You jumped pretty hard on the Nolder slip. I read it and initially took it the way he claims he intended, about whether or not town can stop possessed recruiting. It seemed like you were being opportunistic.

Why not EP? He's voting Nolder for the same reason.

Because first off, now that the recruiting mechanism has been confirmed it clears no one, I myself am only a 100% gurranteed town until the end of the phase, I'm probably the likely target for recruitment as well. The FLIR item was wasted, instead of clearing me, we could have cleaned up this mess with Nolder right quick. This is why I say a townie jumped the gun phase 1 in killing Turin, because again someone jumped the gun and used an item instead of taking time to think about it.

Also you are assuming all items are the same, odds are there are some more powerful than others. I was thinking what if the cellphones being dead was a reference to an item being blocked? That suggestion early on about EMP would make a right handy role block mechanism. There are just to many variables at this time to be suggesting anyone reveal their actions, it's like asking for the cop to step forward with no cause to do so.

I think that clearing you was a good move as you also had some pressure on you. I also don't agree about the cop analogy because a cop will have future power also whereas an item user may not.

However, I take your point that it depends on the item. The reason I was thinking of to not reveal has nothing to do with items, but rather recruitment. People who used items can still be recruited, which means their reveal may not help town long term. However, I still lean toward the reveal because at least it is one person who is town during that phase.

Why not EP? He's voting Nolder for the same reason.

So, per your understanding..it's possible a vetted town player votes for Nolder for the same reasoning that I do..yet I can't be town. Do you not see the logic fail there?

Implying scum can't use a townies faulty reasoning to vote another townie off?

If he thinks the reasoning is off but knows EP is town regardless the logical choice to vote would be you.

I knew that starting the game on a weekend would limit some players ability to post. I also know that some folks have wonky schedules and you never know when life is going to throw a wrench in your schedule. Having said that, I guarantee you that the Town doesn't want me to mod-kill other Townies for any reason.

He also clearly stated recently that he would not be a bastard mod.

@MOD: Would you consider third party roles in a game you described as "town vs mafia" to be bastard modding?

There really is no good way for me to answer that question without potentially spoiling somebody's play. If I confirm much more about who is who, I limit the ability of some players to WIFOM or mislead to their advantage.

I will say this, I nearly always mention the part about it being a "Town vs. Mafia" affair. I say this because I intentionally provide and leave room for players to distract each other (as is the point of the game). I could also say "don't get distracted". Trying to take a sentiment literally will prove out the same as it always does.

I will also say that "gaming the mod" is usually frowned upon. I rather enjoy it myself as it offers me a chance to game the player right back. heh

I went back 4 pages and didn't see a vote count, so I'm not really sure where we're at. I will say that I didn't see what Nolder said as a slip. I read it the way he intended it. I'll vote there if I have to to get a lynch, but I don't see it.

I want to hear more about Ithi's item. Do you still have it? Can you still use it even though the hour has changed?

I prayed for Red in the last hour so I do not think she was converted. The prayer also protects me as I say it. I have more than one prayer in my book. I have to say one each hour till they run out or I die for some reason - or I lose one anyway.

I'm not going to tell you who I am praying for - but I will pray near the start of each hour because if I can do my action at any time so can the mafia and I don't think my prayer will work if they've already been converted.

I'm not telling you how many I have. Clearly not everyone who receives an item is a one shot so asking people to reveal when they've done it is daft. Why the hell would you give up that info anyways - who does it benefit?

I can only pray once per hour.

I will tell you who I prayed for at the start of the following hour.

The irony of me having to do this is not lost on me either.

SoWa has come a long way in the 3 years since the last time I went. There is a whole section with just food trucks... in order, I ate:

a grilled haddock fish taco

a pulled pork sandwich

a plate of chicken and rice (sounds boring, tastes epic)

a fresh baked chocolate chunk cookie ice cream sandwich made to order
