Are you really arguing that self aligned roles are not a threat to the town?

Some of them. Some are helpful to town, some are helpful scum some are helpful to no one.

Mainly what im arguing is your insistence on lynching someone when we have been told we will face dire consequences if we do is just plain stupid.

Yeah no that is completely wrong. You should never leave a self aligned role alive because at the first opportunity they can and will stab you in the back to win. You are as scummy as they come. After Verbal hangs you're next up for the noose as far as I'm concerned.

As for your main argument. You are failing to take into account that this is a self professed bastard game.

The mod is lying to us. IF there is a time he is telling us the truth it is in our role PMs (maybe) and when he types in gold (maybe).

If you take his word for anything you are leaving an awful lot to chance.

Looks like you guys are losing gracefully thus far.  I like it.  I like it a lot.

So who wants a shiny role just for today?

If so, state "I love Verbal" in green bold at the beginning of your next post.

Not even if I received a closet full of BPV's.

That's a dogmatic and often a silly way to play. You just need to know when to keep them and when not to. And to make sure that they'd better off being on your side.

Consult Mish's Hunger Games game for reference.

WRong wrong and more wrong. Plenty of self aligned roles will help win with town because it is in there best interest.

Also you are failing to take into account that while this is a bastard game and he can lie to us, this is a bastard game and he can do whatever the hell he pleases in terms of bad consequences.

Yeah, but like Csarmi said, there would be a pattern. It would not be a random do-anything kind of actions. It is better that we figure out the pattern sooner rather than later, no?

He said there'll be a pattern to the madness. So it's worth asking him questions. Eventually, we might even find out how the game works. Probably after dying...

Verb himself has stated that the game is designed as a pu zzle, meant to be figured out. He cares about his setup, you should all plan to use that in your favor. I certainly do.

Third parties die on sight. I can only imagine one or two exceptions and you would be foolish to rely on their word in any other situation. After all Csarmi, was Des conf. Town? He claimed human.

Last, I second Ishy about praising verb.

I love Verbal.

Note the wording on his "truth." He did not say everything in our role PMs is truth, just that they contain truth. They may also contain lies. Having said that, I'm inclined to believe he meant that they are completely truth, but I just wanted to put that out there.

I don't see anything wrong with setup talk in a bastard game, either.

You're mixing things up. No he wasn't. Mish was confirmed survivor, however. Leaving her alive would have granted sure victory, but people have this dogma that third party dies on sight and guess what happened.

Berf what i was trying to accomplish was to see what happened if you used Gold. But nothing happened.

Someone made the point that Verbal should be the last lynch. That does make some sense when u look at the comics. You always have to put down the Horsemen first. and that does seem too easy. Apocalypse is a tough mofo. Possibly the toughest villian in the marvel universe

No. If they were entirely truthful, he would have said so. Furthermore, we must assume that the things he said about not being able to win are false.

What happened was we lynched somone who wasn't town and had a negative utility role. Then we proceeded to win the game.

Your dogma is worse than their dogma. Third parties can be useful if harnessed, but the safest move is almost always to lynch them.

Good point, Wombat. I'm back to being skeptical again. lol

I do think we can trust the most important parts of them though. And in my experience, Verbal prefers Aes Sedai speak to outright lies. I'm taking everything he says with buckets of salt.

Basically, I'm playing like I would play an unknown sanity cop. Not many single pieces of info can be trusted imo, but the overall structure can.

I got no dogma. I always consider the actual position.

Keep telling yourself that. Next time I'm Survivor I'll make sure to pursue a joint victory with whatever side you aren't on :)

And for the record nobody can truly be "cinfirmed". Ill be certain to keep you alive if I ever get SK though. That should be fun.

If that were true you'd have no problem with lynching Verbal.

Instead you're joining Lenlo in defending him.

We KNOW he cannot be Town. That should be good enough for a lynch on Day 1.
