I should be more confident than I am about Rand flipping scum.  I was sure Wombat was scum on D2 and quite surprised he flipped town.  I'm starting to worry that an assumption I made earlier in the game has cost us big time.  According to my PM about my HHH gift, it was different than any other gift I would receive from other players; however, this apparently does not mean that I am not an "insane" player.  The insanity has to do with my targets being randomized. 

 

So yeah....there is a chance that the three names I chose may have randomly......yeah........

Insanity: A player who is Insane directs their Night Actions against a random target every Night, no matter what they do. Players are not told that they are Insane, although they are not forbidden from deducing it or trying to figure it out. Insanity cannot be cured, except by death.

TG needs to make an appearance. He has mainly been lurking and focusing on bringing Mynds dream to the spotlight. Not much else. Completely null on him from what I read, unless Mynd actually flips scum - then TG is scumbuddy.

 

Feeling pretty good about Nyn for town. Clov too.

look, theres too much damn WIFOM and confusion surrounding the Mynd/Dap situation.  scum thrive in this type of environment so we need to eliminate it.  imo we're guaranteed a a scum either today or tomorrow on the unlikely chance that Rand flips town. 

 

rand is less scummy than Dap, but i can't shake the scummy impression that Dap left.  add onto Mynds actions of revealing the dreamer stuff D2, and that Despo was one of the kill last night.   i just dont see Mynd being the scum in this situation.

 

the only reason a scum would pull a gambit like this is if they were at LYLO.

 

 

 

If Rand is town, than Mynd is scum (because why would a townie make up a fake dream?) And I'm pretty sure Mynd is town. I still think Red should be lynched today.

@ Rand - i really hate to lynch newly replaced players in games.  especially a monster to read like this and seeing you put effort into catching up makes me feel even worse.   but i can't ignore the info Mynd gave us man.

 

I hate that Mynd has already pointed it out - which just makes it tripple-confusing-wwwwwwifom - but find it strange that so many - and perhaps you in particular - don't question the truth behind Mynds claimed dream, and his results.

 

i did question Mynds claim dude. Mynd even commented on me questioning it and how it made him think me more townie for it.

 

the fact is, we have WIFOM around this and we need to get it solved. the only way to do this is to lynch the scummiest one.

What makes you sure scum didn't shoot Des? I agree that it's more likely that they shot Pral due to him soft claiming cop. But the way you mention it like it's a given looks fishy.

N2 - both kills were on townies. one was on a claimed cop, and the other on the townie he was vetting. this rules out a vig, cause no vig in their right mind would have shot them.

 

this means we're left with b or c. seeing as N1 Len was scum and was shot and the scum wouldn't shoot their own.

 

Mynds wording of his results: "at least one is anti-town" gives more credibility toward there being a SK and scum team, because of the wording.

  I'm feeling very townish on Dap.  The one thing that Lenlo did of significance before getting frozen was to make a more than casual case against Dap.  I don't think he would have done that to a fellow scum, especially just before baiting the Mod with the H stuff. 

 

 

Forgot to add this.  The scenes read like Lenlo got silenced for Hastur.  However, Hoof came in with MODSPEAK to specifically point out that he didn't kill Lenlo.  It's still possible scum team has a silencer, although less likely given that Hoof never denied silencing Lenlo.  So Lenlo could have cased Dap and then silenced himself, or it could have been due to mod baiting.  Either way, we don't really know.  Hence, I'm less sold about Dap.

 

Also, H stuff....you should go to Japan and do a google search.  Or just ask people to help you find some...heh.

 

 

To clarify on both the Lenlo freezing and my Dreamer/Nightmare status:

 

I don't know if you recall, but I also invoked the same name three times to test it out.  I placed my vote on Tommy because if I got frozen too, I wanted it there on who I felt was the most scummy at the time.

 

Instead of being frozen, I was told that I would have a Nightmare during the night where I could submit three names and I would either be told if at least one is mafia, if all of them are innocent, AND I had a 33% chance of dying. It was essentially a one-shot Dreamer deal with the chance of brutal cerebral murder.  I was also told that this would not work like those wonderful toys floating around here.  It was something much different. 

 

I actually was going to select Red/RTE/Dap until the Tommy flip.  I held off for a long while before submitting the names. I chose Dap/Des/Womby.  I was told at least one of them is mafia.  By POE, I think Des/Womby would be a good lynch.

 

So since this was my result for the H business, I'm positive that Lenlo's silencing was a direct result of invoking that name.

 

 

K thanks.  Ok one thing that's irritating me about this dream is that it sounds so real and believable.  If I wasn't in my situation right now, I would believe Mynd.  Even now, I'm trying to think of all the possibilities of what could happen where we could both be town.  But, unless the insane mechanics work differently than I thought, I don't see how his info could have been falsified.

First of all, awk, I had to look up VT to remember it meant vanilla town.  Second of all, don't like how you're saying you should be more confident about me being scum.  I mean I guess I like it because that means I'm towntelling? but you are leaving a way open for yourself to escape tomorrow if I get lynched.

 

Thirdly, I wanted to talk about insanity with Mynd's role.  It was my understanding, which I don't know that it has been right at any point, that a dreamer doesn't actually visit the 3 people that he gets information about.  Instead, the interaction is solely between the mod and the player.  This mainly comes from my time at epicmafia where you don't get to choose the 3 people though.  However, since Mynd chose his people, this might be different.  Mynd I would appreciate it if you could ask Hoof in your PM whether or not you visited the 3 people when you chose them for dreaming.  Until I get the reply though, I'm sticking with my belief that insanity wouldn't change his information.

 

Fourthly, since you said you don't feel as confident about me being scum as you should, I have two questions.  Are you lynching me more because of the dream or my/Dap's scummy play? A similar question, but without the dream, would you still be going for me as your top choice?

K first of all, I agree with the scummy dawn, I think I already posted my bit on why she's mafia.  The insistence of some people consistently pointing out that its either Mynd or I and we are lynching both of us between the two days is a tad bit scary.  11 people left, and lets take the highest possibility of 5 mafia, imo, using the 3:1 rule.  4 mafia left means that they need 8 people left to win, basically 3 townie deaths.  That can happen just after my lynch alone.  Even if one of the mafia is killed in the next night though, there are 8 people and 3 mafia.  With a Mynd lynch (if he's town, I'll get to this part later) and not another scum death in the next night, mafia would win the game.

 

So first of all, yes I mentioned the possibility of Mynd being town.  This is in lieu not of the insane possibility but everyone continuously insisting on it just being us two, besides a few people.  This could be just to gain easy town cred (which even town does), or it could point to the theory ahead.  Its a bit out of reach, but something to keep in mind.

 

Secondly, to most assuredly prevent anything like the above from happening, I give this message to whoever is directing the second kill.  Even if its two mafia teams, which I highly doubt because if the mafia ratio is kept, that would mean very small mafia teams.  Idk, whenever I saw 2 mafia teams, it was in larger games I think.  Anyways, to the second killer, or whichever is not on a Mynd scum team, please kill Mynd during the night so that we have a lower chance of having mafia win, and we don't have to worry about getting him during the next day.

Thanks Rte.  Mynd's claim sounds legit, but still wrong from my end.  Mynd ask the bolded question to Hoof in your PM, but until then not escaping our special bond.    Red and other so called Mynd/Rand one town extremists I place a soft FoS on because it seems a little weird, but may very likely be completely true.  There is a possible crazy situation here, but I doubt it exists.  Still to prevent it from happening, whoever directs the other kill, kill Mynd.

I've been giving this a lot of thought. Lenlo said the name three times, gets silenced. Aka negative outcome. Mynd says it three times and gets a nightmare that presumably allows him to name three people and be told if there's scum in them. Doesn't it strike you as a bit odd that he got a positive utility out of it, when Len got a negative one?

 

I'm not familiar with the theme so I don't get the significance of the name and saying it three times. Can anyone clarify on what it means within the theme?
