On an unrelated note, how do you deal with all the noise? Have people tried instigating "lynch all lurkers" and PL's around here? I find my reads containing a HUGE block of nulls, which is rather worrying indeed. Worse, it seems like only those people that put themselves out there catch any flak...

I'm totally down for that this time. Look at player posts after every thread has reached Day Two. You have less than ten posts in any of the three? Run 'em up. Let's do it.

I'm a big fan of that idea, at least for a day or two to coax everyone to be active.

 

Also, it's not just the complete absence of posts, but some people drop in, banter with Darthe, and leave again...

 

I agree with that second part, it shouldn't just be on post count alone. Some include much more content in their posts than others.

So which is it Serra? First you said you wanted to establish a similar meta across all three threads (which is scummy in and of itself, and I think if that WAS your goal you did a poor job of it). Now you're saying you're going to use this thread as the voice for the others, which sets it up for you to be able to lurk more in the shadows in the other threads.

For rather large and overarching posts like the ones about Csarmi, I (arbitrarily  , being number 1) chose this thread to post them. What post do you mean when you say I wanted to establish a similar meta across threads?

Dap, how come you don't like me in this thread? All of my posts so far except this one had been global, I just so happened to choose thread 1 to compile them. I'd understand if you disagree with my points as a whole, but it's weird you'd give me a thread-specific read based on them.

 

You basically say that he shouldn't be able to have a thread-specific read on you because you had been posting "global" posts so far, in other words that each of your posts had pertained to the game as a whole instead of being specific to that thread.

 

In other words, you were playing as "globally" as you could, and you even question how someone could get a specific read on you in one thread. That looks an awful lot like masking your meta to me.

I had both global and local points to make, I just happened to start with the global ones, as they seemed the more immediately interesting of the two. When dap mentioned that, I hadn't even posted in the other two threads. That's hardly me trying to mask meta, that's simply me still having been in the process of catching up and choosing to post general observations first. Unless you think I actually intended on spending the entire game ONLY posting general comments in thread 1, I don't see what part of that you take issue with.
