Not solid points, solid post.  Key got in the game right away and started analysis.  Generically, mafia does joke around a little with the rest of town, and then hops onto something.  I don't know Key's meta, but off of what she did right there, looks good so far.

Rand, that is a pretty convenient "free pass" - especially as mafia - to take out someone you know is town.  If you are town and are playing to win, revenge votes from a previous game are not a good idea, IMO.  I find this pretty suspicious.  Scummy, even!

BTW, do y'all realize how intimidating it is to come on here and see that many of you have obviously played MANY mafia games together?  I feel like I'm at a tennis match, watching the ball bounce back and forth on the court . . .

 

And I'm totally bummed that my work computer/server won't let me post a bouncing tennis ball here for effect . . .

In my walk, I know one thing.  You can always trust an Aes Sedai to tell the truth in word....but never trust their meaning.  I hardly believe women of the tower would feel any less intimidated handling us ruffians as she would her own pillow partner.   I have many first hand accounts of an Aes Sedai using her skill of tongue to get her way, and not in the way I would have preferred.   

 

Still comfortable with my vote on Mish, but as more players chime in, I may have to change my course.

I warned in signups I'd be shorter on time than usual. My family is here visiting, I only see them once a year. So I've spent the whole day with them, and I don't spend time on my phone when I can play with my brothers and spend quality time with my dad and stepmom and grandparents. It'll be like this until Sunday, then I'm back to normal until tuesday, and Wednesday I'm going away, so then I'll be limited again.

 

So... Very weak attempt to bring negative attention to me noted.

And to your larger post, the RVS doesn't have a specific time and then it suddenly just stops.  It generally goes unitl something serious shows up, and then we start focusing on that, game play starts, etc, etc.

I dunno what to think re Rand.  on one hand i agree with mish that the purpose of N0 was to get the spam gone. that then means D1 is real. But i can see people sticking to its D1 lets joke vote!.  I do think Rands reason for the vote is weak but is it too weak?

 

 

 

@ tsuki   how does N0 affect your no vote in first 24hrs/phase policy?  i mean if the phase finishes in under 24 hrs when the next starts are you then willing to vote?

Cuz you were skeptical about my vote, so I explained it lol.  And whats plural?  The game should advance at its own pace, and its doing so right now.  The more we try to speed it up, the more that we usually grab onto a "scumtell" that's generally pretty small, the more likely town v town violence shows up, and we end up lynching a town.  Thats how most games start and they're still winnable, I would just prefer a calmer start, with gentle FoSes for small scum plays, wait for reactions/slight slips/impatience, and then get the game started on a better note.

Why so eager to get lynching?  You can have all the N0's you want, but the first moves on a chessboard are always about feeling the other players out.  While I disagree with Rand that there are no joke votes, Mish is trying to make it seem like Rand is hesitant about getting serious.....why the focus on just him though?  Is he the only one acting in this way?  Not at all.

Did she just contradict herself or what?  To Rand, she wags her finger for joke-voting when he shouldn't but yet somehow my vote on her is not taken seriously?  Are we joke voting or not joke voting now?  Which is it, Mish?  You can't have it both ways.....well, in mafia at least. 

 

Also, my whole post was a fingerwag at Daruya, not Mish.  Why did Mish take it personal when it wasn't about her?

Mish tends to take it personally when people question her activity level. I find it hard to read her because she tends to overreact a lot, which makes it difficult to discern her alignment.

 

With that said, her reason to vote Rand seems a bit flimsy, but considering we're so early in the game, I'm noting it...... but not gonna run to conclusions quite yet.

I don't really need to reread her posts. She's made like 6-7 posts and I recall them. Plus you've quoted the most relevant ones anyhow. In any case, I was making a point about the overreaction you pointed out in the above post. It's not indicative of much, IMO. But infer from it what you will.

 

I think her FOS of Rand was weak. As for calling your vote a joke vote....  it was unclear if your vote was serious or not since you specified no reason. It was a one liner vote. You've justified your current suspicion NOW. But before that I could see how it could come across as not serious. If you're saying it was a legit vote, then what were you basing it on?
