Okay, so we currently have 21 players alive.  Of them DPR says four are possessed.  I have been reading back a bit, and while noting inconsistent or scummy play is difficult in this case I think that we have had ample time to note those who have been long standing mafia.  While we can't be certain which order possessions have happened in I feel that it is a safe bet to assume that everyone would be on their A game during a DPR game and thus I am drawn to particularly popular players.  If I had to single a few out I would say that Peace, Dap, Tress, Myself, EP, Nol, Kae, Crush, Ape, and Leelou are in that group.  Alternatively, TG, Berf, Cloud, RTE, Hally, Tig, and Kronos are all relatively new.  Since we are assuming that the mafia will be on their "A" game however, we need to consider that neither group would be particularly salient, the mafia choosing to select members from each group.  Thus, let us examine the two deceased and those killed so far.  Ithi, perhaps one of the most well known on DM, and NotBob, one of the older well known players.  Which leaves those in the other categories and a total of six recruits.  Now, my prediction here is that the mafia will slant towards this group, targeting mainly those players who are considered good and popular over others with the occasional good newbie to throw people off.  I am assuming that those who weren't mentioned and those who are in the new category are less likely to be recruited.and so now intend to go back and look specifically at the group of experienced players, keeping in mind those who have been viewed and that predictions should be offset with a cap of 2 at most.  I'll chose the two with the best cases and post those.  However, in such a quick paced game if someone could find the most suspect unmentioned and most suspect new player that would be grand.  Thoughts?

The FLIR camera flares to life, although the angle is not quite correct. The heat signature, however, is.

As it turns out, Rand is not on of the possessed.

On the other hand, no one is up for a bean burrito run either.

The crowd hurriedly leaves the room...

*ucking DM - you cannot see the fart-caught-on-FLIR link because DM doesn't allow it. Meh

1. Ambiguity not helpful. In the past you confirmed people were human/town but you only told us Rand is not possessed. Was that intentional or an oversight? In other words can you confirm Rand is town/human?

2. PM me the link you were trying to use even if it doesn't work. I may be able to fix it for you.

Ok, so Rand is not possessed. I'm going to go with everyone else - Tress has been a bit over defensive, but I still think Basel and Kronos are good places to look due to past activity.

I like your logic Darthe.

What makes me mozg unsettled on Tress is that she hasn't really acknowledged the post that made people suspicious of her in the first place; at least not that I remember seeing.

Which logic? The part where he lists 10 of the 21 players left, as veterans? Or the part where he lists 7 newbies? Or the part where he implies that the scum could be made up of any combination of those 17 names?

Simply the part that the ones who's most veteran or most newbies would be a logical place to pick. Those that's been around for a while, but doesn't really have reputation as good players (like myself, heh) probably wouldn't be as likely targets.

I was trying to point out that Tress hasn't answered about that post; in the hope that she would. Everyone can make a bad post, but it's their reaction that's damning for me, and how she simply has ignored it does not sit good with me. I want to see her talk about it, and if she ignores it again next time she's online, she has my vote for sure.

A group of you peaks quietly as you walk down a hallway to check equipment. The droplet of blood sitting in the middle of the hallway shines bright red under your flashlight. It seems odd for there to be only one, and a feeling of dread creeps over you.

You shine the light further down the hall.

Another drop, and then a trail appear. What must have been a trickle turns into a sizable amount, and it leads into a room.

It is with great trepidation that you turn the corner and shine the light inside. Sakae lay in several pieces around the room. It is a massacre.

SAKAE, TOWN, IS DEAD.

TGlems gasps at the site Sakae's demise and runs from the room, hyperventalating...

As he leaves the group further behind, he notices that his breath is frosting in the air.

His windpipe is suddenly frozen as wicked eyes appear in front of him. They are the last thing he sees before the blackness takes him.

There isn't much distinction to make between say 19 (Sakaea), 21 (Songstress), and 24 (you, Kaylee) in a 100+ page thread.

I'd lynch any of you three and more besides. I voted Songstress specifically because I saw someone else vote her. It's as simple as that.

So, did it simply go over your head that when you combine "most veteran or most newbies" you get 17 out of the 21 players left? Meaning he typed a whole paragraph to basically say it could be anyone... there actually is NO logic, lol.

Regarding your comments on Tress, you are influencing her train without joining it. May not feel that way to you, but that's what the net result is when you apply pressure and continually point out how someone isn't answering for XYZ. You don't need to vote her to help get her lynched, that is why you got my attention... Hell, that's the same reason SHE got my attention, she was doing the same thing.

With 17 players, it takes 9 to lynch.

Seems like he's hiding to me. Maybe a couple votes will get him to talk, if he talks we should know pretty quickly if he's scum... he's possibly the biggest nervous nellie ever when scum.

I did respond about that post, Mish. And Ape responded to my response, apparently he was not impressed. Your insistence that I did not address it, however, is mistaken.

Ape, I didn't insinuate anything. I answered the question that Rand had not been viewed, and added the fact that if I'd had the chance to, I'd have done it myself. I've been suspicious of him all game.

As for EP, he was getting very close to being lynched at that point, and I wanted a chance to think about things before voting. I'd just gotten back into civilisation after a couple of days in the woods, and was catching up. I developed a headache and went to bed early, and frankly was feeling bad enough that I forgot about the game until I woke up this morning.

I felt like EP was reaching on a lot of his comments, to be honest. I was particularly uncomfortable with the way he went after Darthe, who had just been viewed as town the previous phase - if we accept that whoever is converting the possessed will be going after those who have been viewed as town, those who were viewed earlier in the game seem a bigger risk than one who was viewed most recently.

The main reason I didn't feel uncomfortable enough to vote him right then was that I agreed with him about Rand.

And in the absence of a viewing, I'm still looking at Rand as the best option. I'll be back at my house tonight with my laptop, which will make it easier to page back and look for other pings.

I did say "as far as I can remember". This game is way too big for me to hold it all in my head.

So what are you thinking now that Rand has been viewed?

No, wasn't impressed. That said, I'm okay with spreading the heat around today in an effort to root out some filth. We're getting to a game size now where I think we can more effectively hunt... which is why I think the old "low activity" excuse for voting someone is lazy and contrived right now.

I'm looking more at maneuvering, subtle play and comments design to influence, without leading. Your comments fell into that definition.

So what are you thinking now that Rand has been viewed?

So you go from nudging Tress, to voting her because I called you out for nudging, to shrugging off your suspicion of her and quickly unvoting just like that, eh?

You didn't even notice her answer, and now just because she answered you are content and no longer feel suspicious?

I feel like you are going through the motions a bit.

You're right; I am. I have a migraine, I'm trying to settle a massive situation with our apartment building, and after 104 pages of this game I still haven't gotten the grip of it. I'm messed up and not on top of my game at all.
