[OP Tournament]: Wombat vs. Sorcha

Wombat walked calmly to the Battle Grounds. This would be the first time he had been to the Battle Grounds in a long time. He prefered real combat to the rigid structure of fake bouts but both had their merits. Wombat siezed saidin and sized up Sorcha as they saluted each other, fists to chests. She was fairly strong, but he did not think she had any angreal. Wombat had one. As well as a sa'angreal that he kept hidden. Some might think that it was unfair to use angreal on an unaided channeler. Those people usually died when they got their first taste of combat. There are no rules to battle. You use everything at your disposal, and you fight as dirty as you need to.

Wombat picked out flows and wove a relatively simple, but lethal web. He was strongest in Fire and Earth, so he used those for now.

Charred almost completely black, Sorcha winced as she got up from the ground. She wouldn't last long in this fight, and the only thing that could possibly help her was to beseech the Great Lord for some of his power. Closing her eyes and blocking out the pain, she concentrated and prayed to the Great Lord.  The True Power was granted quickly, and as she felt the power flow through her, she felt almost no pain from her injuries. Weaving flows to use the attack Storm of the Blight, she watched as her opponent turned slightly grey. Not long after she'd released the weave, the True Power had left her, and she know felt her injuries even more. Trying not to imagine what the next attack would be like, she hummed to herself to give her vocal cords something to do while waiting.

Wombat cut a tendril of something dark and greasy away from him. He had not seen flows. Sorcha must have been channeling the so-called True Power. This one was truly in the grip of the Dark One then. Nothing to do but keeping battering away at her and try to keep her on her heels.

Sitting on the ground, Sorcha could no longer feel her legs and her skin was horrifying to look at. Flesh burned to the bone in some places, she was barely keeping herself from screaming in agony. The Great Lord's power could grant her relief once more, and she begged him for the power that brought her relief. Sighing as she no longer felt the pain, she wove more flows using the True Power and her opponent was losing color fast. She also saw marks forming in different areas of the skin. Releasing the power once more, she closed her eyes and knew that with his next attack, major healing would have to be used.

Another attack of the Shadow. Wombat gritted his teeth and focused on spinning a thin thread of fire that would sneak through Sorcha's guard. A residual muscle spasm jarred him and the thread jerked out of his control and then vanished.

Relieved that there was no more pain inflicted at the moment, once again, Sorcha reached for the True Power and wove Storm of the Blight again. It was all she could do to try and beat her powerful opponent. Once more, it weakened him, but she knew he was only knowing pain because the Great Lord willed it so, and he could crush her at any time.

Saidin felt eager. Wombat had fought in the Dragon's campaign against the Seanchan. This felt like saidin had felt then as they had worked their way into Altara. Perhaps it was a residual effect from one of Sorcha's attacks, but Wombat did not think so. Whatever the cause, he needed to focus, so he enveloped himself even deeper in the Oneness and focused on a single thread of Fire.
