He was the ruler of Olympus.

 

He was the God of Sky and Thunder.

 

He defeated his own father to earn his throne.

 

And now he had defeated the Titans.

 

Or so he thought.

 

With Prometheus the traitor bound to a rock, he considered the Titans crushed and mankind once again slaves to his will.

 

And why shouldn't they be? Was he not their God? Was he not King of the Gods?

 

But what Zeus took for granted was the resilience and determination of the Titans and Humans alike.

 

Atlas (Darthe) and Epimetheus (Wombat) sought to avenge their brothers.

 

 

The wanted revenge. They wanted justice.

 

Who better to be held accountable than the King of the Gods himself?

 

Not all the Gods were fond of their King, and the brothers found aid to their cause in Asclepius (peace).

 

 

After all, the God of healing and medicine was a popular one among mortals, and he was seldom visited by any of the Immortals, so few he counted as friends.

 

Among the humans, there were those who tested the Gods.

 

There was Arachne (Berf), a great mortal weaver who boasted that her skill was greater than that of Athena, competing against her before killing herself and being brought back to life by the goddess as a spider.

 

 

She might have paid with her life, but was immortalized in her own way.

 

Then there was Orpheus (Pralaya), a legendary musician, poet, and prophet. He defied the gods by (almost) rescuing his wife Eurydice from the depths of the Underworld itself.

 

 

Thus even the King of the Gods was not beyond scrutiny.

 

He was not beyond accusations.

 

He was not beyond justice.

 

And justice was served.

 

No one intervened.

 

Zeus had committed crimes.

 

They would let him pay the price for them.

 

Besides, Olympus would be needing a new ruler now...

Oh, no! I was so happy that Thorum killed Csarmi but he would have cleared me. Grrrr...

You got killed because you didn't speak Tina <3 well done though, avoiding the team all game really helped you.  

 

I think that town was a bit OP here but perhaps that is just what Krak being gone all game did to you guys.  Honestly this game got tight on mafia.  Can't wait to read the QT.

 

And that was a tough fake claim.  The thought behind it was that if the game looked hopeless to the mafia they would react differently.  Who could help but to react to another situation like that after all this turmoil?  Pralaya basically cleared himself with his reaction as well.  But it was risky because if we mislynched today I essentially signed Wombat's death certificate myself.  Had hopes Peace would pick that up though and protect Womby tonight.

I'll get this out of the way.

 

I didn't use the Oracle role properly. Should have perhaps limited it to 1 question per phase. Nolder and Verbal did not discuss that with me and I made that decision on the spot. Likely a wrong one. But a lot of things happened this game that were quite unexpected:

 

1) Des lynched Day 1, thus Mafia losing a PR off the bat.

 

2) Mish not surviving longer to play with the PRs.

 

3) Dice and Cloud being so trusting of each other.

 

4) Krak going MIA obviously.

 

5) Mafia team killing Basel night 1

Just read the dead thread!  Honestly, I do not know how this game would come out if redone.  It is a very fun setup and ultimately I think that your Oracle was swingy enough that them asking unlimited questions put the game squarely in the towns favor and 1 per day squarely in mafias favor.  Nonetheless thats an absolutely fine thing to have happen because it is reasonable to anticipate roles at their average use rather than best.

What you could have done with the oracle is this:

 

Don't make the game setup determninistic. Have several slightly different scenarios and when game begins, pick one of them randomly. Differences should be small, designed to bring uncertainty into the PR / race setup scenraios.

 

I believe that the number of questions/phase should have been limited as well. Makes it less swingy.
