Policy lynching him yes. I don't know one way or another whether he's scum or not until he's dead.

A policy lynch is required because he made a play which is inherently scummy.

It's like suggesting we lynch a cop to confirm their readings instead of lynching the guilty.

You don't let someone who's made a statement (or vote) like that skate by.

Well some people do. But they shouldn't.

K now this isn't even about it being scummy or not, its about policy lynching, which I think shouldn't even exist.  By policy lynching, if someone was trying to pull off a gambit and was a town PR, you could get them killed because of a stupid policy lynching rule.

Shocking that Suki OMGUS's me.  Since we apparently aren't lynching that one day one i'm happy to go for Rand.  He has agreed with me on practically every point I made against him, which says to me that he bit off more than he could chew in his attack and is trying to back out of it.

Part of me is with Rand about policy lynching, and it seems wrong with me.  However, for all that I hear about it, I've never actually seen it done.

No, you've just made good arguments that fit with what I am saying as well.  We have slight discrepancies on things such as the effectiveness of my tactics and so on, but we both agree on what they are and so on.  I find it funny that you mention this after its already been done.  Looks to me that you are trying to bring up a good reason to lynch me and consolidate.

Now, I am almost sure I am going to get lynched for consolidation, and I am vanilla, so no roles lost.  I think Nol, Darthe, and Hally are scum in that order.  Once I flip, you'll see those reads as non-biased, but obviously not 100% accurate, remember my reasoning.

Sorry I've been busy,

Yup, you just said it, this was not the scenario I was in, I did it to confuse people, not to garner sympathy or mock outrage. Why would I do this when there were pretty much no votes on me?

Doing something to confuse is different form getting reactions. Getting reactions is useful, confusion is not (well most of the time)

Confusion garners reactions.  Then I unconfuse them by telling them it was a jumpstart.  I didn't mean long term confusion.

Confusion gives confused reactions. Or (because the mafia knows more) it gives confused town reactions

Confusion is rarely helpful. It's a poor mans hunting and a mafias smoke screen

Right, thats why I'm getting reactions from after I lift the confusion, not before.

Policy lynching is lynching people who make notably bad decisions. It's an effort to teach newer players and curb bad practices. There is absolutely a debate to be made on what actions one should be policy lynched for but I can't imagine a convincing argument for why policy lynching as a whole should not exist.

Taking your example of a town PR running a gambit and getting lynched, well then that teaches PR's not to run gambits or do better next time.

You didn't really lift the confusion though. You gave a crappy reason and think it will magically disappear

I honestly don't see how hard it is to understand, I voted myself in the hope of getting reactions and judging play.  If you don't think that's a good play, then we might have different play styles, or you may be right, but its already done, and now we can just make the best out of it.

Yeah but that lowers the chances of winning the game, and then they might also get the wrong impression of not ever running gambits.

Yeah but that lowers the chances of winning the game,

That's the gambit runners fault.

and then they might also get the wrong impression of not ever running gambits.

Not if it's clear why they were lynched.

A gambit, better called a gamble, is only good when it works.

That isn't to say one should never gamble but the consequences for failure need to be clear.

I hate to come in last minute and jump on but deadline is close. Rand, again, I understand why you done the self vote and again, I think it's a horrible idea.

That's a lynch, scene incoming!

The images moved in a blur.  Han slashed out with his claw, Lee kicked.  Back and forth they moved in a dance, deadly and beautiful.  Suddenly, one of Lee’s reflections comes into focus.  The other images coalesce around it certain that behind this image was an incarnation of evil.  A fist strikes out and shatters the image, destroying the one behind it.  A body falls, but it does not match the image in the mirror.  The body is not Lee.  The body is not Han.  Rand, a tournament fighter, falls to the ground, pummeled by a thousand fists.

Rand, Vanilla Town, True Reflection: Tournament Fighter, has been killed.

A mirror has been shattered.  Remember, the enemy has only illusions and images behind which to hide.  Destroy the illusion and the enemy will be revealed.

It is now night.  You have 24 hours to get your NA's in.

Until next game Rand.

Meanwhile...

I think Player deserves some pressure tomorrow for not being on anyone's train. I know he's been around at least sporadically so why wasn't he committed to lynching someone?
