I honestly have no freaking clue on how to read Mynd.

Someone said this game was full of people who are hard to read. I agree.

Posted

My strongest town read is Tommy which freaks me out. My other head disagrees too.

Least she used to. Not sure what you guys been up to in the night.

Posted

It was to Rand!

But I would love to actually Hydra with you, you were a great mentor, and I'm sure you'd be an awesome partner!

Posted

Yea I would be.

This isn't going as well as we hoped so far. I should be spamming and play on the flow of the game (like now) cause that's how I operate... And BFG should be listing thoughtful reads and wots and such.

Started great cause we been around on Sunday ... Then now I'm never online when I could engage people and BFG only had real time yesterday.

*nodnod*  It's hard through the week, during the day for me in particular now, with the switchover to our new program at work, all my spare time is sucked away.  I stopped taking lunch break in full >.<

Posted

Yea tell me about it. I'm back at work but still recovering from my hernia stuff. So I'm usually left too tired by the end of the day.

This whole page looks like Salami digging for something scummy to use against whoever he can.

Bad Salami!  Bad.

Posted

Actually... I have a hard time reconciling this as town!Darthe no matter what my other head says. Him of all people knows better. I find it impossible to buy that Darthe would believe this last statement of his.

Cause I'm sure he knows damn well that's not how I operate.

Going to work awfully soon so I had to skim a bit to catch up. Noted this:

Good catch! Except it's been adjusting over the past couple days, maybe a week. If you're serious about discerning my alignment, I encourage you to look through that game. You'll find the same villaTom.

If you want to ignore how villagery I am right now and keep pushing me, I'll push back. And maybe even rope some people into joining me!

You're a good enough player to be both self-aware of your meta and also able to keep it fairly consistent town or wolf.

And if you're going to threaten me to try and get me to back off, I interpret that as a HOOOWWWWLLLL.

TG is the player who is a complete wildcard in my book. I keep switching back and forth. But I 100% agree with this post. Tommy trying to clear himself by linking to another game is bollocks, and I'm surprised to see people taking it, no questions asked. Tommy is a good player and wouldn't be that hard to play to your own town meta as scum. Especially when you are conscious about it - like Tommy apparently is - and then using it for what it's worth. Self-meta-defense is always scummy in my book, and when you take control of it to the point where you pick a game and make people judge based on that game that you picked.... nope, not buying.

And yeah, threatening people to lay off is also anti-town behavior. As town you should be concerned about clearing yourself as town, and finding scum. As scum you should be concerned keeping heat off yourself. Threatening people to lay off falls in that second category.

Now I'll have to run to work!

I don't know about that Rand.  Mynd is a wildcard regardless of alignment.

The whole you vs. tg thing is what made me lean away from you personally Randzorz

(I'd hydra with you anyday  )

*waves to teh Csarmageddon*

He is, but some of the crazier things he does, he does as town.

When you say lean away do you mean lean away from thinking I was scum or town?

:D

Considering that I asked him to link the game that he was talking about, I feel like I was responsible for the linking portion, which is why i'm letting him go on that.

Now that you mentioned the threatening part, I noticed something else.  Its not the threatening part that makes me suspicious, but the fact that Tommy is only willing to go after TG if he doesn't think he's town.  The conditional shows that he's not town, who as Vos described, tries to hunt scum.  That seems like more of an OMGUS preview than anything.

Tommy could you explain/refute the above?

forgiven

to flesh out one of the quotes of yours I mentioned btw - about Drunk - I actually do believe it's fair to give a first-time-on-DM-player a (more or less) free pass through Day 1. Of course not if he says "But that's what Csarmi said in the QT" - but yeah. More or less. But thats a different discussion, and a discussion scum would want us to have. (while they sit in their corner eating popcorn!!!!!!!!!)

Still feverishly trying to catch up, but just had to laugh at this...(bolded/underlined)

You do realize that Hally is disagreeing with you right?  She's agreeing with me that with people new to mafia its fine, but not people new to Dm.

Hally at least remembers the D1 not lynching new players thing.  She said it is for truly new players, not transplants.  But at least somebody remembers, regardless of your interpretation of the word "new."

Hence, TG is not in crazy town.

Have I not also openly voiced my opinion regarding this matter??

And I'm the town drunk of Crazy Town so I have some authority!!

Posted

@Tommy - I also note how serious you are about letting everyone know not only that you're town, but what an absolute asset you are.  I don't disagree when you're town, but you're not this game and your nervousness is showing.

Quotes below with relevant parts bolded.

BFG, let's catch up tomorrow. I haven't forgotten you, just haven't gotten around to it. Got caught up in another game that's at must-lynch and I die tonight, so I have to solve it for the village before I die and it's a real fustercluck.

At the risk of opening another Pandora's Darthe, may I ask what I have done to deserve such praise?

It's interesting, from an outside-the-game perspective, how polarizing I am so far. I'm not used to it on DM, usually everyone just clears me and we move on. Makes me think I'm on the right track with something.

There's an emerging adage on POG that I think has some merit: "the most correct villager tends to get lynched D1."

Could be I'm seen as a good push because there are players here that are unfamiliar with me. Most of the players I have multiple games of experience with are clearing me.

Not TG though! You scoundrel!

Let's ask the audience.

Rand, Hallia, Lenlo: are the quoted posts more likely to come from a villager or a wolf mindset, IYO?

I don't understand this poll. The "audience" is limited to three players none of which is quoted or mentioned. Then susequent posts you proceed to credential yourself.

I certainly hope this doesn't degenerate to posting pics of winkies, because there are ladies present...

Posted

The "audience" is self explanatory. They were the three other people online and posting at the time. Even a cursory glance of the thread should have made that obvious. Shame on Darthe and Drunk for that.

Anyone who is popping in to say "OMGerd this is anti town behavior!" can get owned. You don't like the way I play? Fine. But you don't get to call it anti-town because it's different from what you do. I think most people here saw how that went with Des in Blackhoof's game.

The more people that make commentary like that, the easier it is for scum to lazily blend in to the crowd.

So knock it off.

Tommy and Cory often use previous game analysis to try to prove something. Last time I saw Tommy do it was on a case on Clov where he matched up his posts from a game on another site where he was scum with the posts he had in game we were playing. We ended up lynching Clov for it and he flipped town.

So, as worthless as that analysis is in practice, it's a null tell for me in regards to Tommy. He literally always does this. Generally speaking it's best to focus on this game and stop using previous games as if it means much of anything. It's not even referencing meta so much as actually matching word by word. It's dumb.

I just finished rereading and I have to say I really don't agree with Halli about Rand. lol   I think he's had an overall townie narrative.

Not loving DT at all. And if I had poop in a bag and a lighter, I'd be lighting up that bugger and leaving it at TG's doorstep.

Tommy could you explain/refute the above?

Half exhaustion, quarter exasperation, quarter skepticism. Here's the internal thought process with TG:

Not only was the timing odd given that I was just hashing it out with NotBob, but TG's reasoning for attacking me was half a lie right off the bat and the other half was meta reasoning that isn't accurate. Add to that his earlier sketchy behavior by simultaneously waning to be seen as the guy who makes the thread be serious while also goofing off himself and his borderline scum claim reaction to Mynd's initial case, and his "case" against me became hypocrisy. Which is ESPECIALLY interesting because he then says "maybe you're cleverly distancing scum with NotBob", implying he thinks or knows NotBob is scum! Yet he's not questioning NotBob, he's not talking about him. So BOTH NotBob and TG have used hypocritical arguments against me. That is straight up sketch.

But the converse to this is I remember TG being more flaccid scum when we were scumbros together some months ago. It's possible he just had the one burst of WIM last night to back up his scumbro last night since he laid cover to not be around today, but the willingness to be reasonable to someone whose chutzpah I could see as being misguided town, combined with my general exhaustion last night and unwillingness to thunderdome over what could have been a stupid misunderstanding, is now being construed as scummy because few people here have any idea what is and is not wolfy.

Hope that makes sense. I'm waiting for NB to post more in the meantime.

Vos is entering the "subtle push manipulation" range after that last post saying how scummy it is to reference old games. All I said was that I was occupied with another game. Rand asked for proof that I was telling the truth. I realized that since I was linking that game I could have you guys scan it to see that this new and scary meta of mine was actually just my defacto behavior as of late.

Trying to clear myself isn't scummy, it's good play.

Getting increasingly disappointed.
