I have only read two of Verbal´s bastard games but I think that figuring out the puzzles seem to be important.

Mod Note:  I may or may not be lying in PM responses or game posts.  However, your role PMs contain valid information and are not lies.

This may or may not be true, if I understand things correctly.

IT IS TRUE.

Yea I've been treating pretty much everything you've said as a lie, including the role PM

unvote vote verb

I have to tell the truth sometime; otherwise, the game doesn't work.  Your role PMs are true.  Everything else is up for debate.

And this.

From what I take - Role PM's and Gold text are truth. Therefore questioning the Mod, and seeking info, is/can be a worthwhile pursuit.

FOS @ Despo for FOSing me for trying to get info  And play town apparently.

I really don't have any solid reads. Everyone has been playing so stale and uptight.

Copied list to remind me who is in game.

1. Darthe - For a start I have no idea what the Nolder joke is. But for the most part Darthe Darthing, too early to tell.

2. Tina - Doesn't know the theme, wary bout voting Mod. Fair enough. Not giving me much.

3. Lenlo - "Don't pick on the mod." was the only post I can remember/notice, mixed feels on this one. I don't think I've played with you before? Seems a throwaway line but hmm.

4. Salami - Voting Verbal. Too early to tell but getting involved and signs look good.

5. Dice - Random Gold Vote that wasn't counted - What are you trying to achieve here?

6. Ishy - null.

7. Mish - Back to being a newb. Null.

8. Dap - Trying to get the game going with some early moves. Leaning town.

9. Pralaya - A checkin and... thats it? Null.

10. RTE - Not a lot. Posting some, but not saying much.

11. Nyn - Cheeky git as ever. Null.

12. Wombat - Too early. Waiting and watching.

13. Lily - Been too long since I have played with lily but not enough to go off. Floating through on jibes and filler.

14. Berf - TAF. Not a lot going on, asking the mod a question and a check in.

15. Krak - Two posts, check in and a nada.

16. Nolder - Leaning town. Pushing and prodding and making sure everyone is uncomfortable which is exactly what should be happening.

17. Des - Not sure why he against me looking for info? Misguided I feel on Nolder but leaning town.

If I cull that down, I'd be looking at RTE, Dice, Desp, and maybe Mish and Lenlo and Ishy because I'm not as familiar there.

I really don't think voting Verbal is the right idea. BUT, it is possible within the game mechanics. If it served no purpose, it wouldn't be in unless it was a red herring, and I don't the mechanic being used as such.

So Verbal is there to be voted. In a Bastard game.

I wish all Mods had chatter like this in game.

I really need to host a Bastard game..

I put the bastard in Bastard Mod.

Besides, I don't mod regular games.  This is what I do.

Berf, you contradict yourself. You say golden text tells the truth, and then you just up and believe Verbal when he says the PMs are always truth, even though that text wasn't golden.

Talk about contradicting yourself, hehehe.

Des I applaud your attempt at trying to focus the game into more serious discussion but your assessment on me is pretty off.

If I cared about figuring Verbal's puzzles I'd be afraid to lynch him because "something bad might happen". Instead, I don't care.

As a person in his position he by definition cannot be town. He knows everyone's roles. He is scum/third party aligned.

I wasn't trying to create some big debate about whether we should lynch him or not I was trying to get someone else to vote him first to see if he would even count the vote while also commenting on the fact that even if "something bad" did happen town is in it's best position to weather it on day 1.

But the one crucial mistake your making here is this: You think he has to have an alignment at all. For all we know his alignment could be MOD, the thing holding the fabric of this game together or some random crap. He doesnt have to be playing for any team or playing against any team.

Now your right about us being in the best position to weather the bad thing on D1, but if we can avoid a bad thing at all shouldnt we? Why choose to take a bad thing just for the sake of testing something when we can find scum, get rid of all of them and if the game isnt over *then* try and lynch Verb when we have nothing else to worry about.

I don't think there was ever any question as to whether he'd count it. I still prefer a Salami lynch. D1 Verbal lynch is an obvious trap imo.

Verb says if we lynch him there will be dire consequences but he also says mafia will defend him (which wouldn't be the case if the dire consequences were anti-town). Clearly he is misleading us somewhere. I think given the tone of his rules that he is trying to get lynched. The best way to get a mule to move forward is to pull on his tail. I'd rather not respond to Verbal's goads.

FYI, I gave my alignment to you all in the OP.  I even had my own role PM, remember?  And remember what I said about the validity of role PMs?
