the original trilogy movies, but whenever I compare/think about them alongside the book I get really really annoyed because of how many liberties Jackson took with the story. And theres alot.

So yeah. Excited for the movie, just gonna have to go in and forget the book existed for 3 hours though.

You have a point hte movies have a great cast and the music should pretty much always get awards the story telling is what leave things to be desired. I find it amusing Bilbo and Smaug are Sherlock and Watson. Plus Stephen Fry is in the movies and who doesn't love stephen fry? *laughs* So on the one hand yeah awesome and on the other...

Edit: I was thinking of this just now and I have to say im happy the elf king gets to show off at the battle. I've always liked him and its nice to see that he gets to show off some just like Legolas does/did. So that will make me happy. :)

frames a prayer

O Creator   and peter jackson

PLEASE kill Legolas!!!

end prayer

i definitely have isssues with the movies changing stuff from the book.  Dont get me started on Legolas or the elf/dwarf love angle!  But there are some parts I really like and that are really accurate. Like when the Dwarves do the dishes at Bilbos  and him talking to Smaug..

My dads bday is christmas day and i always take him to see the Tolkien movies when they come out on boxing day.  After this its the end of a special thing.  cries    NOW what do i get him for his birthday!!!

Why?? Legolas was so awesome in LOTR

Yeah don't like the liberties like everyone else had said, but I loved the conversation with Smaug and with Gollum.  Also, even though the barrel scene was like a video game  it still was pretty cool.

*laughs* Dice you and I...I knew we'd get on. I agree with all.

I don't mind Orlando as Legolas I don't care for him in other instances but as Legolas he's okay. Although honestly I liked him better in LOTR then in the Hobbit movies. Random insertion of elf/dwarf story made me eye roll hard core.

I loved the new movies, I thought the soundtracks and the filming was lovely.  I LOOVEEE Richard Armitage, and the casting was pretty spot on.

So long as you don't try to compare it to the book, it's most excellent!

1  he shouldnt be in the hobbit unless he stands next to daddys throne   and

2 i cant stand Orlando Bloom!

Also, how can you not stand Orlando Bloom.  He just punched Justin Bieber in the face.

I remember the cartoon it was weird but fun...but weird. *laughs* I"m not sure if the weirdness over did the fun or not. The verdict is still out. I might need to rewatch it..

Actually, he took a swing at Bieber.. He Missed...

And apparently that all came about because Bieber had his way with Bloom's X-wife... (no I don't read tabloids, it was just on my news feed... I was disapointed bloom missed...)

I saw the trailer as well.......and watched it Seven times!! So excited for this film. I have not read the book, but I like the inclusions, especially the Sauron arc, and that duel in Dol Guldur in the previous was amazing and scary all at once!! Sauron's arc at least is worth the watch considering the characters presentation in the last trilogy. Which was bang on, but left more opportunity, which was accomplished with AMoL.

You know, for all that people complain about Peter Jackson's long-windedness in these films, this one honestly could have stood to breathe a little more. It just kind of felt like a sequence of scenes and setpieces wherein he lost interest in each one halfway through and started champing at the bit to get to the next one, sometimes forgetting to give any kind of proper resolution to the bits he was in the middle of. Like, oh, the titular Battle, which just kind of gets forgotten when Thorin decides to go fight Azog. I think there's maybe one moment after that where he checks in on it after remembering he had yet to tick the box next to "eagles".

Also why was Billy Connolly's entire face rendered in cgi?
