Well firstly I disagree that the theory was sound, as the likelihood of getting someone to out themselves would have to be taken into account when considering whether it was a good idea or not, and I also don't like the concept of letting him off the hook in 2 threads if he claimed scum in one...

Finally, and here's one of my biggest problems with it: Why would scum Csarlami in one thread care two pebbles about town in the other two threads?

While I wasn't a huge proponent of Serra's plan, I can't see the scum motivation in proposing it. Mostly, I think it's pretty Town thought because of the answer to the question in bold. If I were Town in 3 threads [as Salami claims], a Town PR in one of them, and facing the threat Salami is in? I'd claim scum in one of my VT threads - thus saving my PR. Then again, I'd probably do the same thing if I were scum in one thread to save my scum role. Hindsight FTW.

What misery it was to be outside that evening.  Rain scared the children away, little costumed hero's that never got the chance to run in the streets.  Perhaps they would have saved him.  Chandler Rose found himself sitting at the pub that day, watching the tele ramble on about the death.  If it wasn't a slap in the face of the Chancellors authority it would never have been mentioned.  He sighed, the poor TV fools would be fined again, and turned away from the bar to go home.  The man beside him started to talk about it though.  Chandler didn't have much interest in explaining his views, he knew most wouldn't agree.  

Drunk men don't care much for that sort of thing.  He vaguely knew the man.  Another regular, always in earlier than he.  Nobody that came to the Faux and Hound ever went elsewhere.  Besides, the rain out tonight was swirling up the mists and it only looked to get worse.  Unfortunately, this man looked in a debating mood.

 

Rose didn't want to get into it.  That's what the onlookers said, what they all took away from it.  When the EMS arrived to take him away, his face stomped in by a crowd, it appeared that he had finally come to understand that his opinion really could get him killed.

 

Csarmi, Chandler Rose: VT has been lynched.

 

It is now NIGHT.  You have 24 hours.

ANNOUNCEMENT:

I keep getting questions of what you can or cannot do in relations to being dead on one thread and alive in another.  

 

Wombat and I recognize that this is a difficult situation as you cannot unknow things, etc.  

 

The simple goal here is that you treat games that you are dead in as if they no longer exist.  

 

You don't use them to case people (which won't work anyhow), you don't post about your life in them or things that have happened in them (especially not after you died), and in general once it is gone you may as well not read it anymore.  When others mention something about it in your thread, feel free to reply since you are alive there.  Simply don't bring up and add your own information from a place that you are dead at.

 

Does that make sense to everyone?

And Csarmi kinda of emo'd out for a bit then reigned it back in and started scum hunting last minute. I think people calling him a liar for not self hammering are full of it in this thread. It was obvious he wasn't lying, but that he changed his mind as some good discussion got going.

He said "I lied" followed up with some yada about lying having it's place sometimes. However I read it, that just sounds to me as if he never had any intention of self-hammering to begin with.

Ummm...no?

I have used past games I was in to counter meta arguments pretty often.

The games don't cease to exist when you die in them. 

I think we should still be allowed to reference them we just shouldn't be able to give opinions on the state of that game.

 

Example: "In Game 2 on page 12 Soandso said this which is in contradiction with what he said in this game but in Game 3 he contradicts both of these and says something entirely different." 

 

Example: "In Game 2 on page 12 Soandso said this, which I thought was scummy and that's why I voted him, which is in contradiction..."

 

See? I'd think the first example should be allowed but not the second example. Facts for casemaking vs opinions about games you are no longer in.

Well, by referencing what happens in other threads for comparisons to the one you're primarily concerned with will give implications of your thoughts in the other threads.

^ that's the inherent problem. It could mess things up so you guys either get to do this or I have to ban cross game chat completely.

 

I get that it creates a logical gap, just view it as a game constraint.
