Wish you guys had consolidated onto NB. Not sure what you see in him.

That's a terrible thing to say!

More friendly NB banter.

Vote Clov

Your lack of motivation in this game troubles me. I know you love being town, especially if you score a PR. I also know you hate rolling scum. Pouty Clov is a scummy Clov. *waggles finger*

This is probably bad. I found myself nodding along to his statements earlier in the game. Same on-point vibe as another recent town game of his.

Plus TG wants to lynch him.

I've seen Clov make excellent points as scum before.

Ah TG wants to lynch him! So under your criteria anyone that TG is after is town by default?

You've never even played with me as scum.

Tommy linked us to a game where you were scum when we lynched you. I have bothered to read your posts BEFORE voting to lynch you. :P

Nice try at discrediting, though.

She got extremely snippy with me when I said voting Clov was bad. If she and Clov were scum/scum she could have just agreed with what I said and slowly backed off him, but she doubled down.

For sure. He was effective like that in Twilight mafia. He was one of the more consensus clear players until must lynch. It's part of why I don't trust him in general. But we've had two really good collaborative town/town games where I felt good about him right away despite always tinfoiling a little bit on him. He had the same air to him early on. If his posting has dropped off hard I haven't noticed and that could be an actual scum tell for him. But he's a strong player and not someone I advocate lynching on D1. (Tried once; oops.)

And I get that you're mocking me but yes, TG pushing two of the strongest players in the game on D1 has me concerned. If he's scum it's a good tactic because he'll be able to "park" his vote on me for a while as it's really hard to get me lynched, so he avoids spewing other players for as long as I'm alive and he can keep harassing me... and if people get paranoid and I get lynched, even better! I call this the Tom Park on POG, wolves do it to me there quite a bit, especially in larger games.

I saw he was still arguing against me with hypocritical reasoning (calling MY argument a misstep is pure fabrication when HIS argument is the sort of spin I expect of someone like Red). Will respond in full when I can get to a comp.

I would love your thoughts on him and his "argument."

And that's an open invitation to everyone, few people have really pressed either of us yet. I was surprised to see NB didn't get into the thick of it at all.

Salami, THAT is a guy in commentary mode.

This post was good and is also a reminder that NB completely ignored the TG/Tom fight despite having a vested interest in it.

NB has just called me scum from D1 and never relaxed that read or tried to develop it.

Then I really don't understand why you're voting me. You said my lack of motivation worries you, which I can accept on the surface level - I'm not going to sit here and pretend I've been a major try hard, and I'm not going to make a bunch of excuses. Tom soft defends me for making posts he apparently agreed with (which is weird). You say you've seen me make good points as scum. If that's from whichever game Tom linked you to during RG - Twilight, I think? - you wouldn't have come to the conclusion that I hate rolling mafia OR that I'm pouty.

My point to Tom is that you can be extremely sensible regardless of alignment.

The conclusion of you not liking to roll scum didn't come from me reading that game. It came from when I modded my Buffy game and you practically begged me not to make you scum.

The pouty bit was in jest =)

Clov's response to Nyn is good. Possible NB is the last scum and that's the end of it.

there you go again...

I was hoping for more suspiciousness here, but no one else did anything.  Salami and Notbob's vote on Lenlo can be argued and dismissed as self-preservation, as NB even says as much.  I moved from TG to Lenlo because he was my #2 and I felt the most confident of the three mini-trains that he would flip scum.

I'm curious as to why your vote remained squarely on Clov since it was clear that train was not leaving the station.

Why was it clear? There was loads of time till the deadline when I placed my vote on Clov. And I wasn't around when the deadline hit.

Clov is currently at the top of my scum list. I would have settled for DT too but since everyone is being so accommodating to newbies lately, I decided it wasn't worth the argument. There are a couple of other people that were wary about Clov, like TG. Was hoping they'd switch to him. Since there was no train with an abundance of votes, I was hopeful.

This feels like scum talking to a townie.

@Nyn - If I read this correctly, your top three scum reads are Clov/DT/TG correct?  Which of those three would you lynch today based on your reads up to this point and why?

DT. Still highly suspicious of Clov but at least he decided to give a damn and actually post after I FOSed him.

You pointed out that DT is coming off newbie awkward like. I don't see it at all. It feels like he knows exactly what he's doing, while throwing in some newbie clueless comment here and there for pretense, like the most recent one of having no idea that we talk through nights.  He has contributed nothing to the game so far. Uber passive and content with sitting back and letting the rest do the work. I haven't seen him do even one proactive post since the game began. He can easily coast through the game in this manner, especially since being new to the site seemed to have earned him at least a D1 pass. Well, we're on D2 now so he better shape up or get gone.

This caught my eye from the night phase. Nyn speaks about me as though I'm town in this post, noting that I was wary of Clov. Only a townsperson is wary of other players. Nyn using phrasing like this when earlier she said something about putting flaming dog ish on my doorstep (assuming that meant she thought I was scummy) is very strange. FOS.

What's strange about it? Haven't been a fan of you thus far but I have other people at the top of my scum list. Town or scum, you are confined to the statements you make on thread. One of which was your suspicion of Clov. You could be bussing Clov. You could be legit scum reading him. Not sure which of them it is yet.

In any case, Mynd was trying to make a point on how starting a Clov train was a lost cause. I disagree because I don't think I was the only one who felt iffy about him.

This progression is interesting. Nyn is implying that her scum reads are consensus developed; Clov for a while, when that didn't take off, she switched to "suspecting" DT but left her vote on Clov; she defended that vote from Mynd and said "I wasn't the only one who was suspicious of Clov!" as if she's annoyed at catching heat for pushing him when other people were skeptical of him too.

Looks good for Clov. I think Clov is still capable of making that snippy post to Nyn about how she hasn't played with him as scum before if he's scum (he's good at busing), but I doubt Nyn is at the proper level of sociopath to put this level of nuance into it if they're scum together.

If you want to see his previous games, he's Jetscode1 on the JetNation mafia forum.

The only recent meta I have of him, in terms of what he's like as town and scum, isn't that useful cause he was SK in the game I played with him.  However, he does joke around like this, so the way he's playing isn't too out of the ordinary.

I don't get your Tommy vote though JC/NB, can you give me a solid reason?

Yes, he's scum.  Kinda like the opposite of a tumbleweed.

-.- Don't remind me.

@Rand - Regarding the not lynching a new player on D1, I stand by it (short of them posting their scum QT or something ridiculous).  New players should be given a fair chance to learn the culture and a D1 lynch on your first game isn't.  Drunk is fair game D2 as far as I'm concerned.  And given how out of sync he is with the thread, as BFG mentioned, he is on my scum list.

As far as I knew this was DM mafia common courtesy and has been an unwritten rule for a long time.

So far as I knew, it's new players, like...new to mafia in general.  Drunkie has said he's not new to forum mafia, and as that I feel should be fair game, as TG says (<3 Drunkie I love you already! )

Tommy and Vos are my two top town reads atm.

I always tend to start out thinking you're town.  Mainly because of the way you play, you engage and ask questions, and seem to legit scum hunt.  Even if you're not town, you generate enough conversation to glean good info from.

I'd say from a villa mindset, Tomzorz

Hallia buddies the hell out of me; Nyn goes on the defensive from me. Looks like neither knew how to handle me and did their best to stay out of the way. Lock clear, betches.

Official Vote Count-Day 3

Drunk Tank-(5/5)-Darthe, Rand, NotBob, Clov, Tommy

TG(1/5)-Mynd

Not voting-(2/7)-Drunk, TG

With 8 alive, takes 5 to lynch

And that's a lynch

Bit was giving out answers to truth seekers in his own weird binary way. But quickly he was surrounded by programs that said that he was lying. They claimed that he was propagating rumors and trying to cause fear.

They accused him of causing the deaths of many recently. Before he had a chance to say anything, the crowd destroyed him.

Drunk Tank, Bit, Vanilla Town was lynched

Darthe, I think doc should consider protecting myself or Rand, since it seems you likely viewed one of us two based on your comments.  IC works for any of the three of us, plus we have the doc still which puts us in a good position.

The Doc can make up his own mynd, thank you very much!

TG you were the one checked by Darthe iirc, I was just cleared because of the way I reacted to Darthe's gambit.  Which didn't work out. :(

Most likely, TG's gonna be targeted if doc stays on Darthe no matter what so lets evaluate the outcomes with pure probability.

If Doc stays on Darthe, he gets roleblocked, we lose a clear, but if we manage to lynch the correct RBer for mafia, then we have the cop for one more night minimum with one more reading.  With 6 people tomorrow, Darthe as the clear, and if he leads, then I guess he's not lynching me, giving 4 people.  We have a 25% chance of getting the mafia RBer, and a 50% chance of getting mafia, assuming standard 3:1 town to mafia ratio (which in a basic game I'll definitely take as almost definite).  If we get the RBer, we have a very strong chance of winning.  Even if we don't get the RBer, but we still get mafia, we're in an OK position with 4 people left, 1 of them a cop with no view, and hopefully I'm alive.  That way we can mainly focus on two people and have another 50/50 chance.

If Doc WIFOMs and mafia shoots between Darthe and TG and RBs Darthe, there's a 50% chance that no one will die.   We are then left with 7 people tomorrow, which gives us the option of a mislynch, which would be amazing.  Darthe again would have no reading, but between the 5 people that Darthe would lead on, we'd have a 40% chance of getting mafia, 20% of getting the RB, but at least we could be wrong once, and still live through the night, unlike the previous situation.  If the other 50% happens, then we'll have 6 people tomorrow and pretty much the same situation as above with 1 clear, me kinda clear, and 4 other people in different orders of scumminess depending on viewpoint.  The only thing is that there's a 25% chance that we would have lost the cop, so that IF we get the RB this day, we could get a viewing.

However, with the WIFOM scenario, there's a 50% chance of a much better day with the option of a mislynch, and only a 25% chance that it could be worse, if another 25% chance of lynching the RB occurred.  So I think its obvious by this that the doc should WIFOM.

And for those who say I'm leading the doc, I'm kinda doing the opposite, like what TG said.  I'm telling the doc, go have fun.  But go between TG and Darthe.  Even though I'm kinda clear, I'm not full clear, so people can raise doubts against me that they can't against TG or Darthe.  Mafia may go the easy route and not take the coin flip and decide to kill me instead, but doc DO NOT protect me, just in case they don't take the chance.  And this isn't some code where I say do not protect me, you do protect me, and everyone lives happily ever after.  DO NOT protect me.  Under any circumstances!

So, tl;dr, Doc should WIFOM, mafia'll do one thing or another and we'll see what happens at day break.
