It has been my experience that players who say "anyone who agrees with me is town, anyone who disagrees with me is obviously a scum!" is either scum trying to bully the town to follow them or is a terrible town leading everyone astray.  Trust me on this, I've been both of these kinds of players many times. 

 

The fact that Despo, by his own hashtag admission, is acting lazy with his scumhunting makes him anti-town.  I'm not saying he's scum exactly, but he's not helping at all.  He could be scum and that whole drive-train on Darthe was a gambit, but a lazy town is not pro town.

 

Consider this:  His reason for thinking me scum (when you boil it down to the core) is that I did not believe Darthe to be scum until he revealed.  He reasons that my hammer vote was because I was scum and I didn't want to look scum.  That's it.  That's his whole case.  Everything else is just his spin on that same storyline. 

 

Yet, when NotBob votes Halia, who did the exact same thing, NotBob must be my scum partner. 

 

Really Despo?  Let's assume that I was scum.  Wouldn't you consider Halia a more likely suspect than NotBob as my mafia partner?  She was the one who voted before me. Plus, she has even more reason to be suspicious based on her earlier defense of Leelou during the Dawnsecution. 

 

Also, if I were scum, why did I hammer? I didn't need to.  If the lynch didn't reach majority, it would have gone to NO LYNCH and Darthe would have been safe. 

 

The bottom line is that a lazy town is either being a terrible townie who will lose the game for us or a scum who will win the game for them.  Let's consider all suspects.  If at the end of the day, I am still the prime suspect among everyone after everyone has been considered, so be it.  Let the Lord of Chaos hang. We have one scummy down so we can risk a mis-lynch provided it gives us good information. 

 

But lets not be so narrow minded in our scumhunting.  Especially for such weak reasoning.

Just re-read the whole thread.  A few people (like Darthe, Mynd, and Tina) have me waffling back and forth based on reading individual posts.  Others (like Dice & Salami) don't have much content for me to read on anything but individual posts [instead of looking as a whole].

Really is staggering to me that you have Len higher up on your town list than me...

 

 

Also meh @ the surefire Dice scum read. Case on others far outweighed the case on Dice imo...

 

Mebbe it's your whole town points system. It might need to be recalibrated, I think you give out town points too easy

^ exactly.  I was just in the process of pointing out that same goof with bold and quoted and all that when I saw the notification of a new post...which was Salami's.  So the lynch on Darthe was on auto-pilot.
